Hi all. I haven't been eating brilliantly the last few days but haven't gained so I'm happy. I'm back on it today. Just did a spinning class and thought I was going to die but so happy I have done it.

GetTheStartyParted · 19/05/2021 15:05

@NerrSnerr I always feel like that after exercise Grin Hope you're not aching too much!

I'm out for dinner tonight, DS has requested Nandos, and then we are going to the cinema. Watching Godzilla vs Kong. Neither the film or restaurant would be my choice but I cannot wait Smile it's been so long.

Thank you @GetTheStartyParted- have a great night tonight. It's so nice to be getting back to normal.

I'm back to the gym tonight, I'm hoping for a spot on another spinning class tonight but if not I'll go on the treadmill.

plixy · 19/05/2021 16:43

Hi, bit late in the month but hoping I can join?
I previously lost 2 1/2 stone to get to my goal weight, and then 6 months later fell pregnant. I had nausea for the entire 9 months and ate constantly to combat the feeling. I ended up putting back on all the weight I had lost, and more.
Well my daughter is 2 tomorrow and I only really started to do something about the weight gain a couple of weeks ago :( I've got off to a good start but it's a challenge!

Sw 12st 10lb
Cw 12st 5lb
Gw 10st

Had a really hard week with work and school struggles the dds are having Sad

So I’m afraid I haven’t been doing so well on either food or exercise.

But I have still been losing since I started the month on 76 kg - now at 75.5 so I’m pleased with that mini loss.

GrandPrismatic · 20/05/2021 05:38

Hi @plixy! You are doing well with a 2 year old...mine was 4 before I managed to get a grip and start trying to lose weight properly. 5lbs in a couple of weeks is brilliant.

Howmanysleepsnow · 20/05/2021 07:38

Checking in. I’ve been battling the same 2lb all month, going down 2 then back up. I really need to get back on track so I’m here for accountability.
Start weight for May 9st13lb ( been back up to 10st repeatedly)
Current weight 9st11.5
Goal for May was 9st 6lb, revised to 9st 8lb

ImFree2doasiwant · 20/05/2021 10:01

Hope you had a good night @GetTheStartyParted, at least in Nandos its pretty easy to make a good food choice!

Hi @plixy I've found this so much harder since having children. Less (no!) time for myself mine are 4 and 5 now, so really can't use them as an excuse anymore.

So.....20th May abd I've done it! Really pleased.

Sw - 14st 6

7lbs off. 11 days left, would love to get another 3 off to take me to 13st.

cricketmum84 · 20/05/2021 10:06

Another 2lbs off so 8lbs this month! I've definitely been doing better with food after feeling a bit meh about it all at the start of the months. I just wish the weather would warm up so I can enjoy my salads more!

Hope you enjoyed your Nando's @GetTheStartyParted! Not jealous at all... honest 😂

GetTheStartyParted · 20/05/2021 10:18

Morning all. Loads of good losses, well done.

I thoroughly enjoyed my nandos Grin and @ImFree2doasiwant you're right, it is easy to make good choices but last night I didn't! I had the sunset burger with peri-salted fries, it was delicious. The cinema saved me from myself though, Baskin Robbins was closed.

It's day 46 of my period today and the last 2 days have been bad and I'm feeling hormonal and hungry. I missed my run yesterday as I wasn't well enough but I did over 10k steps still.

I'm off work for a week now, looking forward to catching up with some sleep and having time for uni work.

I agree that it's harder once you have children. I've been up and down since having my first DS, almost 19 years ago. Meal times become something you have to think about so much more too.

ImFree2doasiwant · 20/05/2021 10:36

@GetTheStartyParted oh that sounds amazing. Food envy. I'm going to plan a meal out once iver got to 12st 6 I think. That'll be 2 st off and il feel happy to have a day off the diet, without worrying about it spiralling

I'm single and have been since my youngest was a baby. I really struggled with the lack of time for myself, to do the things I loved *mostly exercise related if I'm honest!) and filled it with food . I finally feel at a stage where I can take a bit of control back.

ImFree2doasiwant · 20/05/2021 10:37

P.s. day 46. I really feel for you. Have you tried tranexamic acid? I suffered for 3 years before the gp suggested it she sayd she didn't think it would help. It was like a miracle!

GetTheStartyParted · 20/05/2021 10:57

It was so good.

Yes, definitely plan a meal to celebrate a 2st loss. Life is for living.

It is so hard to find time for yourself but worth it. I spend much more time doing things for me now, running, swimming, nights out with DH (when we could), even food planning and prep. I wouldn't have spent time making myself proper food at lunch time when the children were young, but now if I want to then I do. I know I need to build these good habits into routine so I don't go back to being obese.

Thank you, I have tranexamic acid for the bad days. I have just been put on a new pill, so I'm praying it stops soon. It's really not helping my diet as I'm bloated, etc, and not losing weight when I am eating well apart from my nandos

OP posts:
ImFree2doasiwant · 20/05/2021 11:12

I'm definitely seeing this "diet" as doing something for myself. I used to do loads if exercise classes, running, cycle to work (20 mile round trip) riding my horse. I just dont get the (child free) time now, being single.

Foxhasbigsocks · 20/05/2021 15:53

Well done everyone for losses! Hope you feel a bit better soon @GetTheStartyParted

HolaVida · 20/05/2021 16:05

Wow, some great losses on here!!

After a food-heavy weekend, I actually found it easier than I thought to be restrained during the week. But have been feeling under the weather and haven't been exercising as much (the last two days haven't even done 10K steps which normally isn't an issue), so not expecting anything dramatic tomorrow when I weigh-in.

Honestly, this grey weather DOES NOT HELP! I just want to disappear under the duvet and wait for the sun to come out

GrandPrismatic · 21/05/2021 07:04

@GetTheStartyParted oooft that sounds hard going..hope your new pills work. @cricketmum84 8lbs! That’s brilliant!

I’m down 1kg this week which is a good result considering I’ve been laid low with the cold, eating poorly and doing no exercise! Just under 3kg for the month to date...I’m hoping to top 3kg by 31st!

Howmanysleepsnow · 21/05/2021 08:12

I don’t understand this at all. 1,125 calories in yesterday (admittedly they consisted entirely of sandwiches and cake!), 457 active calories out, gained 1.5lb so I’m back at my starting point for the month. Short of starving myself I have no idea how to lose weight! (And obviously that’s not an option...)

mynameisbrian · 21/05/2021 10:10

2lbs off this week. Have been doing 2 45 minute work outs a day, keeing to 1200 calories and focussed on increasing my protein intake.

Total lost for May so far: 4lbs

Really chuffed with 4lb off so far in May. I'd love love love it to get under 12st by the end of the month. Today is Friday, this is when I usually get sick of eating well, drink some wine and reach for the crisps.....realllllllly hopeful that this weekend I don't do that. Planning to build in some treats, but keep it moderate eg a small bowl of crisps rather than the whole giant packet

plixy · 22/05/2021 06:56

Well after a week with take away and party food I've somehow managed to lose another 1 lb this week. Think that shows just how much I was eating before!
Puts me on 6lb loss for the month.
I was really hoping to lose 1st before my holiday, so I have 5 weeks to lose another 8lb.

HolaVida · 22/05/2021 10:34

Oh well done @plixy!

I ate crisps and drank wine last night but have come on here this morning as a reminder that I don't have to do that for the entire weekend!!! arrgggh, I find moderation at weekends so difficult - any tips gratefully received!!

Howmanysleepsnow · 22/05/2021 12:17

So I’m 2lb up from yesterday. Had a restaurant meal last night, but if 1lb = 3500 excess calories I must’ve had a 12,250 excess in the last 2 days to gain 3.5lb, but I’ve ‘only’ (!) eaten 4625 total. Even if my bmr were 512 and I’d done no active calories (I used 1,100) I should have only gained 1lb.
Any idea how to stop gaining? I’m full of cold/ chest infection so not hugely motivated right now, but I can’t throw away my hard work gaining at this rate! Help!

plixy · 22/05/2021 13:11

@HolaVida weekends are the hardest as my husband is snacking all day! He's on his feet 9 hours a day mon- fri so can afford to eat what he wants. So annoying!
At least when he's at work I can try and forget the food in the kitchen!

cannotfindanickname · 22/05/2021 23:25

@GetTheStartyParted Sorry I didn't come back here until now. My dance is salsa. I was very overweight for a few years up until 2 years ago because i was unknowingly suffering from hypothyroidism - huge weight gain and no energy to exercise. I think about 15 st at my heaviest. Once diagnosed and medication kicked in i joined the gym went 5 times a week, went back to salsa class that i used to do years before as well and lost 3 st. Then lockdown happened and I have put 1 stone back on. I am hoping now that i am exercising i will finally reach my target weight.
CW - 13 st 3 ish but i am hoping salsa will shift some lbs and don't want to weigh myself for a few weeks.
TW - 11st (but not this month). This month I would be happy just to drop below 13 st.
