Hi everyone. New thread as promised. A little later than planned but I'm blaming celebrating too much last night.
I wish I could say it was a good start but I'm feeding my hangover today so looks like I'm going to start tomorrow.
Is everyone feeling motivated?

Thanks!

Misdee · 05/01/2008 12:55

my fave SW meal is sw chips, beans and an egg fried using fry light. lol.

kid · 05/01/2008 15:15

I must buy some fry light, I keep forgetting it! I even forgot to buy some mroe quorn sausages so it looks like I will have to cook something else for dinner tonight.
I am still undecided as to whether I am having a red or green day (I know you can mix them up but it just doesn't seem right to me!). I had weetabix for breakfast and a pepper, mushroom and onion scrambled egg for lunch.
Quite fancy a veg curry, might just use a tinned version for 6 syns, I'm feeling really tired today so can't be bothered to cook!

cherryredretrochick · 05/01/2008 15:17

fry light is fantastic, is tinned veg curry nice? what brand?

Misdee · 05/01/2008 15:32

tesco veg curry tinned is ok. is 6syns a tin.

it is my lazy evening meals for green days, i either cook some rice with it or some SW chips.

am having a red day today but am stuck for evening meal. have had one B choice, some will have some potatoes with meal this evening.

kid · 05/01/2008 16:03

I've got the Sainsburys veg curry, or at least I am hoping I have!
I think its tastes really nice. I always have plain boiled rice with it, would fancy some of the chips, if only I had some fry light!

I think I need a back up meal just incase I don't have any curry, I'm not sure I saw any in the cupboard the other day.

cherryredretrochick · 05/01/2008 17:18

I am having a stir fry for tea, loads of veg and chicken as a HE. My will power may have finally returned. Oh bugger just found out that dh has bought thigh fillets which look really fatty. never mind eh.

hercules1 · 05/01/2008 17:44

Do people really lose weight on this diet?

I've had 2 fried eggs with 3 pieces of bread and spread for breakfast. frylght and syns for the spread

I've had lots of fruit and a cereal bar between.

Lunch was eggs, chips (sw) and beans.

Just deciding on a further syn! before dinner

Misdee · 05/01/2008 17:53

be careful with the b choices there hecules, what bread did u use?

yes, have lost almost a stone, am hoping to get down to my pre-xmas weight this week.

hercules1 · 05/01/2008 17:58

Weight watchers danish. Not bad. I love bread and thought it would be vile but it wasnt.

hercules1 · 05/01/2008 17:59

How long did it take you, Misdee? I remember you were on the cd earlier last year.

Misdee · 05/01/2008 18:17

have been on SW since beginning of oct, lost 10lb in about 4 weeks, then sort of coasted for a bit in the run upto xmas, but am now back on track.

the WW danish (malted??) isnt a b choice, you need the wholemeal ww bread. i found some ww whole meal thick slice the other day in tesco, and o it was lovely for breakfast.

lurcherlass · 05/01/2008 18:25

Kid- for my lazy days, I have a tin of heinz Beanz mexican chilli, warmed through in a saucepan with a handful of quorn mince. I pour that over a sachet of 2 min microwave rice. Cheats chilli! You can crumble in a beef oxo if you like. The rice has syns depending on which one you choose. Hercules- (you're nearly an anagram of my name!)I've lost nearly 2 stone on this diet and you should see what I eat!! I never stop and I have HUGE plates of spagetti, jacket potatoes like footballs and tonight I'm having a big rice jumbalaya (beans, rice, freid onion, courgette, pepper and Quorn sausages) all free on green. Perhaps you can see why other diets didnt work for me, I'm such a gannet

lurcherlass · 05/01/2008 19:06

Forgot to say Tesco Microwaveable Rice, Basmati or Long grain, ambient 250g pouch both free on green. You could cook your own, but I'm talking knackered or just plain starving here...

hercules1 · 05/01/2008 19:10

Just checked the book. It says ww sliced brown danish but doesnt say it is malted. It this a different one then to the danish malted?

Misdee · 05/01/2008 19:25

the malted doesnt have enough fibre in it to count a sa b choice, this was bought up our group meeting just before xmas, as apparently the wholmeal danish is nigh on impossible to get.

auntyspan · 05/01/2008 19:38

Pleased i've found this thread... i had my first meeting on wednesday and have been finding the diet ok since then. my friend has lost loads... and i'm getting married in may so need to shift a stone!

doesn't help that i have horrible flu virus at the moment, so no appetite.

good luck everyone.

Diege · 05/01/2008 20:02

Lurcherlass, that quick chilli sounds fab! I'm waiting on some SW chips, quorn sausages, fried egg and mushrooms..mmm!! Have just found my old SW\grren recipe book, so will have try a few out next week and see if there are any good ones to post here .
Just wondering how people use their syns up? I save for choccy/biscuits, or when the need arises, curry!

Misdee · 05/01/2008 20:03

todays syns have gone on choccie biscuits.

usually use them on sauces and stuff. occasioanlly a bag of skips hmmmmmmmm

Diege · 05/01/2008 20:03

Hi auntyspan! You will lose a stone no problem on SW by May!

Diege · 05/01/2008 20:04

Mmmm, skips!!!! Go on then, how many in a pack?

Misdee · 05/01/2008 20:05

6syns i think. might be 5syns

french fries are also 5 or 6 syns a bag

hercules1 · 05/01/2008 20:05

Thanks Misdee. I have a ww white loaf in the freezer to will use that.

Misdee · 05/01/2008 20:08

herc, i usually just get a small loaf of hovis, 2 slices of toast before i take the girls to school.

kid · 05/01/2008 20:14

I have used my syns tonight on a curly wurly. Thats my fix of chocolate for today over with.
I had a late lunch so had a small dinner, bet I am starving by bedtime though. I find drinking water fills me up, not as much as some chocolate would though!

If others are craving chocolate, I get the hi-light hot chocolate drink. I believe the dark chocolate one is one syn and its lovely.
