I thought a thread would help keep me motivated.

I started on the 27th December. Weighed in at 15st 12lb after gaining 4 stone over the last 2 years

I set my eating window between 12-6pm.

I don't plan to weigh regularly as I get obsessed with the scales. I really want need to lose 6 stone this year!

Anyone else want to join me?

Evening ladies.

OhHappyDayyy · 14/01/2022 20:38

Woops, posted too soon!
I'm starting tomorrow. I did this a couple of years back but my problem is consistency. I always fail at the first hurdle and usually for me that's social- late night dessert with family etc. But I've got a few big events coming up this year and I NEED to get back into shape (piled it all on when my daughter was born 18 months ago). I'm going to do 12-8ish. I saw a few of you talking about Zero so have downloaded the app. Also just trying to be mindful when I eat. We ordered takeaway last night and usually I make myself finish it all but yesterday I realised I was kind of full after having only half! So had the other half for lunch today :) I really hope I can do this! I think I just need to say no to my social life for a little while

littleselda · 14/01/2022 22:46

I'm now getting used to skipping breakfast and actually it's not so bad anymore, I don't really get hungry until about 11/12. That's probably a good thing!

Unfortunately I haven't lost any weight at all! I'm still hovering around the 61-62kg range Sad

Well It is the 15th and I weighed in! Started New Years. I have lost 9.5 lbs!!!!!! Now to be honest when I went on very low carb, I lost 10 the first week and 5 a week after that , but we all know how that went (otherwise I would not be starting all over!)

I do not feel deprived. My only issue is clock watching for my first meal.

Hope everyone else is doing well

Bonbon21 · 17/01/2022 17:32

Week 1. 13st 9lb
Week 2. 13st 6.75(!) lb.
Week 3. 13st 5.25lb... fell off the wagon last Thursday... chocolate, cake and crisps☹☹...baaaad girl!!!

22in22 · 21/01/2022 17:12

2lbs drop this week - making it 6lbs in 3 weeks.

Routine is working for me so far. I generally fast between 7pm - 10am but as long as I manage no fewer than 14 hours I'm ok with it.

I've been watching what I each during the week, having a large cooked lunch at around 2-3pm and then just fruit or a snack in the evening. At weekends I try to keep to just 2 meals a day (foregoing either breakfast or lunch) but my first meal is always a substantial one.

I expect I will have to properly calorie count soon but this works for now.

How is everyone else getting one?

I'm on week 4 of 16:8 lost 4lb then gained 1lb and now and my weight is just stuck i feel like I'm in a constant weight battle between peri menopause and hashimoto's disease I read all these success stories and think I must be doing something wrong so any tips would be great. Good luck all! XX

Just jumping back in after catching up With the thread

From what I've read in the past and gathered in my own experience 16:8 alone won't be enough to lose unless you are sure you have a calorie deficit. Hence it works well with 5:2 - 2 fast days at 500 calf and 5 days at TDEE calories

I came off the wagon spectacularly for a couple of weeks but have changed what I’m doing and back on track. I’m doing OMAD now, I eat anything I like between 4pm-5pm.

I’m on day 3 of this one, bit hardcore but I’m surviving. (Not finding it that difficult in all honesty!)

I weighed this morning and I’m 15st 8.5lb so 3.5lb lighter than my original post a month ago.

Reason I changed from having a 6 hour eating window is I was still eating too much, losing slowly. Scales were barely moving. I fell off the wagon as I thought what’s the point, but then have had a long hard think why I need to lose weight.

So bit drastic but gone OMAD and got my self back on track and the scales are moving again!

Just trying to eat enough fruit and veg and decent foods in my hour window, no point eating nothing but shit when I only have one big meal a day.

I drink tea / coffee / water all day.

(Ps I did OMAD 9 years ago when I had fertility treatment and needed to lose 2 stone prior to it as my bmi was over, it worked and i lost what I needed too!)

I hope to keep up with this for a bit to lose a good amount then will increase my eating hours again when a chunk of weight has gone.

I just wanted to update incase it’s an incentive to anybody else, a year ago today I posted this.

I lost 4 stone in total after I started this thread.

I am usually full of shit and never follow through despite my best intentions 😂 I have started a diet on January 1st for the last 20 years.

I want to lose another 2 stone but I’m delighted with what progress I have made.

I settled on eating between 4pm-8pm, fasting 20 hours out of 24. I go to the gym 4 times a week for an hour. And make sure I do 10k steps minimum per day.

Incredible. Congratulations. I was posting on here when you started this thread under a different name. I got pregnant so stopped IF for a while but am back to it now and still think it’s great. I eat 11am - 7pm and it just feels like a lifestyle change rather than a diet. I lost a couple of stone before I was pregnant and will just eat like this forever now bar the odd special occasion

How many calories do you consume a day?

timmothysmith01 · 14/02/2023 14:35

You don't eat for a certain amount of time every day or week when you intermittently fast. Alternate-day fasting is one of the more well-liked methods of intermittent fasting. Eat normally one day, then the next day either entirely fast or have one tiny meal of fewer than 500 calories.
