Whether I’m alone in it or not!

I’m totally fed up of filling my face before I ‘start again tomorrow.’ So in a novel approach, I have filled my face before I start again tomorrow.

Anyone else in the same boat feel free to join, but I’ll be back tomorrow regardless Grin

What plan are you following? What I’d say is don’t give up, every time you ‘slip up’ just draw a line under it, and eat healthily the rest of the day. Don’t think “oh well, I’ve failed, might as well eat even more now”, just get straight back to it. Don’t wait for tomorrow, if you really want to do it, stick with it.
Good luck!

Hi! Thank you!
Calorie counting…it’s worked well for me before and I was at my target weight, then put half a stone back on which I just cannot shift. But I’m going to now!

I'm in a similar boat. I lost 1.5 stone last year, but bad habits have allowed about 0.5 stone creep back, and I don't want it to keep going that way.

My method last year was cutting out booze and crisps, and being more conscious about my snacking. Being on a Mumsnet group helped me to maintain focus, so I'd like to join this one.

MistySkiesAfterRain · 22/03/2022 05:22

Ooh good luck! I'll join you, I have another thread going too but I quite like the idea of posting daily. Weight loss is one of those things , only interesting if you are doing it, otherwise can seem a bit obsessive but needs to be!

So far I've lost 6lbs by cutting out unhealthy snacks and this week I have started calorie counting using an app as this has worked for me in the past. Finding that I have to count everything, even or especially cooking oil used in recipes. Substituting this for Fry Light now or water where I can.

Coffeetree · 22/03/2022 07:21

ME TOO!

Excellent idea. I needed to lose a stone overall, lost half a stone in December/Jan, and now my "maintaning" has turned into a plateau. Enough!

The culprit is mindless snacking as I work.

TSJ19 · 22/03/2022 07:35

Im in the same boat but i have been quite unwell. I have started by trying to cut out the snacks which are my downful. I haven't eaten crisps for 2 weeks now. Have majorly cut out biscuits and chocolate. Have started to try and get moving again so am trying to walk everyday.

MountainSun · 22/03/2022 16:13

I’ve just taken a detour home so that I don’t pass McDonald’s and get McFlurry #winning

Well done @MountainSun

I've been up since 5 so lunch was at 11 and dinner has already been had at 3.30!! It might be an early night and lots of herbal teas here.

HaggisBurger · 22/03/2022 16:43

Me too. That’s the exact amount i have to lose and I am annoyed my clothes are too tight & uncomfortable.

colouringindoors · 22/03/2022 17:23

Oooo good thinking op. My BMI is now in the obese category Blush and I hate being this weight.

I ultimately need to loose 2 stone, but am aiming for 1 to start with.

Started low carbing yesterday. Craving sugar today...

IsItFuck · 22/03/2022 17:25

I try to never eat after 6pm. Lost 2 stone with that, walking loads and a couple of other things

MistySkiesAfterRain · 22/03/2022 18:09

Yeah its only 6pm, there is so much day left and no more food 😱😭, is how I feel currently 😂

I suppose it's like an intermittent fast which I have inadvertently done before and I do find I feel great on them as it gives the digestive system a break.

MistySkiesAfterRain · 22/03/2022 18:10

I'll plan tomorrows food in anticipation.

JessieEssex · 22/03/2022 18:23

I'd like to join too! I really need to lose a stone to be back at a comfortable weight for me (ideally 1.5 stone but I'm finding it harder to lose weight as I get older). I exercise a lot but definitely overcompensate by eating too much as a 'reward'. I eat pretty well, just way too much! I need to be honest with myself about how much I eat. What works for me is cutting out sugary food - I lose all resolve as soon as that first biscuit passes my lips so I can't just restrict myself to a couple.

MistySkiesAfterRain · 22/03/2022 19:08

Omg I live in a flat and my neighbour is cooking steak or bacon or burgers. How dare they.

MistySkiesAfterRain · 22/03/2022 19:12

@JessieEssex I find app tracking is good for this. As you can see what the cost is in terms of calories etc. Kind of like a re-education, that was what I felt. And it helps with not underestimating what you had and what is left. Kind of like starting to measure it. Of course sometimes nothing works and you just have to be patient and perservere!

JessieEssex · 22/03/2022 19:21

@MistySkiesAfterRain yes I'm back on MFP for that very reason! Smile.

MountainSun · 22/03/2022 21:32

Yep I live on Nutracheck, find it so helpful!

I was over by 80 ish today but that’s not the end of the world, could have been worse. I’m only on 1400 calories so it’s not easy but it’s totally do-able!

Hope everyone had a good day. I’m trying to cut out snacking too as that is a major downfall for me.

OP posts:
RunnyPaint · 22/03/2022 22:12

Not a bad day, snack-wise. DH wafted chocolate at me just now so I had a tiny, tiny bit... but I'm not having any more! I went for a run this morning, so the virtuous/smug feeling should keep me good.

JessieEssex · 23/03/2022 07:08

@MountainSun I'm on 1760 on MFP and it works for me - I don't know how I could go lower (well I do, but I'd be miserable Smile). Was actually under by 300 yesterday but exercised a lot and didn't eat those calories (I usually do!)
Up early with the kids today and had to remind myself not to eat my breakfast at 6.45 as I'm hungry again by 9!

JustJam4Tea · 23/03/2022 07:14

Good idea. A stone for me (then the rest). But that stone would get me back to pre lockdown. I’ve started C25k. My weak spots are, choc after tea (skinny dh’s thing not me) but I still eat a bit, cheese and biscuits for supper, wine in the week, crisps, and biscuits at work.

If I have a normal breakfast, soup no bread for lunch, and a normal tea with lots of veg…I’m fine. If I cut out the snacks. Apples for snacks.

Supersee · 23/03/2022 07:20

I will try to join too!

I'm on day 3 of a loose Fast800. I say loose as I'm just sticking to two low carb meals and keeping an eye on calories and intermittent fasting, but I'll be moving to proper meals from the books and logging it all soon.

Main downfall for me is wine and the takeaways and stuff that follow so given myself a mini goal of Easter to remain off it. I've got a couple of stone to lose to get back into all my clothes.

Coffeetree · 23/03/2022 07:29

Okay I just had my Hot Girl Smoothie and now no food till lunch. Lunch is Greek tuna salad. Probably same for tea.

ExtraFirmHold · 23/03/2022 07:43

I'll join too of that's okay! I need to lose 1.5 stone, but am aiming for 10lbs to start. I lost it a few months ago and have now put it all back on. I will be calorie counting, and I have to stop snacking, have gotten into a very bad habit of overindulging at night time, it's like I can't just have one little treat, I need to eat the whole bag. I have a very busy day ahead of me so fingers crossed I actually find time to eat proper meals not just snack all d.

Hollyhead · 23/03/2022 07:46

I’m trying to lose half a stone too, some accountability would be very helpful! I have lost almost a pound so far so feeling quite motivated. The thing that tipped me into loss after maintaining was ditching Friday and Saturday as ‘treat days’ I now try and stick to my calorie allowance, although I naturally slip up a bit more, but that’s ok, however having them as designated ‘treat days’ led to too much relaxation overall!
