New You plan - aiming for 3 stone by Christmas

268 replies

fallenover · 08/09/2021 15:59

I have stalled at this weight for ages and been on a permanent diet / watching what I eat / walking and keeping active. All to little effect. I feel like I need a boost and to give my metabolism a bit of a shock and get the scales moving downwards.

So I have decided to follow the New You plan and just placed my order.

Anybody want to join me on this journey with the aim of keeping motivated and sharing hints, tips and success stories.

@fallenover well done! I am considering weighing next week just to see if I do make the 2 stones mark but then trying to hold off till my 1st 12 weeks are up. I know it will slow down soon and I don't want to be disheartened.
Also quite glad that my refund fortnight will be 7th to 21st December so I will hopefully be back on it over the festive period (although I do plan to blip on Xmas Day)

Hippywannabe · 26/10/2021 17:23

I made it to my 1st goal ! Lost another amazing 5lbs this week which takes me to 2 stones and 2lbs off in 6 weeks.

@nicecheesegromit can I help with any questions that you have? I am practically evangelical about the program because I have found it easy. One of my best friends in real life has just started too.
I just took advantage of the latest offer and when my delivery arrives, I will have enough supplies in till almost the end of January!

@fallenover

3 stone by Christmas would be amazing .... in reality I think it could be 1.5 ... and I would be happy with that.
So today - I hit 1.5 stone off - I am amazed! So glad I found this plan it works for me. Now trying for the next 1.5 stone by Christmas.

Also do your measurements and photos! Good Luck. I'm a big fan of jelly to help with the water consumption. Do a search on the Facebook group to find how to make it, (although I cheat and use the Hartley's sugar free powder but on the group you cannot mention alternatives! 🙄

Ohhh great tip, thank you 😀 was just wondering how I would manage to drink all that water! Have you both stuck at it 100%? Am kicking myself I didn't do this in lockdown, would have been so much easier 🤣

Hippywannabe · 30/10/2021 21:42

Yes, I have stuck to it 100%, I think that is the 1st time I have ever stuck to a plan totally, I haven't even been tempted to do a weigh night binge!

fallenover · 31/10/2021 14:26

@lunacrookshanks

I have four packs a day - 2 at lunch time then 2 at supper time. Water - did you ask this question on the group? Somebody asked this morning - here's my answer

Here is my fluid breakdown -
Pineapple boosts - 3 in the morning made with boiling water - I use a large mug so that’s 1 litre done.

Peach drainer When I’ve had all the pineapple boosts I make up a peach drainer which is 1.5 litres which I drink through the rest of the day.
Spiced Ginger tea bags - 2 of those in the large mug (ie 2 drinks)
1 coffee - with milk from the allowance
Jelly - 1/2 litre.

@lunacrookshanks yes 100% but I've had 3 meals out which were pre-planned. I just made sure to not go over the calorie count, made wise choices and adjusted my packs for the day accordingly.

Thank you, that's really helpful!! I saw that post, wasnt but was good timing 🤪
I was planning on doing 4 throughout the day, is it better to do it twice then?

Ohhh what is the calorie count we are supposed to be on?

fallenover · 31/10/2021 20:24

@lunacrookshanks

I just found that 2 x 2 works for me. I wax also trying to combine with a bit of fasting / reducing the hours I eat - so first pack about 12.30. Last pack about 7 pm.

OP posts:
fallenover · 31/10/2021 20:29

@lunacrookshanks - you're meant to have 800-850 calories per day.

Cool, thank you! I must admit I am struggling a bit with the meals 😬 they seem a bit grainey and I was not even able to eat the sweet and sour noodles. I really want to stick at this but not sure I can stomach the meals- should I stick to soups and shakes?

fallenover · 02/11/2021 20:01

@lunacrookshanks

I haven't found the meals grainy. Do you whisk up thoroughly? It also helps to add the water and leave the pasta / noodle dishes for 10-20 mins. I saw that on the Facebook group. I also add less water than they recommend for the meals. I tend now to do a search on the meal pack and see what others have made or suggestions on best prep method.

I like the soup, the shakes and the meal bars. But I think you're only supposed to have one meal bar a day.

@Hippywannabe - any advice?

OP posts:
Hippywannabe · 04/11/2021 16:19

@lunacrookshanks I make the meals up with cold water, whisk them(just a hand whisk) and the microwave for 1 minute, stir then another minute. Then the 3rd minute, I watch like a hawk so it doesn't bubble over and stir about every 10 seconds. I haven't found them grainy.
The sweet noodles one isn't my favourite but it was ok, love the pasta ones.

Hippywannabe · 04/11/2021 16:20

Forgot to post this week's loss. It was 3lbs so that was 2 stones 5lbs in 7 weeks.
