Hi everyone. New thread as promised. A little later than planned but I'm blaming celebrating too much last night.
I wish I could say it was a good start but I'm feeding my hangover today so looks like I'm going to start tomorrow.
Is everyone feeling motivated?

thanks sugarlumps i just really wanted to do it by tthe book and i feel i ruined it by eating thta pizza

sugarlumps · 13/02/2008 19:46

everyone has binges, but remember to use your syns! the cheese can be your healthy extra, all the toms and veg are free and the only bad thing is the base, but i dont think one blip will make the lighteset bit of difference!

babyjjbaby · 13/02/2008 20:06

thats what i have been thinking it is only the sauce and the base am just off swimming now so will burn it of with a bit of luck

andyrobo237 · 13/02/2008 21:00

Right - I think we need a new thread as this one is getting too long and takes ages to load up on my work PC!

Countdown to Spring and Easter - who has the best idea for a new thread title - this lovely 'spring like'weather is very cheery, but also reminds me that summer clothes will be needed soon!!! EEEk

sugarlumps · 14/02/2008 08:11

I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHOOP WHOOP!!!!
lost 2.5lbs this week taking me over my stone mark!!!! 15lbs in total now!! im soooooo happy! i find the first stone the most daunting, then it gets easier!
if you do make a new thread pls can you post the link coz i dont know how this thing works lol i just added it to my favorites and click on that.
got my 13 hour shift today so i've just packed my luch box with 3 muller lights 3 slices of frittata (and my curly wurly) musnt forget that one

SWlurker · 14/02/2008 08:44

Mmmm Nikkid21 your leftovers sound much better than mine!

Well done sugarlumps!

Last nights leftovers was actually nice - I was so amazed I ate the whole lot! Made a lasagne with the wonderful ingredients;

morrisons mix
mixed herbs
balsamic vinegar
a packet of bbq pork shotz
2 grated carrots
tin of tomatoes
lasagne sheets

Ended up layering the mixture with lasagne sheets and baking in the oven - bear in mind I have no sauce or cheese, the highest layer of lasagne was pretty exposed because I ran out of mixture, but actually that was no bad thing, it crisped up nicely and the whole thing was delish. Feel like a piggy for eating the whole thing over the course of the night, but it was freeeeee and I felt much better about myself than my housemate did who has a mcdonalds with 2 burgers and a donut and ice cream!!

Think on that note tonight I will have to go shopping today, as I have a tin of pineapple and morrisons mix and thats IT! That's pushing my creativity too far!

Ironic thing is I have been trying so hard recently and getting so frustrated becuase I have been blowing the diet that badly, that the last couple of days I have taken time out from the diet, how ironic then that I have ended up eating perfectly to the slimming world plan ?!?

hmm maybe my plan of never having naughty food in the house has paid off with my leftover suprises!! he he he!

poppy90 · 14/02/2008 10:22

SWlurker · 14/02/2008 12:43

A little bird tells me the password is cherry this week.

MiaWallace · 14/02/2008 16:02

I joined SW today for the first time. I have done WW several times but my friend persuaded me to give SW a go.

I have 4 stone to lose to get to my ideal, dream weight.

How do you know how many syns you are allowed? The class was so busy today that my introduction got a bit rushed. Don't think the leader told me.

SWlurker · 14/02/2008 16:33

Hi Mia

Welcome! everyone is allowed 5-15 per day, the idea being to average out around about 10 a day. And you get to eat as much free food as you like!!

Any questions ask away.

misdee · 14/02/2008 16:36

i am on a gree day today but we have decided to have indian takeaway tonight for valentines day.

so plain boiled rice

chicken korma (30 syns! but only has 6 yeaterday and none so far today)

want poppadoms and mango chutney as well. plus all the other extras.

got a feeling i wont be losing much next week

Showmeheaven · 14/02/2008 18:08

Sugarlumps, well done! How long did it take you to lose the stone ?

I'm really enjoying SW, delighted with all the food I can eat, but here's a question for you all:

Do you lose the weight faster if you have more red days ? Or can you still lose it by eating green ???

MiaWallace · 14/02/2008 20:23

Thanks for the welcome SW

Sparkler · 14/02/2008 21:11

Oh bum - I've had another gain.
Gonna be back to my original weight if I'm not careful.

showmeheaven - its taken me 6 weeks to lose a stone, an average of 2 - 3lbs per week.

as for red and green days - i've done it all on green days i think i have had 1 or 2 red days as i'm nto a big meat eater. the only time i will do a red day is when i go out for something to eat, its just easier having a steak and salad or something.

welcome miawallace!

and keep it up sparkler! set yourself mini targets to aim for that way it feels less daunting!

im off into town today to a play center. i know everyone im going with is going to be indulging in greggs the bakers foods guess it will be a salad for me

Christie, Sparkler, know the feeling. Kick up each others bums called for maybe?

Green day people can you help? I need to grab breakfast at work quickly. I have started taking packed lunched (careful, I might start thinking I'm organised . Breakfast is normally weetabix with semi skimmed milk, but can anyone give me any suggestions for a free green breakfast on the run? I think I might have to start back on fruit and mullerlight.. I went off that for ages, did mulerlight to the death

babyjjbaby · 15/02/2008 11:21

good on all of you for losing the weight i satrted on monday but wanted to weigh meself every friday morning so weighed myself this morning and stayed the same i have got to try and sty on it now and we are going away to pontins

lechuga · 15/02/2008 13:20

I'm not sure if this of any help but for ages I had trouble finding WeightWatchers sliced brown danish (you can have three slices as Heb). Anyway, for the first time I saw it today in my local Asda-85p! it's really thin but tastes like the Weightwatchers wholemeal stuff which you can only have 2 slices of..made me feel fuller anyway

misdee · 15/02/2008 14:30

hello all new members

i am on my last green day this week, mainly because i am running low on quorn and cant be bothered to go shopping. got laods of meat in the freezer though including some lean steak hmmmm.

I am doing well on the fruit front, but havent tried anything new yet. was looking at the exotic fruits in tesco the other night and might try an 'ugli fruit' or 'dragon fruit' soon.

so far today

1 banana
1 apple
2 clemetines
1 vanilla mullerlight
1 hifi bar
half a pack of savory rice and cracked pepper qorn fillet.

cleaninglady · 15/02/2008 14:49

Sugarlumps thats fab well done! Im hoping to follow in your footsteps - im currently at 10lbs in 3 weeks but have stuck at the moment although AF has just arrived so Im wondering whether last weeks maintain is due to that?
anyone else find that AF being imminent stops weight loss even if your really good!!!

I did manage to eventually get some of the choc and orange Alpen light bars only 3 syns each so could have 2 instead of one Hifi bar - result

MiaWallace · 15/02/2008 16:51

Today is my first full day doing SW but I'm worried that I'm eating too much to ever lose weight. Today I've had -

Breakfast - huge fruit salad.

Lunch - HUGE jacket potato with a full tin of beans.

Snacks - 2 x alpen light bars (HEb),
1 mullerlight, 350ml glass of milk (HEa).

For dinner I will be having omelette using four eggs, loads of veg and 42g reduced fat cheddar (HEa)

Still leaves me with a HEb and having used no sins. I'm going to be stuffed.

Does it really work?

sugarlumps · 15/02/2008 17:52

AF??? is that your period? lol i'm rubbish with all these abbrieviations!
well if it is, in the week leading up you can reain between 3 & 7 lbs of fluid. (i used to read the wrappers on always lol)
i got mine on thursday, and since then i have lost another 2lbs (serial weigher here bad i know)
im not expecting to keep it off though.

and Miawallace - YES it really works!!!!

sugarlumps · 15/02/2008 17:55

oh and lurker - what about omlette or frittat or something for brekki?
i make mine the night before, cut it into slices then put it in the fridge take it out in the mornign give it a quick zuzz and voila... free brekki in seconds!
although im going to turn ito an omlette if im not careful
