Hi everyone. New thread as promised. A little later than planned but I'm blaming celebrating too much last night.
I wish I could say it was a good start but I'm feeding my hangover today so looks like I'm going to start tomorrow.
Is everyone feeling motivated?

ouch! poor you sugarlumps!

MamaQuim · 19/02/2008 14:54

SW lurker I did that with tesco veggie sausages - merrily stuffed 6 down my neck before I checked the syns

SWlurker · 19/02/2008 16:32

mamaquinn its easily done isn't it.

Argh have written today off ho hum - startedf off with 2 alpen bard and when I had to grab lunch in a hurry had the opportunity to get buffet instead of JP & beans that I had packed up for lunch, so decided to go red instead and had a thin slice of bread and loads of cold meats, and some fruit. V saintly.... until a couple of hours later and I'm ravenous and don't feel brilliant - had forgotton red days I really lack energy and meat doesn't seem to fill me up the same, so I attacked the vending machines - had a packet of crisps and a mars bar

hmm ho hmm.. doing my best to get back on track tonight and not worry about slight afternoon blip. I'll be very impressed with myself, if I do, even though I have totally blown the syns for today I have always said stuff it if I've messed up and gone for a complete pig out for the rest of the day.

Good, non-piggy vibes needed please!!!

kid · 19/02/2008 17:32

I've had 2 weetabix, 2 Alpen light bars and an apple today. I didn't have lunch as DH and DC had Burgerking and I wasn't willing to eat a delicious burger and ruin the diet!

I am so hungry now, I am going to enjoy my dinner no matter what I end up making. I should have planned my meals as its easier to stick to plan then.

I stayed the same this week, but I only have 8lb to lose to reach my pre-pregnacy weight from 10 years ago! I am going to aim to lose an extra 7lb but that will be my next target.

sugarlumps · 19/02/2008 18:34

well i've screwed up again big time today! i think im going to have to give up the advise of the doc and go back to work 2moro! foots suprisingly not that bad! however i think i am too drugged up to feel anything right now!
i have eaten way to much and have jumped on the scales to try and stop myslef eating and have put 3lbs on since thur! so i think i will be loking at a gain this week! first one though!

Christie my consultant told me to always have 2 HEbs and 1 HEb (if not 2)

the Bs add fibre adn the As add calcium

maybe try ensuring you have your Bs?

sugarlumps · 20/02/2008 08:11

christie i have found sometimes the scales stay the same for a while then you have quite a large loss, i remember last time i did this diet i was stuck at 11.8 for about 3 weeks and i was getting really disheartened with myself because i couldnt get below 11.7, then all fo a suddon they just budged!
keep at it gal! i wish my scales would stay the same and not go up!!! hahaha

SWlurker · 20/02/2008 08:27

Please can I have some help?!

I prefer green to red, especially as I will be likely to be drinking tonight

Got a works do and feel pretty stuck as to what to choose at the place we are going to here (scroll down to the blackhouse grill)

Now obviously I could go red with no problem, but do you think it is possible to go green?

I am planning on saving all my HE's but today will have to be mix to match if I do that, as I can't do a full day or red.

I'm so desperate to make today the first day of being back on track properly! Meals out with work are such a regular thing I don't feel I can say stuff it for the one night.

What would you do?

peachespaige · 20/02/2008 08:27

Morning all, Well after a row with dp I managed to a)Not drink that bottle of wine and b) only eat 3 after eight straws! Feel very in control now!
Has anyone tried mix to match where you can have say ared lunch and green dinner but frr foods in between as long as they are free on both days eg fruit and yog for breakfast and then pasta and tomato sauce for lunch and steak and chips for tea?

peachespaige · 20/02/2008 08:34

Christie. Im afraid I cant really offer advice but the girls here definately know what they are talking about.
SWLurker just saw your post after me writing about mix to match. Ill have a lokk at you menu.

katylou25 · 20/02/2008 08:38

Hi Lurker, Just had a quick look at your menu - could prob do green if you had veg fajitas - avoid the sour cream and prob not too many syns, could even have chicken ones as HE i guess. Or how about salmon or chicken as HE and have it with new pots or jacket rather than chips? I know I always struggle when I go out - is easier to plan what to have before you go so you're not carried away by temptation ... Must listen to myself in future!! I always end up with chips etc....

peachespaige · 20/02/2008 08:38

Bloody computer wont allow pop ups so Icant see your menu.
I always find if Im having a green day then chicken or fish such as cod or sea food is usually a good heb as you get more of it?

katylou25 · 20/02/2008 08:40

Oh and peaches I occasionally do mix to match but find it quite hard to plan for with He's etc. But i know people in my group who do it all the time and have OK loses.

kid · 20/02/2008 09:38

Christie, are you sure that Chickpea dahl is syn free?
I bought something similar from Tesco or sainsburys and assumed it was fine. I checked it though and it wasn't free after all so I didn't bother eating it!

SWlurker · 20/02/2008 09:42

Thanks everyone. Think I will keep it green, and have a small steak or grilled fish as either 1 or 2 HE's depending on how much of it I eat, and then new pots and veg or salad side dishes. Thats one thing about this place, its to opost to automatically give you chips with everything so more chance to make the right choice!

So I'll have a completely green day. But a question on mix to match, back in the day when I last went to a SW class, our consultant said the book was a mis print and you were supposed to have a green or red breakfast rather than "super free". Anyone know if that is right or wrong? Woudl love to be able to do m2m becuase I can't handle a full red day but I think the odd red meal is good for pepping up my loss.

SWlurker · 20/02/2008 09:44
  • sorry typing too quickly as usual, I meant to say too posh to serve chips!!
SWlurker · 20/02/2008 10:00

Christie, do make sure you get both HEb's and at least 1 A to get your proper intake of fibre and calcium. Fibre helps burnt up fat to pass through your system, and calcium has been proven to help weight loss, hence why SW upped the dose to 1-2 not just 1. I'd say definately have one, and if you have yoghurt or cottage cheese etc don't feel you have to have a second. If you do have a second A, don't feel guilty!

If you are struggling to use all your HE's (wish I had that problem!!) why not eat ceral and milk or toast and cream cheese in the morning for breakfast?

LadybirdG · 20/02/2008 12:51

does anybody know if the Bowyers sausages are sold in Asda? Or which sausages I should buy from ASDA to be free on red? for dh!

ShortandSweet · 20/02/2008 13:56

Hi ladybirdg you can get the green pack in asda or you can go to tesco and they do the red pack as well as the green. green is original flavour and the red has spices added.

misdee · 20/02/2008 14:02

i lost 1lb which is really shokcing as i really pigged out voer valentines day.

LadybirdG · 20/02/2008 14:32

Thanks S - I got the good for you ones in the end - hope they're ok, but they're only for DH so it doesn't matter too much!

well done misdee - I've been a real pig this weekend, weigh in tonight so fingers crossed...!

my syn packed one is still sitting in the cupboard. I refuse to eat it!

I wonder if asda do a syn free veg curry? The tesco one is 6 syns

Fizzylemonade · 20/02/2008 21:19

Just bought those Bowyers sausages, has anyone had them and are they nice?? Plan to bulk out my red day with them as a sort of fry up (well a grill up and a poached egg!) loving HEb bread but feel like that tiny 400g loaf is made for OAP's!! It is what my gran would buy

My usual bread, Tesco rip off of Warburtons Seeded Batch, is 6 syns per slice, that is before I stick anything on it!!!

I really hope everyone is doing well.
