@Juno231 Yep, big 30 yesterday. Definitely consumed to much food and alcohol. Plan for today is healthy food shop and hopefully the gym!

fallingup · 24/08/2021 10:42

@ChinChilly aww happy birthday!! 🥰

@Juno231 I'm also down 0.5kg! The wonders of drinking lots of water 🙃

@professionalcockney nice one, a good start for you too! 👏🏻

Juno231 · 24/08/2021 11:38

@ChinChilly oh yes the big one!! Congrats! Def diet breaking worthy Grin

@fallingup haha right? I need to replicate that today with another 3 litres if I can.

Juno231 · 24/08/2021 14:21

Managed to hit 10k steps by 2pm and hit the gym at lunch! Stuck to sushi and diet coke for lunch so kept it light.

Dinner is chicken breast with wedges and salad. Secretly hoping to hit 15k steps by the end of the day.

I think I've had some renewed enthusiasm this week due to realising it's 18 weeks until Christmas and that if I manage just 0.5kg per week that's still a whopping 9kg I could lose by the end of the year. I'd love that!

thislittlebird · 24/08/2021 15:22

@Juno231 that would be great!

I’ve ended up being unwell for the last two days. Felt really nauseous and had a migraine come on gradually. My DH thinks it’s stress. But obviously I’m not moving much or eating well between migraine, nausea and a sprain which is frustrating. I need to do some exercise this week that’s not leg related.

Juno231 · 24/08/2021 15:46

@thislittlebird that sucks - another one! Stress is very possible - would you be able to have a deep tissue massage to release some of the tension in your neck and head perhaps? Do you ever find it's linked to your cycle though - eg that you get migraines around ovulation or in the TWW?

bez91 · 24/08/2021 15:49

10k steps at lunch yesterday and all those today @Juno231 😳 that's great!

@ChinChilly happy birthday for yesterday! Being 30 is as good of excuse as any to go all out on booze and food!

Mega down on steps today, that's the downside of doing a lot of driving about the county for work, flexed off for an hour so trying to get them in now before pick up time!

thislittlebird · 24/08/2021 16:03

@Juno231 it definitely usually is linked to hormones for me. Ovulation and period time is usually migraine time. But this one I’m not sure about, I just finished antibiotics a few days ago so maybe that delayed ovulation. It it’s good old stress. Weird thing is my migraine pattern stopped as of last autumn, makes me worry it’s old age. Hopefully it’s ttc stress causing it again.

I’m booked in for acupuncture next week but you know what, a massage is a good idea. I might book one somewhere.

@ChinChilly belated happy birthday! I really enjoyed 30.

Kay00 · 24/08/2021 16:24

@thislittlebird I second a massage... soooo relaxing. I have heard acupuncture is relaxing too Smile

@ChinChilly Happy Birthday !!! I hope you had an excellent time Grin Wine

To whoever had the lasagne last night... that is truly one of the best foods on the planet - yum!!

I have been pretty good so far today:

  • Low sugar muesli
  • 1/2 carton of soup + 1 x wholegrain wrap
  • cherries, raspberries and blackberries to snack (throughout day)
  • i'm slow cooking lamb meatballs in a rich tomato sauce (with carrots and celery etc) for tea tonight, and will serve with brown spaghetti - i'm very excited!! Grin
fallingup · 24/08/2021 18:18

@Juno231 10k by lunch!! How! 🤣 I'm only on 4K steps right now, office jobs suck 🙃 I lovvveee what you just said about Christmas! I'm aiming for 20lbs loss and that's 19.8!! Amazing 🥲

I've had peanut butter & toast, soup and.... my hubby brought home a chippy 🙃 I didn't eat much of it, so cross 🤣🤣

@thislittlebird hope you're feeling better!!

@Kay00 where do you get your low sugar muesli? I can never find a nice one 👀

Juno231 · 24/08/2021 19:35

@thislittlebird ooh def worth mentioning the migraines at the acupuncture too

@Kay00 that's such a good day of food! Look out for wholegrain basmati as well if you haven't had it before - I only know it exists because of my pcos friend 😅

@fallingup ha I'm an office worker too. My gym sesh included a run and on days where I don't wfh I get more steps in just walking to/from the station. Saying that I got 18k yday whilst wfh!

Went for a little walk after work in the sunshine and am on 17.5k so will be beating ydays steps before I'm done for the day I reckon :)

fallingup · 24/08/2021 19:40

@Juno231 Waow that's impressive! How do you do it? I only get 30mins for lunch 🥲 and my gym is 15 mins away 🤣 that's amazing!! I am back in the office from Thursday and should be able to get walks done at lunch, I work in a hospital with lovely grounds!

thislittlebird · 24/08/2021 19:48

I can do it when I’m at work, because it’s a big site with that lots of walking. I will be going in for a few days next week for the first time in ages with my dodgy foot, I don’t know how much walking that will involve. To the bus stop and back, probably.

Nit sure whether to join the work gym again. It’s cheap, but ankle. I’m very unlikely to venture into the weights area of this tiny gym, I’m usually only a treadmill or cross trainer gal. Oh yeah, just remembered they have rowing machines too. Huh, maybe I will.

professionalcockney · 24/08/2021 22:34

Great days everyone 👏

I had a party today - social events really throw diets out of the window! I wish I'd done this during lockdown 😩

Juno231 · 24/08/2021 23:10

@thislittlebird ouch I imagine the rowing machine will still hurt your ankle? If it won't then sounds like the stationary bike could also be an option? Is it feeling any better atm?

@fallingup ah I am lucky! I get an hour and the gym is in the building 😬

@professionalcockney don't be silly - one day won't throw you off, just get back on it tomorrow and think damage limitation. You can do this 💪

thislittlebird · 24/08/2021 23:28

@Juno231 good point re the rowing pressure. Cycling is a good shout, I never do that because I’m bad at it 😭

It is feeling better each day, I think it’s healing well. I need to do some stuff that won’t aggravate it first of all.

Juno231 · 25/08/2021 07:01

@thislittlebird haha I never do it either and I've always avoided spin classes as I'm convinced I'd just vom from the effort 😅

Juno231 · 25/08/2021 07:32

All this water is paying off - I'm 1.1kg down from Monday. 74.7 to 73.6... I'm hoping it means I could still hit 73kg by Monday!

fallingup · 25/08/2021 10:59

@Juno231 woohoo amazing! I'm measuring in lbs now, I find kg confusing sometimes 🤣 so I'm down 1.8lbs so far and hoping for a 2lb loss per week (1kb at least!!) how are you getting on today?

@professionalcockney we're all allowed treat days 🤫😍

IsabelHerna · 25/08/2021 14:15

Hi lovelies I just found this thread and I love it!

I would like to join in, please! I have PCOS, so weight loss is both important and difficult at the same time. I am starting IVF soon, so if I lose a few kg is only going to help the process!

So, Day 1 today, I had Yogurt and berries for breakfast and an omelet for lunch. I promise I will go for a walk later today! I will try 5km like you girls.

Good luck to everyone!

Really exited for this thread!

IsabelHerna · 25/08/2021 14:33

Hi lovelies! I am so excited to have found this thread!

I have PCOS and I will be starting IVF soon, Is it okay if I join in?

So, I will count my 1st day today, I had a yogurt and berries for breakfast and an omelet for lunch.

I will go for a walk later, 5km like you girls!

I am so happy, good luck to everyone! I will check in tomorrow!

Do you think I should set up a specific goal or should I just try?

IsabelHerna · 25/08/2021 14:34

sorry for posting it two times, the 1st one didn't show up that's why... Sorry Blush

fallingup · 25/08/2021 15:06

@IsabelHerna hey hey! Welcome 🥰 I've found this thread so good and we've only been here a few days! I set myself a goal of 1lb AT LEAST a week 😜

Juno231 · 25/08/2021 15:12

@IsabelHerna Welcome! Lovely to have you here :) Goals are good but perhaps ones without a timeline attached if you have a tendency to feel like giving up as soon as you think you might not hit that imaginary target? Also depends on how big a lifestyle shift it is for you? Eg might be easier to focus on just cutting out a specific thing or adding X amount of steps or drinking a certain amount of water instead of going cold turkey on everything at once and expecting to exercise 5 times a week Grin

For reference my current dream goal is to lose 1lb a week but in reality I know it might not always happen, so I'm focusing a lot on upping my water, my activity levels and try to make healthy food choices as much as I can. I can't be bothered to bend over backwards to always hit a 1200 cal/day limit like I used to be able to diet 10 years ago lol - I know I'd fall off the wagon then!

fallingup · 25/08/2021 18:35

Just had my dinner and I've only consumed 1034 cals today! Any ideas what I should snack on this evening? 🥰

Also, does anyone do hello fresh??
