New You plan - aiming for 3 stone by Christmas

fallenover · 08/09/2021 15:59

I have stalled at this weight for ages and been on a permanent diet / watching what I eat / walking and keeping active. All to little effect. I feel like I need a boost and to give my metabolism a bit of a shock and get the scales moving downwards.

So I have decided to follow the New You plan and just placed my order.

Anybody want to join me on this journey with the aim of keeping motivated and sharing hints, tips and success stories.

@Hippywannabe have you maintained, do you jump on and off the plan and has it changed your food habits? I am a snacker and emotional eater with binges at times. I needed a reset. Also can you tell me what a refeed is please? Xx

Hippywannabe · 04/05/2022 22:38

@pinkpapaya hi, I have been able to maintain more or less since mid February until we went on a last minute holiday over Easter. I gained 7lbs so have gone back now for round 2 of total meal replacement. I am hoping to stick to it for 50 days and be down to goal weight then.
I found the refeed the hardest part, after 12 weeks you need to increase calorie intake to kind of reset the body. You can either join the New You Switch fb group and switch to calorie counting or just have extra packs. My refeed was hard because it started 3 days before Xmas. By about the 28th December, I was feeling stressed by all the food in the house, so went back to mainly packets.
I am a binge eater and I think that will always be my emotional response to upsets. However, I now recognise that a blip really isn't going to make that much difference, giving up and continuing to blip will! I genuinely feel like I have overall control now which I never thought I would feel.
I intend to keep going till I reach my 100lbs loss. Have you got a target in mind?

pinkpapaya · 05/05/2022 21:58

Hi @Hippywannabe, thanks so much for giving me the info. I need to lose about 4 stones though 4.5 would be better. I am sick of beinv overweight and my BP is very high. I think what flicked the switch is that I have been walking around feeling so unhealthy and like I am almost goinv to blow a gasket internally. It is imperative to shift this weight even if I regain a stone of it, better to be 1 stone overweight than nearly 5 so it will give me leeway. I tried WW and I was doing OK until they did their 2 yearly change up and totally made the plan into something unpalatable to live with (blue plan at the time and only so much chicken and lentils I could eat!). It threw me totally off track and I never managed to regain my mojo.
I have been ill with covid and bed bound this week so I started on May 2nd (today is the 5th) figuring well I am feeling crap anyway and headachey so if I get the carb withdrawal stuff, I won't be any worse than I already feel and I haven't found it bad at all. I really enjoy the shakes, soups and bars. The meals were an adjustment - not keen on the Noodle Nosh but the Pasta Carbonara was lovely and the Four Cheese Pasta I had tonight wasn't bad. I haven't felt hungry though yesterday I did have an extra bar (think I needed the calories as I have been ill) and have been guzzling water. I had a delivery of crisps today and what a revelation! I did think they were too dear but with how filling and tasty they are, defo worth every penny so now planning on a bar for breakfast (never really hungry in the morning), soup/crisps for lunch and a meal followed by a shake for dinner. The shakes are really nice and creamy, almost feel like pudding. I did a cheeky jump on the scales today even though I know you aren't supposed to and in 3 days, I am 5 pounds down!!

pinkpapaya · 09/05/2022 09:00

Week 1 weigh in and I am 9 pounds down!!! 🎉🎉🎉 It hasn't really been painful to stick to the diet at all. The crisps have made a difference. It would have taken me 3 weeks to lose that on WW.

Tantastic12 · 11/05/2022 22:20

Hi been reading up on this plan and sounds perfect for me! Anyone got a referral code? Thanks 😊

pinkpapaya · 12/05/2022 12:41

@Tantastic12 if you DM me, I will give you my email to add to your first order so then you and I both get a 10 quid credit x

zobalina77 · 12/05/2022 14:25

Hi, I'm day 12 into new you plan. I'd lost 7 stone on exante previously but have gained 3 back during the last 2 years. I decided to try a different plan this time and loving it so far, especially the bacon crisps! Being able to have something with a bit of crunch to it is amazing. I've done a huge order so I'm in for a couple of months. I didn't lose anything in week 1 which was a bit infuriating but my waist definitely feels smaller now so hoping I'll have lost this week.

pinkpapaya · 12/05/2022 16:20

@zobalina77 it is nice to have something with a different texture isn't it? Hope it is goung well for you

Hippywannabe · 14/05/2022 22:12

Hi all, have been missing for a few days, we gained a beautiful granddaughter on the 5th of May and she had few health 8ssues. All seems OK now though,
Hope you are all finding the plan OK still.
I too have referral code if anyone wants one.
@pinkpapaya I hated the Noodle Nosh the 1st week, not it is one of my faves. I think your taste buds change as you go along.

Hippywannabe · 14/05/2022 22:13

Now it is one of my faves that should say

pinkpapaya · 15/05/2022 09:22

@Hippywannabe Congratulations on the birth of your grandaughter! Sorry thete was cause for concern but glad to hear she is ok mow. How exciting for you all! 🎉🎉🎉

pinkpapaya · 20/05/2022 21:34

Into the next stone bracket now. 1stone and 1 pound lost in under 3 weeks which is phenomenal! When I started this, I had gained extra weight on top of my 'overweight', was walking around feeling as though I was going to blow a gasket internally and just thought 'I am killing myself slowly with this weight'. I knew I wasn't in the right mindset for slow and steady or anything that required me to think about food and so this has been fantastic! For the first time in years I feel like I can beat this overweight stuff once and for all and that is incredibly freeing. I even went to the supermarket with a friend and all my binge foods just left me cold. I am so glad I found this thread and read everyone's posts. I am feeling so positive about my body and weight issue gor the first time in years!!

Hippywannabe · 03/06/2022 09:10

Well done. How is everyone doing? I am maintaining completely but trying to get back on the wagon.
I am delighted to be able to maintain after being so strict on the plan, even went away for a few days this week involving eating out and meals with friends and still haven't gained.
Realistically looking at the same for this week and then hopefully back for the last 3 weeks before going away with the school activities week.

dolorsit · 03/07/2022 12:01

Hello everyone - how are you all doing?

I'm up to 2 1/2 stone weight loss over a 4 month period. I'm following the switch plan so obviously it's going to be coming off at a slower rate but it is still much quicker than any other diet.

I actually don't really feel like I am on a diet so I'm fully motivated to lose another 1 1/2 stone to get into a healthy weight range.

I just want to say thanks to everyone who posted about the plan as I was always a bit dubious about meal replacement diets.

KurriKawari · 10/07/2022 22:57

Really enjoying reading all your stories. Please could someone share a referral code with me :) thank you.

pinkpapaya · 17/08/2022 20:29

Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you know I hit target! 3 and a half stones off since early May! I am thrilled! Now doing NYP Switch for maintainance. I have put 25 sachets of savoury meals/soups on ebay for £1 each if anyone is interested. I use shakes only now and a low carb meal at night now so won't use the sachets. They are all well in date, unopened etc. How is everyone doing?

Ahnobother · 17/08/2022 21:54

@pinkpapaya well done! That's lovely news to hear.
I've been a disaster, actually put more weight on. I really struggled with my MH this year and I'm only getting back in to the zone now, currently on day three and am sticking with it so far.
I've loads of stuff here, aiming for my goal this Christmas instead of last one now!

Kittensgalore · 18/08/2022 08:09

@pinkpapaya

That's brilliant well done! I am new to the thread but read back over it last night. So good to hear some success stories. I'm the biggest I've ever been. Have done VLCD before but never for v long. More determined this time. On day 10 I think and I've lost around 8 ibs so far. Previously have been been reluctant to weigh myself but bought some scales a couple of weeks ago and was horrified by how heavy I had got.

Gave me the push I needed to commit to this again. Have a mix of products, Exante and shake the weight and eating low carb meals too. Aiming for 800 a day.

Will have a look at eBay too and see if I can find your products.

Good luck with the maintenance, if I ever shift all that I've put on that will be the big challenge for me, maintaining it.

Kittensgalore · 18/08/2022 08:11

@Ahnobother

Good luck with the plan, I think getting started and days 1-3/4 are the toughest for me so you've done brilliant to get this far.

Ahnobother · 18/08/2022 08:49

Thanks @Kittensgalore good luck to you too!

Hippywannabe · 22/08/2022 05:14

@pinkpapaya well done!
I am trying to get myself organised to get back on it!

Clixsy · 30/08/2022 22:48

Hi all, I'm looking at starting this and have got to the checkout. It says if I provide an email address of a friend on the plan we both get a £10 voucher. Would anyone be prepared to dm theirs? Thanks 🙏

Hippywannabe · 31/08/2022 08:41

Kittensgalore · 31/08/2022 13:16
