Hi everyone. New thread as promised. A little later than planned but I'm blaming celebrating too much last night.
I wish I could say it was a good start but I'm feeding my hangover today so looks like I'm going to start tomorrow.
Is everyone feeling motivated?

I have cut out bread, well I had one slice yesterday but I haven't eaten bread for weeks. I don't even miss it anymore.

Fizzylemonade · 20/02/2008 21:25

Couldn't not have the bread, I have a wholemeal roll to put my home made burger with bacon and tomatoes in [licking lips emoticon]

kid · 20/02/2008 21:32

I have rice or salad for lunch. Not very exciting but 13lb (maybe more!) lighter, I am happy!

sugarlumps · 21/02/2008 08:33

well amazingly i have managed to claw my way back to a loss!!! only 3/4lb but its still a loss!!!!! good job i went back to work or i hate to think what it would have been!
oh regarding the bread i have weight watchers brown danish you can have 3 slices as a he. very thin but very satisfying!!!

SWlurker · 21/02/2008 08:34

Well I'm feeling dead chuffed with myself for last night. Managed to make pretty good choices, only reason I went over my syns was becuase I didn't notice until it was too late the person next to me was helpfully topping up my wine glass!!

I had... portabello mushrooms for starter, (extra kudos for not eating the garic bread that came with it), Mains: 1/2 a 8oz steak (I allowed 2 HEB's for 4oz steak, not sure if thats right), boiled potatoes, peas and sweetcorn and broccoli. Dessert: (oops) grilled bananas with toffee sauce and a teeny scoop of ice cream. Wonder if ice cream can count as a HEA he he!!

I know cooking adds syns to fruit and the sauce wouldn't have been good but I thought hopefully that probably wasn't a bad choice for dessert. And I have to say it was amazingly delish!

andyrobo237 · 21/02/2008 12:53

Well done SW lurker - glad you managed to have a meal that fitted in with the plan, and also didnt feel deprived!

Sugarlumps - any loss is great!!

I managed 2lb loss this week (according to home scales) - I had put on 1lb the week before, so I am pleased - just trying to be good this week!

Had a lovely lunch - pasta with chicken and loads of salad - all cut up in a ceral bowl with a spoonful of sandwich spread (need to check the syns) - delish!! Washing ot down with melon cubes and grapes and my 4th glass of water!! My plan is to change one little thing each week - this week is more water - I aim to visit the machine at work 5 times during the day - keeps me away from my desk as I need frequent loo breaks!!!!!

SWlurker · 22/02/2008 12:50

Nobody on here? is there a new thread I haven't found yet?

Beadmum · 22/02/2008 13:26

havent been on for a while as ive not been sticking to the plan, scared to weigh myself (i dont attend a group). So disappointed with myself and feeling huge and bloated so back on track today. Had started baking my own bread - big mistake, plan was it was only for dh and dd but i couldnt resist
Will be on here more often to keep me focused

kid · 22/02/2008 15:17

I intended to be really good today, but then we went out and we were eating a a diner and I had a grilled chicken burger with salad and fries.
I could have had a desert too but decided not to.

So, tonight it will have to be a syn free meal either red or green, I haven't decided which it should be yet.

misdee · 22/02/2008 19:10

i bought those tandoori pieces by quorn. the back of the pack had a reciepe for making a chicken tandoori curry thingy.

it was actually quite nice. and 1syn.

nappyaddict · 22/02/2008 19:17

right i am attemtping to follow this plan but am totally confused by it all!!

it says i am allowed soft cheese as a healthy extra but that is rather vague. what soft cheese am i allowed exactly? i mean can i have philadelphia, ricotta, mascarpone, what?!

sugarlumps · 23/02/2008 12:52

ooooo dont know about the soft cheese one! i normally have cheddar!

right im plannning a red day tomorrow, but im not very good at them, so i was thinking bacon sarnie for brekki, with weight watchers brown danish, roast chicken for lunch with roasted butternut squash instead of potatoes and a frittata for tea - does that sound good?
i dont know why but red days throw me and i get in a total muddle!

BTW does anyone know the online password for this week?
TIA

I lost a pound at my weigh in on Thursday night. I'm still not doing very well.
Since Christmas quite a lot of weight has piled back on again. There was someone in our group on Thursday who has lost 1stone 3lbs in six weeks. It's taken me since August to lose 8lb with all the gains I've had recently.

nappyaddict · 23/02/2008 18:18

can i have creme fraiche?

kid · 23/02/2008 21:55

I think creme fraiche is free, so is fromage frais and low fat natural yogurt.
I tend to buy all three now and again and end up throwing them away!

poppy90 · 24/02/2008 00:08

Creme fraiche is not free Virtually fat free fromage frais is free, as is low fat natural yogurt & also quark!

nappyaddict · 24/02/2008 00:49

can you use creme fraiche as a healthy extra at all? or philadelphia?

also does anyone how many syns in evaporated and condensed milk?

poppy90 · 24/02/2008 09:22

You can't use creme fraiche or Philly as HE, only as syns. Condensed (full fat) milk is 2.5 syns per tbsp condensed (skimmed) is 2 syns per tbsp. Evaporated is 1 syn per tbsp & reduced fat evaporated is 1.5 syns per 2 tbsp.
HTH

poppy90 · 24/02/2008 10:15

I just wanted to share my green breakfast with you. 200g water (or half milk & water) 50g polenta (dried) Splenda to taste. Boil up water add polenta & stir for 1 min (if you like it thick stir for longer. I added strawberries & fromage frais (once in the bowl ) DELICIOUS!! And all free on green!!

when it says soft cheese as a healthy extra then what does it mean?

nappyaddict · 24/02/2008 12:14

also why isn't fruit free if you blend it? what about if you juice it?

nikkid21 · 24/02/2008 13:12

Fruit isn't free if juiced because you don't get the fiber if juiced. Also not free for blended or stewed as it's much easier to eat a far larger quantity. Our group leader says stewed apple is OK as long as you exercise portion control and don't have more than 2 apples at a time.

Considering that I just ate half a melon while waiting for my dinner I think I have a while to go before I get the hang of portion control

poppy90 · 24/02/2008 14:36

nappyaddict where does it say soft cheese?
Well done Sparkler on your loss
Christie, it sounds like you're really organised for next week, I'm sure you'll get a boost

AandMsmum · 24/02/2008 21:56

Hi there, I've been on holiday so haven't posted for a while - well I've just found out I'm pregnant so my target days are well and truly over! Desperately trying to keep a grip on the plan but it's becoming increasingly difficult not to want to eat cake all the time! Anyone been in this situation that could give me some advice? Much appreciated.
