Hi everyone. New thread as promised. A little later than planned but I'm blaming celebrating too much last night.
I wish I could say it was a good start but I'm feeding my hangover today so looks like I'm going to start tomorrow.
Is everyone feeling motivated?

God I'm starving! Had SW fritatta for lunch, but the lure of the Christmas chocs is v. definitely there. Think I'll try some mullerlites this PM - any suggestions as to the best flavour? Seem to remember a chocloate one last time I did the plan.
V. inspired by those almost back to pre-xmas weight, and can commiserate with those who have put on (about 6 ibs myself).

wow Misdee that's brilliant!

well, I out on 6.5 lbs over 2 weeks

But, domyou know what, for the first time in my liufe, I really am not going to beat myself up abiytr it. I was disappointed, but I knoiw I can lose it again, and I am going to make a real effort to stick to plan, because I know it works and I know I don;t feel deprived. I have a nice basket upstairs of all the lovely smellies peoplke have bought me for Christmas, so now whenbever I feel like a chocolate splurge, I am going to have a btha instead, which will probably lifty my sprirts mnore and obviusly won;t amke me gain loads oif weight

I feel more positive aboyut this that I ever have before (and I have been a SW member for 2 years)

Welcome Diege, like you I only have green days. I tried red days, but I am a carb addict and they remind me too much of all the diets I did in my 20's and 30's...
Chicken stock? well, mine is only chicken-bone flavoured water, with a bay leaf and a few peppercorns, so I can't see that having any syns. The chicken is roasted on a tray so the juices run off. I refridgerate them and skim off the fat when it's set. The remaining "jelly" I use for stir-fries and flavouring other dishes, altho I used free Chicken bovril too. The bones I use for the soup stock. I sound like I grew up in war-time don't I?

bohemianbint · 02/01/2008 16:35

Hello again,

FF2 and SheikYerbouti (fab name!) I missed classes for about 5 weeks and put on as many pounds.

Why is it that when I fall off the SW wagon I put on more weight than with any other diet?!

I dread to think what I've put on this week. I'm pregnant, I don't care, and I feel massive. Will have to get on the wagon but might give myself til next Monday - give us a chance to clear all the yummies out of the house!

igd · 02/01/2008 17:19

thanks Misdee.

Diege · 02/01/2008 17:54

Wow LURCHERLASS you don't half make good use of that chicken! Yes, my stock is virtually chicekn bobe water, so yes will go with 'syn-free' . Have just added lots of veggies, potatoes lentils etc etc, though doesn't look exactly appetsiing at the moment. Very tempted by dd2's chicken garlic pizza but have resisted! Will be better when back at work on 7th! BOHEMIANBINT (love the name!)I've always wondered what the rules are with SW when pregnant - is it as simple as adding a few more healthy extras, or massively complicated? Thanks for the password MISDEE, though I felt really naughty using it as I don't attend classes! (I know, I should get out more..)

cherryredretrochick · 02/01/2008 18:52

Ok help me behave, everytime I try I find another box of bloody chocolates that I hid when we got them for xmas. I am also not very mobile at the moment and starting to feel a bit bored. Dh is cooking all my meals and to chear me up a bit today took me to pizza express, was gorgeous . I feel a bit guilty asking him to make me a pasta and sauce or jacket for lunch, seems a lot less demanding to ask for a sarnie. I can't wait to get back to the gym and am hoping to do race for life although I have never run before for obvious (Excessive nork) reasons. Anyone got any idea when I will be on my feet again, I did quite a bit of walking today and am now in agony (breast reduction op was 9days ago).

lurcherlass · 02/01/2008 19:30

Diege, go to Morrisons if you have one near you. For less then 50p they do a packet of soup mix. It contains beans and lentils, barley and peas. It's all free on green and turns your soup into a really filling stew. Cherryredretrochick, my freind said she was feeling much better after 2 weeks and back to normal after 4, altho she wore a sports bra day and night.

Sparkler · 02/01/2008 19:46

Blimey it's hard . I have been fairly good today but it's been a real struggle to get back into eating healthily again. There is still far too much stuff left over from christmas here to tempt me. If I was alone I would give it away but I don't want to deprive DH and my two dds. I am bundling DH with a few boxes of things each day when he goes into work though as I know his work mates will demolish them within seconds!

OP posts:
kid · 02/01/2008 21:37

I like the idea of sending the chocolates to work with your DH sparkler, I might have to try that one.

Today was my first day back on SW and I did well. I did allow myself 4 brazil nuts but I used my syns for those. I bought the latest SW magazine today so will be looking through that for some inspiration. It also came with a little recipe book which I have had a look through. I will be making some of the green meals, I'm not that keen on meat tbh but do eat it now and again.

I put on 6lb during my month off SW, hopefully now that I have stopped drinking Baileys and am not eating chocolates, it will soon fall off. I am also going to be exercising 3 times a week. Thats my intention anyway.

fireflyfairy2 · 03/01/2008 00:21

My sil is a fab cook

We had breadcrumbed mushrooms with salad for starters. Roast beef & mini yorkshire puddings, potatoes, red wine gravy & sprouts, parsnips & carrots.. followed by trifle.

I didn't have any after dinner mints, mince pies, pringles or biscuits

So all in all a good night

cherryredretrochick · 03/01/2008 08:51

Firefly, you did well, go your will power! I am going to behave all week. I am just going to make myself some eggs for breakfast. Thanks for that lurcher, I can't get a bra on yet as it hurts too much, quite liberating really, first time in my life I have ever not worn one. Why does everybody but you so much bloody chocolate for xmas when they know you are on a diet???

kid · 03/01/2008 09:04

I wasn't complaining about all the chocolate I got at the time as I was looking forward to spoiling myself

But, I am sick of the sight of it now. We have a tin of quality street chocolates that haven't even been opened yet. That was because I bought two tins on special offer which was a bit pointless as we clearly didn't need them!

SheikYerbouti · 03/01/2008 09:19

I did SW throughourt mu pg with DS2

It was great - I never felt deprioved, and I only put on aroun 1/2lb a week. You stick to the plan as normal, but I was advised to have thr full 15 syns a daY1

Breastfeeding is even better as you get up to 4 extra HEs a day - plus full 15 syns

SheikYerbouti · 03/01/2008 09:21

Oh and meant to say, I was 16lbs liughter wehen I went back to SW after having DS2 than I was when I gor pg.

Shame I puit most of it back on again

Still, have been good anf am not craving chocs or cake because I am sick of them

fireflyfairy2 · 03/01/2008 10:15

Have just had melon & muller light for breakfast. I have an exam on Tuesday that I desperately need to revise for, but the kids are demanding little sods today.. much the same as yesterday really!

andyrobo237 · 03/01/2008 13:19

I got weighed yesterday = put on one pound - not bad considereing what I have eaten over the hols, and not even opened my book!

Back at work onw (been away 11 months) - it is ok - a bit strange, and have just found that there is a choccie vending machine in our kitchen!!! Not good! WIll have to leave the purse at home - at least I can avoid the kitchen most of the time as I drink water not coffee / tea, so dont need to make a round!

Will do my planning tonight for the rest of the week - to Sunday - I will be going to a new class on Monday(my day off) - it is 10 miles away, but not far from My mums, so maybe I can leave buba there!!

Keep up the good work ladies - next week will be easier as we all get 'back to normal'!!

Diege · 03/01/2008 13:25

Arghh!! Finding it so hard today (only second day too . Have several boxes of Belgium chocolate biscuits that are caling me...mmm, with a nice cup of milky coffee...Must resist, though tis hard..
LURCHERLASS thanks for the tip. We have a Morrisons close by, so will invesitigate . Good going ANDYROBE I have the same problem at work, and have got into the habit of a packet of revels and a bag of cheese and onion crisps a day ...I think your idea of leaving the purse at home is an excellent one!

kid · 03/01/2008 14:11

I am looking forward to things getting back to normal here so I am not tempted to keep munching all day.

I am still feeling very hungry today, despite having had breakfast, lunch, an apple, banana and a mullerlight. Thats more that I usually eat, just not as satisfying as chocolate I would guess.

I am doing very well though as I have not even sniffed a chocolate let alone ate one. My will power is strong, at the moment anyway! Its back to work for me tomorrow so it should be a bit easier to resist temptation then.

Diege · 03/01/2008 16:25

Snap KID on the hunger front - why is it that a handful of quality street are far more satisfying than a bowl of fruit and countless mullerlights? . Just wondering if anyone knows if it's even worth finding out the syn value of homemade flapjack? Have just made a tray with dds, and it's torture! Surely one meagre slice can't be more than 10 syns??
