One month body blitz starting tomorrow

ONO7 · 19/06/2022 11:01

Anyone care to join me?

I'm starting tomorrow, giving myself a month, to try and sort myself out. One month doesn't sound too daunting!

I have at least two stone to lose, which will obviously take time, I'm not expecting a miracle in one month.

Also, the fatter I get the more I have let myself go so I intend to start using all the beauty products currently gathering dust, and take more care of my appearance.

I know that with a bit of effort, I can make positive visible changes. I really don't like what I see in the mirror right now.

I will post my starting weight in the morning and will make Monday my weekly weigh day.

1.8lbs down since Monday, so very encouraging. Still testing positive for COVID, still feeling shit. I wonder if coughing a lot counts as exercise, it's certainly made my abs ache a lot. Great to read how everyone's doing.

Gufo · 23/06/2022 13:07

@Brunilde the recommended serving size has been an eye-opener. No wonder the pounds were piling on here (granola especially was a shocker!).

Brunilde · 23/06/2022 13:19

@Gufo absolutely! I think I could have fit it all on one spoon!

Carriemac · 23/06/2022 14:00

Down two pounds through portion control and no wine !

youboozeyoulose · 23/06/2022 14:09

I have done rubbish this week, having evening snacks, drinking wine, doing no exercise and have somehow lost two pounds. I know it will be something to do with water retention and it won't be real weight loss but I am taking it a positive reason to kick myself up the arse.

Going to go on an evening walk today so I don't have snacks. No breakfast today, had a packet of smoked mackerel which is a whopping 700 calories but am very full now and most likely won't have a big tea.

Am aiming to stick to 1,400 calories a day.

OkyDoke · 23/06/2022 14:38

Hello all, broke my fast today at about 1.30pm suprisingly wasn't that hungry. Been for a little walk at lunch. DH out at pub quiz tonight so hoping to fit in a workout if baby goes to bed!

whatisheupto · 23/06/2022 17:21

Hi all, checking in to keep me accountable! I haven't posted since I joined on Monday but I've been doing surprisingly well. Maybe the hot weather makes it easier. I've been fasting from 7pm to 11am give or take. And low carbing.... I'm building up to even lower carb! I do think bread and all wheat based foods are my nemesis. So I'm going to keep eating fruits despite the carbs but cut out bread, pasta, everything else mega carby. I want it to be sustainable and healthy. I don't generally eat much fruit.
My tip.... on the evenings when I really really want (need?!) something, I have found the little Whirly ice lollies from Aldi very good. They are about 70 calories I think and hit the spot. If you've been good all day I think it's OK!!

I haven't managed any exercise sadly all week as its been one of those weeks. But I'm down just over a kilo so I'm happy. Just goes to show. I was stuffing in carby crap here and there around my otherwise healthy meals!

whatisheupto · 23/06/2022 17:28

I forgot to say I am finding this thread very motivating, thank you. I find it hard to be consistent for any length of time at anything so thanks all for keeping me on track! I really want to see the number 82 on my scales by next Thursday (last day of June). Even if it has a big number after the decimal point!! I always use kilos, can't do pounds!! I am tall so feel good at 75 kilos, that's the ultimate aim, but for now I'm focusing on getting to 82 kilos.

FloraGreysteel · 23/06/2022 18:28

Worked through lunch, and a meeting overran so I left work 90 mins late, ravenous. I hit up Marks for a rotisserie chicken on the way home. Does anyone remember the alien TV series V? Remember the Guinea pig scene? Yeah, like that.

Feel queasy and stuffed and I went 557 cals over my limit of 1200 kcals. Lament with me!

I'm expecting the meat sweats to hit at any minute so I'm going to lie in an ice cold bath for an hour.

What I learned today: don't work through and skip lunch.

Gryffindoratheart · 23/06/2022 22:50

Just checking in,

Went out for a pub lunch today, still managed to stay in my calorie limit for the whole day (only just!!)

Had a mini pud whilst there, didn't rate it, hugely regretted the calories used up by it - lesson learnt

Only managed just under 9k steps today too, but all in all a good day.

Just shaved my legs and had a bath, now to read a chapter of my book before bed.

So true!

It all goes wrong for me on the days when I don't have a plan and grab lunch late / in a hurry, and end up with a bag of crisps for lunch and snacking all afternoon.

Fail to plan = plan to fail.

DrRuthGalloway · 23/06/2022 23:56

Hi all! First day on plan today. A little over 10k steps, 10 brisk mins on the exercise bike, and my allowed meals from my plan plus 2.5 l of water...and a tea and two coffees.

I have been perfect today, inspired by the horror of my weigh in this morning. I have put on 25 lb since starting sertraline 10 months ago. It's truly awful...and means I have 4 stone to lose instead of two. But I will stick to it as there is NO WAY I am staying this weight.

Eviebeans · 24/06/2022 05:16

Morning everyone
Started at 11 stones on Monday and was pleased to see a weight that started with 10 for the first time in a while. Have been good about drinking much more water, cutting back on carbs. Have been eating my main meal at lunchtime as I've found that worked before. Am really hopeless at exercise though so know that I need to up the steps. Hoping that I don't go completely off plan over the weekend
Good luck everyone

WheelofLife · 24/06/2022 05:24

I've had a very stressful week and have had wine and cheese :(
I HAVE exercised though, so am still hoping to have lost something.

Brunilde · 24/06/2022 06:59

Good Morning

Hit my steps yesterday but had a bit of a snackcident! Pulled it back by not having any dinner and will need to eat less today. I cannot be trusted with anything in the house!

Today will have to be very good with food and again aiming for 10k steps and a workout. DH is away so going to be a tough few days with the kids. That could go either way, no time to eat or eating junk and sugar to keep me going.

Gufo · 24/06/2022 07:03

Yesterday was a win for calories and water, but a fail for exercise. I'm not working today so going to a HIIT class. I've also started snacking in the evenings again so need to stop - nothing tht bad but just out of habit/boredom, not hunger.

Hope the meat sweats weren't too bad Flora - at least the chickincident was low carb ...

It's Friday night!

One month body blitz starting tomorrow

FloraGreysteel · 24/06/2022 16:33

It's Friday night!

Night off here. Been good all day but I'm not giving up Friday wine and takeaway. See you tomorrow. Be strong

FloraGreysteel · 24/06/2022 17:56

@gingercat02 no judgement here! Enjoy!

bailarbailar · 24/06/2022 19:35

Happy Friday everyone. Had a couple of glasses of Prosecco but otherwise stuck to plan so not feeling too unhappy

FloraGreysteel · 24/06/2022 19:40

I went over by 157 kcals but it was all meat and low carb vegetables so I'm not too bothered.

Thanks for starting this thread @ONO7 x

Hedonism · 24/06/2022 20:39

Been a bit rubbish today. Cake and wine are my downfall. I'm on 12,000 steps though, and planning a long run tomorrow morning. I feel less bloated, but trying to avoid the scales until Monday weigh in 😬

twordle · 24/06/2022 21:23

Pretty balanced week with food & lots of exercise but it's now Friday & psychologically this means all bets are off! Can anyone offer tips to help stick with it over the weekend? Food is very much linked with pleasure/ relaxation in my mind and without the structure of the week, I always over indulge at weekends.. all advice welcome!

Brunilde · 24/06/2022 22:30

Over 10k steps but food went off the rails! Once I start I can't stop.

But tomorrow is another day so fingers crossed I can get right back on it and stop eating crap. Didn't help I was up at 4.30 and I always crave junk when I'm tired.

Brunilde · 24/06/2022 22:33

@twordle I always do best when I plan my whole day out. It doesn't work for some but if I have a list written down of what I am having for each meal and snacks I tend to deviate less.
