I thought a thread would help keep me motivated.

I started on the 27th December. Weighed in at 15st 12lb after gaining 4 stone over the last 2 years

I set my eating window between 12-6pm.

I don't plan to weigh regularly as I get obsessed with the scales. I really want need to lose 6 stone this year!

Anyone else want to join me?

Second long fast of the week has been a bit harder as I expected but more so because BBF dates meant making a dinner I would normally eat for the rest of the family! I am normally so careful to plan food I don't eat for them on the days I'm fasting Blush

After years of thinking "if I lose x every week I will be y by important date" & getting frustrated/disappointed last year I changed to "I will eat/exercise this way for x weeks" & I found it a revelation. Especially as I never get those impressive first week losses other people seem to & often my body seems to take about 6 weeks to catch up weight wise Confused

Morning everyone - I hope all is going well.

I've been away for a short break but am pleased that I didn't touch alcohol at all, always managed to complete a 15 hour fast, and exercised every day (20+ steps plus some swimming). This mitigated some of the hotel breakfasts and cream teas I had!

So despite the numerous temptations I've lost 1lb. I am aiming for a 10 - 6 eating window today and am back at work next week so need to meal plan carefully. Also a gorgeous day so will get out for a walk at some stage.

Morning all. So far so good. Yesterday was cheese salad twice. That's because I was out at dinner time so just needed to get something quickly after I got back to stay in my eating window. I also ate a sugar free jelly with raspberries which is allowed on low carb. Not sure today will be as good as I'm seeing a girlfriend for lunch but will try to make good choices. I definitely feel less bloated which I'm assuming is because so far I've kept away from bread and carbs apart from biscuitgate on day 2! Looking forward to my first weigh day on Monday.

I had a 20 hour fast unintentionally because my appetite is thankfully decreasing on my return to fasting after 'taking December off'. What a difference, feel much better already after 10 days. Though now I've also cut out alcohol and smoking too (with the exception of my father's birthday a few days ago, oops!)

Going to start Heather Robertson 12 week 1.0 plan tonight too I think, I find the more I exercise, the more I drink and the less hungry I am. Lost around 3 stone since August, only 2 more to go! (unless I feel comfortable with myself before I hit 2stone more)

good morning everyone! I decided not to weigh in today at my one week mark as originally I decided only to weigh in on the first and fifteenth of the month, but my obsessive nature tried to convince me otherwise lol. If I start now, it will become daily and this is not JUST about weight loss but also health. This morning I am STARVING. Yesterday I was very busy and did not have any food until 2pm.then busy again until 9pm when I ate again , so now I have to wait until 1 pm in order to get my 16 hr fast in. arrrhhh. I am in Canada and it is only 10:30 right now! even worse I have to head to work. I own a RESTAURANT so i cannot get my mind off food haha. As we are back in dining lockdown, only take out and delivery and reduced hours, I am trying to do some of the food prep myself rather than bringing in the prep person too early. Today I have to make creamy roasted cauliflower soup And slice the lasanga into ribbons for the lunch feature which is a lasanga stuffed grill cheese sandwich on bakery fresh rye bread with marinara dipping sauce . I am tortured!! my tummy is screaming at me. Wish me luck. I hope i don't dive head first into the vat of soup as it is my fav. By writing this here, I am hoping it will stop me breaking fast early, so I do not have to come back here later today hanging my head in shame lol

I've been fasting for a few years and after a lifetime of being overweight, finally hit my goal weight in my fifties! I've lost 3 stone.

I started off doing 5/2, but after a while I really couldn't be bothered with counting calories and eating such tiny amounts of food. Eventually I tried water fasting and now do this once a week for 36 hours (or twice a week in January as I feel bloated after the Christmas binge) and it keeps the weight off. I don't suggest going straight into this, but it has certainly been a revelation for me.

I started watching Jason Fung on YouTube and to me he makes a lot of sense.

Yesterday wasn't too bad. I had cheese and crackers at my friends house which was better for me than a sandwich I think. I'm still managing to stay away from the bread. No snack in the afternoon which is my usual thing and steak and stir fry for dinner followed by a sugar free jelly and raspberries. I haven't been doing well with drinking water or exercise so it's those 2 things I really need to tackle .Hope everyone has a good weekend.

I've switched my times from 12-6 to 11-5. I don't eat past 5 ish whilst I'm doing this fasting anyway and I thought it made sense to give myself food an hour earlier in the morning.

Just had a subway sandwich meal for lunch.

How's everyone doing?

I did 11-7 today but I feel like I just eat the same amount of food as normal Sad im feeling really hungry today but will try to keep at this!

I stuck to my fasting plan for this week although I ate a couple of biscuits & a slice of bread during my eating window today Hmm anyhoo good enough is good enough

Last week 13st 9lb
Today 13st 6.75(!) lb.
Have eaten normally in 16/8 window... but probably could do more exercise!

Morning all. Day 5 yesterday and 2 poached eggs for lunch. I also ate 2 biscuits, 3 quality street and a small handful of twiglets from the blasted Christmas food stash that is still laying around in the sitting room. Steak with pepper sauce and the rest of the stir fry veg again for dinner. I am sticking to the eating window and still hoping for a loss tomorrow which is my weigh day despite falling off the low carb wagon a few times this week.
Roast chicken and vegetables today - I will avoid the stuffing and yorkshires and will only allow myself one roast potato. Hope everyone is doing O.K.

I'm not weighing myself until I can tell I've lost some weight by how tight my clothes are .
I had porridge with oat milk and a ham sandwich yesterday, today another ham sandwich and having salmon with spinach, rocket and watercress later.

Hi. I'm doing this so would like to join. Can I ask how many black coffees or fruit teas you would have in your fasting window? I'm worried I'm having too many as even those calories add up.

Morning all. Today is my weigh day and I've lost 2lbs which I'm very pleased about especially considering that I haven't consistently stuck to low carb considering the biscuits and sweets I've eaten on a couple of the days.
Today's weight 13st 11.75lbs. It's in the right direction either way so I'm resolving to do better this week.
@lololololollll I think a black coffee is about 2 calories so I wouldn't even worry about that. Sorry but I don't know about fruit tea but imagine it would be similar? I'm supposing of course that you're not using sugar in them though. I don't think either of those drinks wpould cause a problem or need to be limited but I'm no expert.

You should be fine with black coffee and fruit tea I'd imagine. I have a black coffee upon waking each morning to curb any small hunger twangs and it's never had any ill effect on me. I actually used to have about 3 before eating and it didn't honestly cause a noticeable difference, I just wanted to limit my caffeine. I'd only worry if you were adding sugar etc.

I was 15st 8lb this morning. So 4lb total lost since 27th December.

I've just demolished my dinner and still hungry tho. Hurry up teatime 🤣

Please could I join? I've done a week of 16:8 and finding it OK so far. I don't have scales though so going by how my clothes fit. No change yet.

Problem is, I do shift work and am on nights this week and wondering how to manage this.
