New You plan - aiming for 3 stone by Christmas

I have stalled at this weight for ages and been on a permanent diet / watching what I eat / walking and keeping active. All to little effect. I feel like I need a boost and to give my metabolism a bit of a shock and get the scales moving downwards.

So I have decided to follow the New You plan and just placed my order.

Anybody want to join me on this journey with the aim of keeping motivated and sharing hints, tips and success stories.

I'm not too keen on the curried daal. The second time I mixed it with the four cheese pasta - it was better but I shall probably skip for my next order. Otherwise, I have been fine with everything. I thought about joining the switch group - but that might be too tempting. I don't have the daily crisps / snacks - so my small amount of low carb veg probably equals out.

I only saw about the diet on Mumsnet.

I lost another 5lbs on 2nd weigh in, a stone in 2 weeks.
I am not overkeen on the burgers, they can be made to look like burgers but they aren't amazing. I have liked everything else particularly the pasta dishes.
Still finding it relatively easy.
I did buy 10 packets of the cheese crisps, they are probably the best crisps I have ever tasted so I treat myself to a packet on weigh in day. I am determined to cut out my dreadful snacking so it is going well!

Hippywannabe · 05/10/2021 16:15

Did another 3lbs this week. 17lbs in 3 weeks. Very happy

StepawayfromtheBiscuittin · 05/10/2021 19:05

I have boxes in the house, need to get back on this diet, popped on to see how it was going for you @Hippywannabe and it sounds brilliant!

Hippywannabe · 05/10/2021 21:21

Do it @StepawayfromtheBiscuittin !
@fallenover how are you doing?
@therealmrsjolly did you start?

I've a wedding this weekend but see you all on Monday for it!

Hippywannabe · 11/10/2021 07:44

@StepawayfromtheBiscuittin hope the wedding went well and you are ready for a new week.
If anyone is tempted by the crisps on the plan, they are amazing and you get quite a good size portion. I thought they were quite expensive to start with, but now wouldn't be without them.

StepawayfromtheBiscuittin · 11/10/2021 07:51

@Hippywannabe
Thanks for the prompt! Here I am today.
It was super fun, bit strange after such a long time.
But the pics... oh god, I don't know what shape I am. Frightful.

And yes to the crisps being fab. I like most items apart from the pasta and I struggle with the shakes, more because I've got issues with texture rather than the taste.

I had the carbonara mixed with the daal and they were both much improved as a combination!

I got some of the peach drainer - one sachet mixes with 1.5 litres water. I shall get more on my next order.

I make the shakes with more water.

I lost another 5 lbs this week, that takes me to 1 stone and 8 lbs off in 4 weeks. Unbelievable!

Procrastination4 · 13/10/2021 08:40

@fallenover-are you hoping to lose 3 stone by Christmas 2021, or did you mean Christmas 2022? I thought you meant the former until I looked at the screenshot you included. I would have thought 2021 was impossible, but, considering that Hippywannabe has lost 1.5 stone in 4 weeks, perhaps it isn’t. (Well done, by the way, to Hippywannabe. )

Whichever it is, best of luck with it. I’ve been faffing about with the same 2 stone for the past 2 years, but am trying the more traditional route. If I could cut out chocolate I’d be at my goal by now but my willpower is very poor when it comes to sweet stuff. There’s no way I’d have the willpower to stick to something like the plans you all are following!

Hello! Hope you don't mind me crashing this. Have been 15st (5ft6) since the birth of Dd 18 months ago. Was 13ish before falling pregnant her but would like to get to 12ish.
We would like another baby but at 38 and at this weight I'm not sure my body could take it so I am hoping to get as healthy as I can before starting TTC next spring/summer.
I've ordered the 7 day plan and looking forward to starting!!

fallenover · 13/10/2021 14:55

@Procrastination4 I will defo have done 1.5 stone by Christmas and probably be at 2 or over. 3 is more likely to be in January / February.I shall be off plan for Christmas.

Those results will be pretty impressive if/when you get there. Best of luck with it! I’m on Day 2 without chocolate here! Hoping for a loss of 11pounds by Christmas (fingers crossed!)

fallenover · 13/10/2021 21:27

@Procrastination4

And drink lots of water as well! Good Luck

Hippywannabe · 14/10/2021 07:23

Hi @Procrastination4 and @aprilshowers2015
I have to say that this is the easiest plan I have ever stuck to, the fact that everything is taken care of, I just don't have to think about food.
I have made up packs containing a shake, soup, meal and bar and pick a pack a day, it's like a lucky dip.
It's odd because normally I would be thinking of 'bad food' that I would that myself too when I finish but this time, I actually fancy a big salad! Not having to make decisions about food is so freeing.

Procrastination4 · 14/10/2021 14:55

Yes I totally get the huge advantage of not having to think about planning meals. I have about five or six days of meals that I repeat. Lunch is always the hardest as I tend take sandwiches to work as they are faster to eat (we have 2x20 mins breaks, changed from our more traditional breaks because of covid) and, on days when I’m on yard duty (I’m a teacher and have yard at one break, three days out of four) I tend to eat my sandwiches at first break (10.20am) and then have nothing until dinner at 6. That’s when I hit the chocolate big time on my way home. So I’m trying to plan so that I’ll actually eat some of my sandwiches out in the yard, but remembering to make tea in the classroom and then jjuggling a keepcup and sandwich while watching the children is a bit of a faff. I should probably just stick with water with my sandwiches. It’d be another way to make sure I’m drinking enough!
I’m going to be spending midterm coming up with easy school lunches and a wider variety of dinners (half the recipe for the freezer each time, to make things easier every few days.). Then I’ll just have to make sure I don’t stop at a shop on the way home from school!

I'm thinking of ordering- I have done this diet a few years ago but lockdown undid all my good work- any pack recommendations before I order? There seems to be a better variety now- are the soups nice??
Well done to everyone!!

My fave meals are the Mexican tacos and the chilli meal. I also like the noodle dishes.

I bought the pineapple boosters on my first order - but have just got some of the peach drainers. The peach drainer mixes up with 1.5 litres of water - which is a big plus for helping with the water consumption. I recently got some of the water flavourings which you can use to make up jelly ( mix with gelatine powder). The jelly counts as water consumption. The flavourings are also good sprinkled on the pancakes.

I like all the soups. I don't buy the snacks.

I expect you already have an account but if you need to open a new account just pm me if you want a referral code.

I'm really enjoying it. The Facebook group is very supportive and they have some good sessions with a coach / workbooks tackling the headspace stuff and getting g into healthy habits.

Good Luck

I have lost another 3 lbs, that is 25lbs in 5 weeks. Really keeping everything crossed for 3lbs next week to make 2 stones and that will drop me down into the next stone bracket.

fallenover · 20/10/2021 10:16

@Hippywannabe - that is so good! I'm noticing on the Facebook group that mileage varies - I guess there are so many factors - age, gender etc. I may be at 1.5 stone next week - hopefully before end October. I was going to be thrilled if I made that by Christmas - so for me this is a very positive experience. Need to get some extra holes punched in my belt - it's too loose!
