Hard to believe itโ€™s April already ๐Ÿ˜ฎ. Fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (Weigh On Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day.

Are you in๐Ÿ˜Š What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Checking in, thank you @TheRealHousewife

fallfallfall · 31/03/2022 17:10

checking in as well :)

Crazzzycat · 31/03/2022 17:35

Thanks for the new thread @TheRealHousewife

My aim for April is to be a bit more consistent and break the habit of a few weeks of being on plan, followed by a few weeks massively off plan. Iโ€™d be very happy if I can crack that.

For the first two weeks of April, I will be rowing every day as part of an online challenge. I plan to up my calories for that, to improve my chances of making it to the end ๐Ÿ˜…

Good luck everyone!

SanFranBear · 31/03/2022 19:11

Thanks so much, RealHousewife.

I'm hoping to hit my March goal in the morning (under 90kg) which means I'll be ready to tackle the next milestone - my pre-pandemic weight, which was 86.7. Still felt too heavy so will be keeping on but will feel so much better to know the last couple of years of overeating and definitely overprinting have been conquered.

It's snowing here today - not very Spring like!!

ImALittlePea · 31/03/2022 19:25

Thanks @TheRealHousewife - checking in! Currently have a poorly baby on me so will post properly tomorrow. For now I'll just say that managed to not veer off plan today despite feeling really crappy with Covid. Let's hope it pays off tomorrow ๐Ÿคž

TheRealHousewife · 31/03/2022 19:50

Hi Everyone

Useful Link for any newbies we might get Healthy Eating Basics

@SingaporeSlinky @fallfallfall you are both very welcome. Nice to have you on board.

@Crazzzycat Good luck with your challenge! Glad youโ€™re joining us all again.

@SanFranBear youโ€™ve been making good steady progress and I have everything crossed for hitting your target tomorrow ๐Ÿ‘.

@ImALittlePea sorry to read a that youโ€™re still suffering with covid and have a poorly little one. Hereโ€™s to you both feeling better soon!

Up to my eyes in paint and not made as much progress as Iโ€™d like. Not doing any more until next week as need to clean the house ๐Ÿ˜ฎ. I actually like the smell of paint โ€ฆ does that make me weird? ๐Ÿ˜ณ

See you all tomorrow ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Hi all, tiptoeing back in the thread - big thanks @therealhousewife. I've been constantly sick or with sick child (so I feel your pain @ImaLittlePea) but I've stayed as consistent as I can and now down 5 pounds from when I started in Feb. So I should reach goal sometime in Feb 2023 GrinConfusedWink! Or hopefully sooner.

Here's to a good month for us all Smile

CloudySunshine · 31/03/2022 20:38

Evening all!
Thanks for the new thread @TheRealHousewife

Busy few days but been trying to stick to noticing what I'm eating, and my first PT session done. And I lost 4 pounds in the first week and a bit (can't remember what day I started!) so a little celebration.

Hope everyone is keeping warm - it's so chilly today!

buzzofthebumblebee · 31/03/2022 22:46

You are amazing @TheRealHousewife - heartfelt thanks for being so wonderful.

See you all tomorrow!

ginsparkles · 01/04/2022 07:18

Hello all,

Am back after a month off. March was rough. But starting again. Two months to go until I go away, I'm here, I'm accountable.

So SW 12st
GW 10st 7

Meals today
Mushroom pasta salad
Chicken tikka masala

I hope everyone is well. I missed you all.

Elle200 · 01/04/2022 07:29

Thank you for the lovely shiny new thread @TheRealHousewife.
I hardly ever post but do read every day, so well done on everyones progress. Thinking of you @Sunshinecake, hoping things sort themselves out very soon.

i only weigh on the first of each month, and after an almost three month binge round Christmas I managed to reload 20kg onto my long suffering body. Lost 5.7kg in March so my stats are now:

SW: 134kg
CW: 78.3kg
TW: 75kg

SanFranBear · 01/04/2022 07:30

Welcome back, Gin - still a stone and a half down and your lovely holiday in rhe horizon. I'm finding this thread such a huge help in keeping me motivated.

I'm a bit in shock as, despite the excesses of last weekend, I managed to lose 3lbs so am well under my March goal of getting below 90kg.

SW - 104.7kg
CW - 88.6
April GW - 85

I've adjusted my April goal slightly as want to make it a stretch but as long as I get to 86.3 (actual pre-pandemic weight), I'll be over the moon. Still got a mammoth task to get to where I want to be (around 60kg and somewhere I've not been since my very early 20s!)

But thank you all so much as whilst it is hard and can be a bit miserable when I want to eat aaaaaall the Biscoff, I'm finding that posting on here seems to satisfy the urge and I get a huge amount of support.

Roll on a successful April ๐Ÿคž

SanFranBear · 01/04/2022 07:33

Holy moly, Elle200 - that is an incredible loss, massive congratulations! By my reckoning, that's 8 stone gone??? You must feel like a different woman - well done!

SanFranBear · 01/04/2022 07:35

Sorry for the multiple posts and sorry for misunderstanding your post, Gin!

buzzofthebumblebee · 01/04/2022 07:54

And we missed you too @ginsparkles !! Nice to have you back with your sparkles too.

Massive well done on your march losses @Elle200, @CloudySunshine and @RebeccaNoodles.

Hope you and baby feel better soon @ImALittlePea.

My SW for April is even more distorted than yesterday's weign-in. I'm up more to 11 6 despite being on-track yesterday. Frustrating, but hope it will shift soon. Strong coffee for me today ; )

ImALittlePea · 01/04/2022 08:11

Morning! Happy 1st!

My final weigh in for March was a loss of 1.5lb!! So while I didn't quite hit my target for the month, I'm only 1lb off, and I'm now a whole stone lighter than when I started.

In terms of my March targets...

  • weight loss as above
  • moving more; I've managed to fit a lot more walking in, still not found the space for classes or anything yet but that should change at the end of this month when our childcare provision increases so I'll be working less evenings
  • I managed the WHOLE month without any takeaway and midweek wines/crisps/bread. This hasn't been easy but I've kept myself in check whenever I've found myself tempted.

I've also had a few people notice the weight loss, and my jeans that I nearly sized up on just before Christmas are now far too big! So that's a rather lovely NSV on top of it all.

So overall I'm super happy and I'm really quite proud of myself!

April targets..

  • being realistic with my birthday next week, the school holidays, a weekend away (and now covid) I'm going to aim to lose 2lb overall this month. This will edge me ahead of where I wanted to be this month and on the lower side of the half-stone mark. I'll be pleased with that.
  • drink more water... Consistently! I don't track this in mfp but I might start as I know I'm still a bit hit and miss with it

Realistically I can't commit to the no midweek crisps/bread/wines this month, because I have a midweek birthday ๐Ÿ˜œ so I'm going to give myself an easier month (all the while trying not to slide down that slippery slope back to old habits).

I don't think I feel as poorly as I did yesterday (although I'm still in bed so haven't tested myself out yet), but baby girl has a really high temp and is very clingy. Thankfully she slept ok and hasn't been sick again, which is something at least. Hopefully we swerve a doctor call out today ๐Ÿ™

Glad to have you back @ginsparkles

No, not strange at all @TheRealHousewife I love the smell of a freshly painted house!

Thinking of you always @SunshineCake1

And a big wave ๐Ÿ‘‹ to everyone else on the thread!

TheRealHousewife · 01/04/2022 08:48

Good Morning You Lovely Lot โญ๏ธ

Welcome to Aprils thread & letโ€™s make it a good one! @RebeccaNoodles @CloudySunshine @buzzofthebumblebee @ginsparkles @Elle200 @SanFranBear @fallfallfall @ImALittlePea @SingaporeSlinky & @Crazzzycat

Iโ€™m still bouncing around but for me weight loss/gain is a fine line due to not being able to exercise as I did. Previously when Iโ€™ve lost the weight and got to 9st 2, Iโ€™d cut cals too much as I was losing hair too. I must have very hungry hair ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. Hair is fuller now but so am I ๐Ÿ˜ณ. Not by much but enough to be annoying. Iโ€™m not exceeding 1200 cals a day and try to keep it nearer to 1000 - 1100 but in reality thatโ€™s maintaining me. Any ideas very welcome ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Menu
Meal 1 - Mushroom stroganoff & carrots, cabbage, Cauli.
Meal 2 - Spicy Tuna stir fry. Greek yoghurt, few oats/pecans.
Tea, coffee, water. Collagen/almond milk.

Last thread someone asked when I ate my 2 meals (had read after Iโ€™d already posted then forgot all about it) I generally eat around 12:00 and 18:30 ish. I have eaten this way for years as I genuinely do not feel hungry in a morning (when younger and active used to have 2 breakfasts ๐Ÿ˜…)

Apologies if Iโ€™ve cross posted with anyone, Iโ€™ve been writing this post on and off a whileโ€ฆ

Enjoy your day and I hope you donโ€™t get April Fooled!

PS - I hope your energy hike isnโ€™t too shocking. I actually worry about people on lower incomes/disabled/single mums/older people etc as the numbers just donโ€™t add up ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ Itโ€™s a worrying time.

Checking in too! Think I've put on another llb so 11 stone 4 llb now.

Have been a bit down what with work etc so yesterday:-

usual breakfast oatsosimple blueberries, lunch minestrone soup and toast with margarine. Saw DM after work and had lentil pie with small potato and carrots broccoli and peas. Also had greek yogurt with honey.

I finished off the cheese savouries, had a Lindt chocolate bar, 2 cheese strings (they're evil, I like them now, someone suggested them here!) also had a date with peanut butter. I was freezing yesterday, didn't get time for a walk or any exercise
.

This morning Oatsosimple with blueberries and honey and tea.

Last day of horrible job so am hoping that will be a switch in my mind!

Am up earlier than I would be tomorrow to meet DM, DNephew and DB at an exhibition at Horniman Museum so running around after an active 3 year old should burn some calories!

Gonnagetgoing · 01/04/2022 09:37

Oh I just wanted to say to everyone - second month on this thread - I find it great posting, reading stories and logging food and exercise. It really motivates me! Smile

126orbust · 01/04/2022 10:08

Hello Chums - I have a new user name as I am very pleased to say I weighed in at 128.8lbs this morning so it is time to move down another band.
Sorry I have not checked in for a week but we were away for a long weekend and then had a busy time at work.
I will be better this month - it is freezing here - my fault as I ordered new garden furniture for Easter hols in the garden - What a fool!

ImALittlePea · 01/04/2022 10:18

Oh we thought it was our fault for ordering some new garden toys for the kids @126orbust ๐Ÿคฃโ„๏ธ

Youdoyoutoday · 01/04/2022 10:28

Morning all!

Such a beautiful bright sunny day here though its freezing! It was snowing this morning!

Weigh in is 14.1 this morning so let's see where this month takes me, hopefully downwards!

SunshineCake1 · 01/04/2022 10:35

I will read and post properly as need to go out but I'm logging a loss of 5.2lbs for March.

The police have stopped looking for DD Sad๐Ÿ’”

Crazzzycat · 01/04/2022 11:50

Morning all! Iโ€™m starting the month on 73.3 kg. Iโ€™d love to see that go down to 72 kg, but I guess weโ€™ll just have to wait and see how that goes.

Iโ€™m aiming for a small calorie deficit (250 cal) the first week and then maintenance for week 2, to make sure I have enough energy to fuel all the rowing I have planned. Iโ€™m starting slowly today with just 1 km, but rapidly builds up to 15 km on day 15...with no breaks in between. Wish me luck ๐Ÿ’ช

Iโ€™m so pleased for that you met your March goal @SanFranBear! Iโ€™m sure thatโ€™s a big boost. Fab progress for you too @126orbust and @ImALittlePea! Congratulations ๐Ÿฅณ
