Hello all and thank you @GetTheStartyParted.

SW 12s 6
CW 11st 11
GW 9st

I gained in April but did do a lot of exercise. Now the gym is back open I'm doing 1-2 Pilates classes a week and swimming a couple of times a week too. Really hoping to get closer to the 10s in May. I donated all my bigger summer clothes so bloody need to lose some weight this month so my size 12s will fit.

I have done a Pilates class this morning and taking the children swimming later. Might do a class or a swim tomorrow with it being a bank holiday.

PurpleBettina · 02/05/2021 13:37

Hi! Can I join you this month? My baby is 5 months old next week, I've been slowly loosing the baby weight, but can't do too much while still breastfeeding.

I'm trying to get into better habits with exercise and eating healthier since I can't really restrict calories, but finding it hard to do exercise other than walking with my velcro baby.

SW: 12 St 4 lbs
CW: 11 St 7 lbs
GW: 9 St 11 lbs

Going to limit drinks to 1 glass of wine a week, maybe cut out the weekly takeaway this month Sad. It'll hopefully be worth it to fit back into my pre-pregnancy clothes soon!

GetTheStartyParted · 02/05/2021 14:48

Hi @NerrSnerr I'm sure you will get in your 12s soon. I think exercise is the reason I only lost 2lb in April too. That was only the last week. I am so hungry after running, but have been trying to eat a banana straight after and then stay in track. If I don't have a post run snack then I'm ravenous for the day. I've just been swimming with my DH and DS's. Have fun.

@PurpleBettina welcome! It looks like you have been making good progress. I have had to cut out my weekly takeaway, I just wasn't losing anything. I gave it a miss this week and lost 2lb Blush I guess it makes a big difference to me. Perhaps you could try once a fortnight or monthly? Having a night off cooking is invaluable when you have little ones.

Hello...can I please join? I’ve found that daily weighing has helped me focus and lost nearly 3kg in the last month (plus cutting out white bread and limiting wine to 1 night a week!). I suspect month 2 will be harder but I’m feeling a bit more motivated at the moment...I think the sunshine is helping!

SW 83kg
CW 76.35kg
GW 70kg

GetTheStartyParted · 03/05/2021 08:16

@GrandPrismatic of course, welcome Smile

Well done so far, glad you're feeling motivated. Good luck.

I think this weekend counts as a success for me. I've made it through without caving and ordering a takeaway! I did have a cider and some sweets but stuck within my calorie limit. Really hoping to see a bit more progress in May.

Can I join too?

SW: 75kg
TW: 60kg

I’ve been up and down with my weight since having my second (now 2 years old!). Name a diet and I’ve probably tried it, always the same story, works for a bit then I can’t sustain it and the weight goes back on.

Back to basics this time, calorie counting using MFP. My meals are generally pretty healthy, snacking (especially when stressed) is my problem.

I’m already reasonably active and run 20ish miles a week but I’m going to try to squeeze in a little more exercise on my non-running days.

GetTheStartyParted · 03/05/2021 08:42

Morning @Spekoppar 2 years is nothing, my youngest is 12 Blush

I followed a keto diet for most of last year, which helped me to lose over 4st but I need something longterm so have started calorie counting. Any hints and tips welcomed, especially for healthy meals.

I’m in and I’m serious this time, this is the heaviest I have been and have no clothes

CW 10st 7
GW 9st

Stop snacking and up my protein intake. I have become a carb monster this year and never feel full so crisps are out and bread as a once a week treat. I do love veg so looking at recipes to load up veg intake. I’m hoping for 10lb loss for end of June

NerrSnerr · 03/05/2021 08:55

Welcome @Harrykanesrightsock and @Spekoppar.

I'm just deciding what exercise to do today. I could do an outdoor yoga class but it might be a bit chilly. Might go for an evening swim instead.

twobambinos · 03/05/2021 09:18

Can I join please.
I'm serious this time. Have a beautiful wardrobe full of clothes and nothing fits.
10st 12 today
Gw 8st 12.
Hope to be alot closer to 10st by the end of may. I am good with exercise although could always be better I suppose. It's the junk food that gets me every time. Cutting right back.

Goodluck everyone.

GetTheStartyParted · 03/05/2021 12:32

Hi and welcome @twobambinos

We are the same weight Grin I've lost a lot to get here though so need to buy more clothes. Getting into yours is a great incentive. It's always the junk food isn't it!

DS had requested KFC for lunch and as I left my study, I was thinking I might join him Blush thankfully when I got downstairs he had already got himself lunch so no trip to KFC. I had egg on toast instead, and an apple.

GetTheStartyParted · 03/05/2021 15:20

Sorry I missed you @Harrykanesrightsock - crisps are my major downfall Hmm

@mybonnieliesovertheocean2 you have 1 stone to go until you reach target, how exciting! Are you staying on keto until target and then switching over or transitioning before target?

@bonfireheart just over a stone for you - good luck. What's your plan?

I hope you're all enjoying the Bank Holiday. It hasn't stopped raining all day here but I've submitted my assignment and now I'm watching the snooker with DH and drinking cups of tea, nice and cosy.

OP posts:
bonfireheart · 03/05/2021 15:26

@GetTheStartyParted Slow and steady wins the race :) so am not doing anything too drastic. I'm using MFP to log calories. Doing fast800, so 800 calories twice a week whilst ensuring I am low cal low carbon the other five days. Also doing intermittent fasting- usually 14:10 sometimes 15:9. I tried 16:8 and it was too hard. My downfall is always other people - family dropping off food usually haha. At home it's just me and DD12 and she can cook for herself so I make my own meals, the fast800 is mainly meditteranean food which I love anyway so suits me fine.

Today was supposed to be skateboarding in the park but horrible weather means I am tidying up, doing laundry and generally pottering about!

GetTheStartyParted · 03/05/2021 15:32

I've looked at fast 800 but I'm not sure I could cope. Fasting was fine whilst keto, I often did 18:6 and once fasted for 21 hours without meaning to, but I cannot do it when I'm eating carbs Grin It sounds like it works well for you.

Shame its a washout but I do like a good potter about too, nice to have time to do things isn't it.

NerrSnerr · 03/05/2021 16:23

It has been raining all day here too. We managed a quick trip out to the park but the 4 year old has been a bit of a grump today so we weren't out for too long. I'm now in the gymnastics waiting area for my daughter.

I haven't managed any exercise yet today. I think I'll do a HIIT video when I get back. I have done well with calories the last few days, really tried to up my protein intake which has helped.

bonfireheart · 03/05/2021 16:57

I admire anyone who can do HIIT :) I've paused my gym membership cos it was so hard to find the time. Instead I try to get to school 40 mins before pick up time and wall, aim for 10k steps but usually it's 7k. I think it's making more of a difference than the gym anyway cos all I did there was the treadmill. Put my headphones and listen to podcasts and the time flies.

GrandPrismatic · 03/05/2021 18:12

Urgh the RAIN! It’s ruining all my good plans! I’m at 7k steps and was planning to get out for a quick walk after work to get my 10k steps and instead I’ve just scoffed a fish finger wrap and a big mug of sugary tea Blush . Honestly the weather REALLY impacts my ability to stay on track. If I’m outside I’m not eating!

NerrSnerr · 03/05/2021 18:55

I have done my HIIT, it's a bit disconcerting when you're struggling to do press ups and planks when your 6 year old can do it perfectly without breaking a sweat- just after doing one hour of gymnastics!

Feel glad that I'm done though- I'll be under my calories again today so hopefully I'm starting the month off well.

ImFree2doasiwant · 03/05/2021 22:25

Id like to join in too please! Had already decided to aim for 7lbs in May so this is ideal! I lost 10lbs in April but that was my first month.

SW 14st 6
Cw 13st 10
Gw 11st 3

NerrSnerr · 04/05/2021 07:45

Welcome @ImFree2doasiwant I always find 7lb is a good number to aim for and I try (and often fail at the moment!)

I weighed this morning and am 2lbs down this month. We're all back to school/ nursery/ work today so need to make sure I make enough time to get something healthy for lunch. My daughter has sports class later and I'll go for a swim while she's doing that so will get some exercise in.

Howmanysleepsnow · 04/05/2021 08:02

I’ve lost my first 1lb of the month despite eating over my calorie allowance by 400 a day the last 2 days. I’ve been doing weight training with DH for 1.5 hours a day since Sunday and upped my steps to 15000. Ive been ravenous hence the increase in calories but it seems to have helped. I’m now 9st 12lb.
Night shift tonight so between work and dogwalks I should easily hit 20,000 steps but no time to do weights. On the plus side other than sorting the dogs I’ll be asleep once the dc are in school so no food until around 11pm.
