New You plan - aiming for 3 stone by Christmas

fallenover · 08/09/2021 15:59

I have stalled at this weight for ages and been on a permanent diet / watching what I eat / walking and keeping active. All to little effect. I feel like I need a boost and to give my metabolism a bit of a shock and get the scales moving downwards.

So I have decided to follow the New You plan and just placed my order.

Anybody want to join me on this journey with the aim of keeping motivated and sharing hints, tips and success stories.

I haven't found the meals grainy. Do you whisk up thoroughly? It also helps to add the water and leave the pasta / noodle dishes for 10-20 mins. I saw that on the Facebook group. I also add less water than they recommend for the meals. I tend now to do a search on the meal pack and see what others have made or suggestions on best prep method.

I like the soup, the shakes and the meal bars. But I think you're only supposed to have one meal bar a day.

@Hippywannabe - any advice?
@fallenover thank you so much for the tips, I've been having the shakes which I love and then a small protein meal in the evening, it's working well 😀 I've lost 5 pounds since Monday, I know it's probably water weight but I feel lots better already 😍

lunacrookshanks · 05/11/2021 07:40
@lunacrookshanks I make the meals up with cold water, whisk them(just a hand whisk) and the microwave for 1 minute, stir then another minute. Then the 3rd minute, I watch like a hawk so it doesn't bubble over and stir about every 10 seconds. I haven't found them grainy.
The sweet noodles one isn't my favourite but it was ok, love the pasta ones.
Thank you, I have not tried any of the other meals as was put off by the ones that I did have but the shakes are yummy and I'm mixing it up a bit x

@Hippywannabe

Forgot to post this week's loss. It was 3lbs so that was 2 stones 5lbs in 7 weeks.
That's amazing!!! Congratulations, you must feel fantastic xx
Zazu44 · 08/11/2021 17:20

About to order my 1st weeks to see how it goes. Any advice on what's nice and what to avoid. I've heard the porridge isn't good.

Hippywannabe · 10/11/2021 22:14

Hi @Zazu44 , hope you are OK. If you haven't ordered yet, I have a referral code you could use, I am now up to 2 stones and 8lbs in 8 weeks with this week's 3 lbs loss.
I am not keen on porridge or pancakes so used the porridge sachet to make 'biscuits'
I love all the bars, shakes and soups, my favourite meals are the pasta, Indian Dahl, Mexican Tacos and cottage pie. Some don't look all that great but I have liked the taste of everything. The burgers are my least favourite but amde small and with added chilli, they are OK.
The best thing is that I genuinely don't feel hungry. I have 4 weeks to go before my first refeed fortnight and I am hoping to get my 3 stones loss by then.
I genuinely am evangelical about the plan!

Zazu44 · 10/11/2021 22:24

Thanks so much @Hippywannabe that's so useful. Do you have milk in your drinks at all or sweetner?
Your results are amazing I'm definitely going to order.

Hippywannabe · 11/11/2021 21:31

@Zazu44 I don't have milk as I don't like the taste of it (am OK with shakes though).
Make sure you post back on here and let us know how you get on. X

Hippywannabe · 17/11/2021 21:26

This week's weigh in was 4lbs off. 40lbs in 9 week's. I am keeping all crossed to hit than 3 stones next week. How is everyone else doing?

Zazu44 · 18/11/2021 18:04

Finally got my box this eve! 2 weeks supply. Should I start tomorrow or have binge and start Monday. X

Hippywannabe · 19/11/2021 16:19

Try not to thinknof it as a binge, more of eat your favourite foods to celebrate a fresh start.
Make sure you take your measurements. I have had to pack away all my work dresses for a sizelr as they were hanging!

TheOriginalNutty · 19/11/2021 16:33

Hi all, just been scrolling through this thread to find out the name of the plan lol, finally found it.

I'm really interested in this as I need to lose around 3 1/2 stone. In the past though I've found it hard to stick to things like this. I also wonder what happens after you lose the weight ?? I wouldn't want to be stuck on the plan forever.

I've had a quick look at the site but could someone be kind enough to explain the plan in simple terms to me Smile

Hippywannabe · 19/11/2021 18:44

Hi @TheOriginalNutty it is a fab plan based on total food replacement.
I started on September 14 and hope to be at 3 1/2 ones off by mid December.
You can go all in and do just packs or do the New You Plan Switch programme which is packs with a healthy low calorie evening meal.
You order the packs online and then get admittance to a really supportive FB group. Bundles work out the cheapest way to do the plan.
There are crisps that you can have each day or 3 times a week you can have snacks you can buy.i have honestly never felt hungry on the plan.
Each day have a shake, a soup, a meal and a bar. I have crisps at least 3 times a week.
There are free downlaodable workbooks to help work through why we overeat and how to be confident etc and once a week there is a free online motivational talk.
There are no fees at all.
If you want a referral code, let me know and then we will both get £10 off an order.
Let mie know f you need any more info.
PS you could have any combination of packs that you like.

Hippywannabe · 19/11/2021 18:48

Oh and after 12 weeks on plan, they ask you to do a 2 week refeed with low calorie food before starting again.
Again, that supported in the FB group with ideas for meals.
When you are finally there, there is like a refeed to try to make sure you introduce food carefully and slowly so as not to go back to bad habits.
It has really made me think about portion sizes.

TheOriginalNutty · 20/11/2021 11:40

Thank you Hippy that's all really helpful. I think I'm gonna give it a try on payday Smile

Hippywannabe · 20/11/2021 16:32

@TheOriginalNutty yay, welcome to the club x

It's a great plan as @Hippywannabe says. I'm a slower loser than Hippywannabe but will have made over 2 stone at the 12 week point. The only other thing is lots of liquid 4 litres a day. Good Luck

5lbs off this week (have had flu) and cracked another stone barrier. I have lost 45lbs (3stones and 3lbs) in 10 weeks. Love this plan!

Zazu44 · 23/11/2021 23:42

Well done @Hippywannabe that's fantastic.
I'm on day 3 tomorrow, mixed feelings so far.

Hippywannabe · 24/11/2021 17:30

@Zazu44 in what way? Can I help?

Zazu44 · 24/11/2021 18:17

@Hippywannabe I only managed 2 meals yesterday, the 1st day I had cottage pie which was awful. Today I have had a stomach cramps and bad D&V ( not sure if it related) after I had a morning shake. Tonight I had a dry cracker as I still feel 🤢 can't face the diet food. I'm struggling with the main meals

fallenover · 25/11/2021 22:31

Hi @Zazu44 that sounds extreme - I’m not aware of seeing that mentioned before in the Facebook group. How are you feeling today?

Hippywannabe · 02/12/2021 07:34

I did 3lbs this week so am on target for the 12 week weigh in to have lost 50lbs!

Hippywannabe · 07/12/2021 07:00

I did it!
50lbs off in 12 weeks. Now on refeed for 2 weeks then back on it

Hippywannabe · 14/12/2021 07:38

First week of refeed and 3lbs off. I started in the 18s and now have 3 more lbs to get into the 13s. Absolutely mind-blowing.
When I first clicked on this thread, I never believed it would be possible to lose 3 stones from mid September to Xmas, but I have lost 4!
To anyone thinking of this plan, do it!

You have been amazing - I thought it was crazy when I started the thread. I started in the 13s and I am now in the 11s with over 2 stones lost. That's a 12 year old child we have lost between us!

How is everybody else doing?
