Good luck everyone. I'm feeling positive about May.

Thank you @GetTheStartyParted. I have felt a bit better this afternoon and I'm hoping for a good sleep tonight. I have about 2 stone until I'm a healthy weight again, and I think it's about half a stone until I'm 'overweight' again so hopefully can do that soon.

We get to book exercise classes 10 days in advance at the gym so I have an indoor spinning class for the 18th which is exciting! I was hoping for it to be yoga or Pilates but it needs to fit in with the children's classes on a weekday.

Foxhasbigsocks · 09/05/2021 23:48

@NerrSnerr wow actually inside - exciting

Foxhasbigsocks · 09/05/2021 23:50

Have just had a stressful evening - various stuff at home and have fallen off the wagon on to a packet of crisps and two mini chocolate cakes. It’s so tempting to eat some of the kids Easter chocolate on top of that but just about stopping myself Confused

GrandPrismatic · 10/05/2021 05:40

Oh @Foxhasbigsocks...well done for stopping before the Easter chocolate...I find stress has such a big influence over my eating. Fingers crossed you have a less stressful time of it today.

Can I join too please?

@GrandPrismatic thank you! I feel a bit better this morning - good night of sleep and a bit of perspective.

Welcome to those who are new - great to have you on board!

AirEngland · 10/05/2021 08:01

Well done for staying off the chocolate.
I was given a box of 40 posh Belgium chocolates for my birthday. My first thought was to take the whole box to work to get rid of them, but then the dog shredded the box and ate a few (he’s fine) and I’m not sure what to do now.
I was thinking about overestimating the cal content (I think they’re roughly 90cals each but I’ve saved them on nutracheck as 150 each) and having 1 every couple of nights. The more I think about the more guilty I’d feel for giving them away. And they are yum! I had one yesterday and was still in my calorie allowance. I think by going with the highest possible calorie content it will reduce the chance of over eating? Or is that all just eating for the sake of eating?

I weighed myself this morning and I’m a few lbs heavier than I was on Friday but I’m not too bothered as some of that will be water weight. Hoping to lose it again over the week.

GetTheStartyParted · 10/05/2021 08:18

Morning all, I'm glad that the Sunday blues seem to have gone. Hope you're all OK today Flowers

I've lost the other half pound so I'm now 1lb down for May. About to go for my run. On the treadmill today because its threatening to rain.

@AirEngland it doesn't sounds like you would be eating for the sake of it. You're accounting for them and enjoying them, not mindlessly shovelling them in. We are allowed to enjoy our food, I think it helps to stick to it long term.

@AirEngland dp is also losing and he got a big box recently too. He decided to have two days where he would have them and have a few each of those two days and then bin the rest in the end.

Delighted to have lost 2lb since last weigh-in! This is the first time I've ever lost over the weekend :)

Well done to the rest of you for persevering during birthday celebrations etc - this thread is really helping me stay focussed, thank you - there's something about writing out the SW/TW etc that is actually quite encouraging - I've actually done brilliantly to get this far, even if there's still the same amount to go...

GetTheStartyParted · 10/05/2021 17:52

Well done @HolaVida that's great. Seeing your progress written down certainly helps. I like to take photos too, so I can see the difference. I have hardly any from when I was at my biggest though.

I went to my Dad's for a cuppa today and Grandma had sent some of her rock cakes. I couldn't resist having one. No ideas of calories so I don't think it counts Wink

Ran 5k on the treadmill today. Knocked a little more time off. Since the first 5k I managed on the 16th April, I've managed to cut the time by three and a half minutes.

AirEngland · 10/05/2021 21:17

Well done HolaVida!

Well I had another of my chocolates after dinner. I ate it slowly and managed to stop after one so so far so good. I think I’ll take a leaf of of your DHs book @Foxhasbigsocks and keep them till next week and then maybe dispose of them then. Best of both worlds!

I haven’t had a rock cake in years! My Nan used to make them too. Feeling nostalgic now! Well done on your 5k.

WhatTheySaid · 11/05/2021 13:26

I weighed in this morning and I'm 2kg down 🎉 I know it's mostly water weight but it's always motivating to have a good loss on the first week. 8kg more to go!

HolaVida · 11/05/2021 16:49

Brilliant @WhatTheySaid Star !
So impressed with your moderation with the choccies @AirEngland....!

I've come on this afternoon because I reaaaaaally feel like nibbling something, and I just want to make it through the next hour until dinner without snacking!

MrsPatchIt · 11/05/2021 18:33

@HolaVida did you manage it?!

MrsPatchIt · 11/05/2021 19:32

After hundreds of false starts and cutting right down the first day only to binge the second day I've finally managed day 2 and still feeling strong and motivated!

I'm following slimming world again- well the bits that I can remember from when I did it 8ish years ago! I repeated what I read here about just accepting I can't eat the same as dh and it made such a difference so thank you Thanks

GetTheStartyParted · 11/05/2021 20:22

@HolaVida hope you managed it.

@MrsPatchIt you can do this.

I'm hungry today too. Must be something in the air. I've had an extra clementine and apple.

Finally had some news about my never ending period. Sorry if it's TMI Blush On top of my endometriosis, I have a fibroid. New pill and referral to gynae. Hoping it helps as I'm currently on day 37!

OP posts:
HolaVida · 11/05/2021 20:56

Urghhh, that's miserable @GetTheStartyParted :(

Yes! I managed it. Ate a decent dinner and nothing since. It's strange how strong and powerful I feel. Makes you realise that all these months of just mindlessly eating actually are quite disempowering.

GrandPrismatic · 12/05/2021 05:25

@HolaVida well done! That’s a brilliant start! And @MrsPatchIt I totally know what you mean about feeling empowered. Something just clicked with me this time around and I’m determined to do it. I had loads of false starts over the years too but I’m feeling different (good) about it this time and it seems to be working. You’ve got this!

@GetTheStartyParted that sound tough going. Hope the treatment makes a difference Flowers

I’ve woken up with a horrid cold this morning...my first in year (maybe one unintended positive impact of lockdown?!) and I’m quite grumpy with it. Not sure how it will impact my appetite...I’ll report back whether it makes me want to devour the fridge contents or lose my appetite completely Blush but I am not going for run this morning as I have zero energy and don’t want it turning into a chest infection.

Foxhasbigsocks · 12/05/2021 06:42

Morning all!

I’ve stayed with the low calorie approach and I’m seeing a slow loss - down to 75.5 yesterday and hoping to keep going

Plan for today is soup for lunch and aiming for 10,000 steps!

NerrSnerr · 12/05/2021 07:39

Morning all. I'm doing well this month and down to 11s7- still not lost all the weight I gained in April but almost there! I really need to keep plugging away as I am utterly fed up of my size 14 jeans now and want to send them off to the charity shop!

Hope you get sorted soon @GetTheStartyParted and you're getting in lots of iron!

MrsPatchIt · 12/05/2021 10:51

Anyone else eat their emotions? I'm so angry with dh I just want to faceplant a cheesecake..

Sorry to hear that @GetTheStartyParted I hope it's not causing too many issues for you.

GetTheStartyParted · 12/05/2021 11:18

Thanks everyone. It's very tiring. Clinging to the hope that DH is right - that when my hormones are sorted, the weight will drop off Grin

Already done my 10,000 steps this morning at work. Then I was 2k into my run when someone knocked on the front door. Couldn't get back into it so that's that.

Great @HolaVida It feels good when you overcome the feeling of needing something, doesn't it.

Well done @NerrSnerr and @Foxhasbigsocks

Get well soon @GrandPrismatic A colleague was saying today that she hasn't had a cold or similar since we started wearing face masks.

@MrsPatchIt hope you are ok Flowers

Well another day of feeling really hungry

Today I went about 100 calories over, so finishing at about 1500. Shouldn't gain from that but won't help me to lose Blush

After my run was cut short I did a Les Mills hybrid workout. It was good but tough. I think I'll ache tomorrow!

How are you all doing today?
