Crossover Thread for Conception x Weight Loss

A thread for ladies TTC and TTLW (Trying To Lose Weight!). Maybe your worried your weight is impacting on conceiving, maybe you're thinking ahead to a healthy future pregnancy and birth, making you're planning fertility treatment and want to ensure you meet criteria.

Woah @fallingup well done. Suppose it depends what you're short on for the day? Nuts are good! Not done hello fresh before, people I've spoke to rate it though.

Just managed to reach my activity levels for the day. Finished work late then DH not back until late so I couldn't get out but made it 👍🏼

@fallingup wow... I have always struggled to eat fewer calories in a day 😆 even on a good day I will have consumed 800-1000 before I finish work 😂

@IsabelHerna welcome!! I have PCOS too, so my plan is to keep my carbs and sugar consumption low.

Standard food day for me today:

  • low sugar muesli (
  • Greek yogurt + blueberries
  • cuppa soup + wrap (I had to work through lunch 🙄)
  • peanuts + Brazil nuts
  • meatballs in tomatoes with brown pasta
  • sneaky biscuit 😁

Low sugar muesli I buy is Dorset Cereals, gloriously nutty (for whoever asked). I think I got this one in Waitrose, but assume you could get in any supermarket?? (Unless it's a local brand)

I did not eat badly or especially well today. But I’ll get back on it and try to be strict tomorrow. I have a week until my Guys appointment, if I can be strict I might be able to shift a pound by then. Except I can’t walk far etc, but I did do 6k round the house today and will be decorating at the weekend. That should burn some calories.

@IsabelHerna welxome! I may or may not be in your PCOS/PCO club, it remains unclear

@Juno231 My goal is also 1lb per week but it’s hard going 🥴.

I will try to report back with tomorrow’s food and aim to rein it in after the migraine days upped my carbs and calories.

The Troo granola looks yummy 😋 I'll keep an eye out for it on my next shop. I'm not sure anything will be a decent substitute for Nutella though 😆

Morning ladies... down 0.8lbs making that 2.4lbs since Monday🤭 i actually feel a lot less bloated this morning which is nice☺️

Good morning ladies!

So, I managed to go out for a walk - okay not the 5km I aimed for, but 4km...- and last night I caved in and had junk food Sad

I will try to eat only veggies today and drink lots of water to even it out.

How are you dealing with late-night cravings? Normally that's the time when I start worrying about the future and if IVF is going to work etc, and then before I know it, I am eating crap.

@IsabelHerna I'm the same as you, night time snacking was 100% my downfall! But I keep drinking after dinner right through until bedtime... I also start doing my workout at 7.30/8ish so it keeps me distracted and my belly is full of water 🤣🙃

I’m back to somewhat normal today. Had 0% Greek yogurt, raspberries, honey and flaxseed for breakfast. Did also have a chocolate digestive but still only 193kcal.

Going to make a big batch of veggie chilli at lunchtime and drink lots of water.

@isabelherna yup, night time is my downfall too... I always have a snack in the evening (usually its chocolate 🍫😋).

I had a naughty lunch today:

  • slice of toasted sourdough with a fried egg and 1 x veggie sausage

However... I massively regret it now as I feel super nauseous 😞

@thislittlebird yes decorating is a serious calorie burner. We finished our house Reno/extension earlier this year and I think I was a lot more fit then. Hope you shifted your migraine they're horrible ☹️

@IsabelHerna yes evening snacking after all the days stress is my downfall too. Drinking water/fruit tea helps but then I'm up in the night for a wee and struggle to get back to sleep 🙈 late workout like @fallingup is a good idea. Im doing that tonight as down on my activity rings 😊

@Kay00 lunch sounds lonely, not THAT naughty! Sorry its making you now feel ill! Metformin sounds nasty 😷

Well... I seriously fell off the waggon this afternoon 😬🤪 I felt too sicky to eat the omlet I had planned for tea... so I ate TWO jam doughnuts 🙈🙈 I need to do a lot better tomorrow!!

@IsabelHerna I try and plan my post dinner snack so i don't cave in and eat random stuff. When on a diet that usually means having nice herbal teas around and dark chocolate. Luckily OH participates in that evening tradition so he's not sat next to me munching on crisps whilst I'm trying to be good

Was it someone on here who asked if my orange chocolate was green and blacks? Just realised I forgot to reply - but no that's probably my least favourite brand! I go either for Lindt or Co-op's own.

@fallingup I used to do hellofresh but found gousto much yummier. Currently doing neither but got a big discount waiting for me with hellofresh so tempted to use that up...

72.9kg today - down from 74.7 on Monday yay! Goal for next week is to stay in the 72s as that would be rare for me.

Yesterday I had a massive biscoff donut in the afternoon and a pulled pork bao with veg but also a portion of chips for lunch (my work canteen is amazing). No dinner as I was out for leaving drinks but had plenty of alcohol calories to compensate....

Tonight I have dinner at a friend's house but on the bright side will probably not want any alcohol after last night lol

I've partially fallen off the wagon, I'm still eating ok, 3 healthy meals and calorie controlled snacks. I haven't really been to the gym, I'm struggling with tiredness 😫 I'm getting about 7 hours sleep a night but waking up feeling like I haven't slept at all and been hit by a bus in the night. I haven't really budged any weight since starting, about 2-3 pounds even though I'm genuinely eating well and still averaging about 15k steps a day without the gym. I've booked a GP appointment next week Because I just feel like something off (I'm suspicious of my thyroid) hopefully they can shed some light (probably not though, cue the fob-off)

Hi there, just went off the wagon! It's not even nighttime and I was stress eating ice cream.

@bez91 I will try the water and tea you suggested and maybe the trips to the loo can be considered as exercise? Halo no?

@Juno231 To be honest I never thought about planning late night snacks, I always try to cut them off completely and that's my mistake, so I will do it from tonight on.

I also excersiced yesterday, and I will go today as well (3rd day in a row!)

I’ve done ok so far today. Was busy and only had a banana for breakfast, some olives, two crackers and a bit of hummus for lunch. Then some lentil crisps and a nectarine. Not a lot really, plus veggie chilli tonight.

Probably for the best since I can’t walk far/run.

Can I join in? I have a BMI of 32 and cycle 2 of ttc baby 2 - just did a test at 10DPO feeling so hopeful this month and the test is whiter than white. Im convinced it's my weight affecting fertility as I got my BFP with baby 1 on cycle 1 last time.

Having a takeaway tonight but will be calorie counting and doing 10k steps a day from tomorrow. Im an emotional eater so will also be working on that.

@Juno231 oooh I've never tried gousto! I have been doing hellofresh for a year 😍 it means I get proper meals in rather than sticking on something quick but awful for me after work 😅 i prefer sweet snacks 🤤 I'd never get sick of cake, chocolate, ice cream... what about you?

Hello from Cornwall! We've been on holiday here for a few days and I feel ready to stop eating and drinking already!

We're self catering so going to try and be good so I don't gain a stone before I get home next week!

I weighed myself today and I’ve gone up a bit 😑. 10st 3lbs now. Shouldn’t be too shocked, I sprained by ankle so I’m limited in what I can do, we had Chinese last night after decorating the spare room so I’ll make sure to drink lots of water today before my ivf appointment tomorrow at Guys. I really wanted to drop even one pound before I get weighed but the universe conspired against me.
