New You plan - aiming for 3 stone by Christmas

fallenover · 08/09/2021 15:59

I have stalled at this weight for ages and been on a permanent diet / watching what I eat / walking and keeping active. All to little effect. I feel like I need a boost and to give my metabolism a bit of a shock and get the scales moving downwards.

So I have decided to follow the New You plan and just placed my order.

Anybody want to join me on this journey with the aim of keeping motivated and sharing hints, tips and success stories.

Yes. But not 3 stone as don’t think I’ll manage that. 1.5 would be great. Then another 1.5 by Easter should see me ok ish.

fallenover · 08/09/2021 16:16

3 stone by Christmas would be amazing .... in reality I think it could be 1.5 ... and I would be happy with that.

I’ve just realised I’d like to lose 3.5 stone in total so I’ll have to cram another half stone in there somewhere. 🤣

AudTheDeepMinded · 08/09/2021 17:13

I'd like to join as still trying to shift the baby weight and he's now 6! I would like to lose 2 stone to be at pre baby weight to start with. What is the New You plan?

Wallopbang · 08/09/2021 17:29

Can I join please Grin I've set myself a target to lose at least a stone in 12 weeks. I've broken it down into two six weeks chunks and am weighing myself first thing in the morning on a Wednesday and Saturday.

Started properly on Monday when DD returned to school, and am 3lbs down already from what I weighed on Saturday. I never want to see my weight that high again on my scales!

My plan is to cut out alcohol, and follow the SW way of eating (done it before, lost 3st then gained 4 whilst pregnant and been yo yo-ing ever since) I've put loads of weight on over the last year and just feel and look rubbish.

So this thread couldn't have come at a better time!
Would be great to have some support and offer some over the coming weeks to anyone planning on doing similar. We can do it!

This is the New You plan -

However ALL are welcome to the thread. I appreciate packets are not for everyone - but nothing else is working for me. I saw about the plan on the NHS website.

Hi OP, was the new you plan on NHS website? I thought only Cambridge were NHS approved 🤨🤔.
I've just started new you too, and same goal as you, at least 3 stone by Xmas! 🤞🏼
Although twice that to lose in total 😭.
Have you ordered the everything pack?
I've lost loads on Cambridge in the past but can't afford it before Christmas.
Have you tried Cambridge or any others before?

Hippywannabe · 09/09/2021 16:55

Which pack have you ordered? I am tempted!

Bostonbullsmumma · 09/09/2021 18:30

If you have Facebook join the new you secret slimmers page- they have a great support network and put some good codes for discounts too. I lost 2 stone in 2/3 months with them after my DC (then put a stone back on in lock down after maintaining for ages!! 😫)! Your goal is achievable 🙌

Dogatetheleftovers · 09/09/2021 18:34

Where does the NHS mention it on their website? It’s very tempting but I don’t know if I would have the money to afford it.

Hippywannabe · 09/09/2021 18:39

I can't n't see it on their website

StepawayfromtheBiscuittin · 09/09/2021 18:44

I've done this plan before and have a friend who also did it. Works brilliantly during it and then you need to make sure you manage the transition.
Their Facebook page is super for support. Good luck OP, your goal is achievable.

AudTheDeepMinded · 09/09/2021 18:49

Ok, I'm in! Planning to weigh on a Monday morning only though. Onwards fellow comrades!

Hippywannabe · 09/09/2021 18:59

I am in too! I just ordered the kick start pack. If I get on ok I will commit to the £200 pack as I have birthday money squirrelled away.

fallenover · 09/09/2021 20:52

How nice to see so many of you here!

I committed to the 2 week starter pack and the 100 meals pack. It's not here yet. Seeing the success some of you have had is very encouraging.

I've never tried anything like this before - so not done Cambridge or LighterLife.

Off to find where I saw the NHS recommendation.

I have Covid19 at the moment so won't be starting till Tuesday even if they arrive before. Quite excited now. Haven't been accepted into the fb group yet though

fallenover · 10/09/2021 14:24

My food for the next 4 weeks is here ....

The pineapple boost drink is good. I haven't tried anything else yet as it arrived after lunch.

Just been perusing the fb group. There some amazing losses! If my box arrives tomorrow, I will start on Sunday.

Gemi33 · 11/09/2021 07:46

Hi All

Apologies, it's taken me a while to get here, had a crazy busy week. What day are most people starting / weighing in? I had intended to start today but I have some family stuff going on that is going to make it quite difficult so I'm wondering whether to get the weekend out the way and start Monday.

xx

DameDaffodil · 11/09/2021 08:18

Hi, can I join in please? I did New You 3 years ago and lost 16lbs in 4 weeks. Once I got into it I really enjoyed it.
I bought some packs back in June but have really struggled to get motivated. Anyway, after reading this thread I've decided that today is the day!

user1471604848 · 11/09/2021 08:36

Hi, I'd like to lose 1.5/2 stone by Christmas. I'm normally 9st but went up to 11st after having my twins/lockdown.

I started my diet/lifestyle change last week, and have lost 4 pounds, which is very motivating to continue.
I've cut out bread, crisps and chocolate, and walk 5k steps every day ( and 15k steps at the weekend when I've more time).

Hippywannabe · 11/09/2021 10:29

My parcel is at the depot but a lot of our posties are isolating. I am still hoping it comes today, DH and I are having Indian takeaway tonight and I shall start tomorrow.

Tash6000 · 11/09/2021 21:36

Can I join :) i haven't ordered anything yet as want to see what I can do on my own but if the scales doing get moving then I'll buy the packs. I've managed to drop 18lbs already (was 20 but put 2 back on Hmm). Want to loose another stone if possible so I'm in the middle of a healthy BMI rather than at the top end of healthy. Will weigh in on Mondays or whatever day most people are weighing in 😁 I do like the idea of not having to think too hard about what to eat so maybe I'll buy it anyway 🙈

Hippywannabe · 12/09/2021 09:48

Well done on the weightloss Tash, I am so disappointed my box didn't arrive yesterday.
I am not out of quarantine till Tuesday but am pretty much decided that I might go to Superdrug and buy similar packs if it hasn't arrived by then.
The Secret Slimmers fb group for the New You plan is seeing amazing losses and the girls are lovely.
