Standing in for @cricketmum84 and taking over hosting from @NerrSnerr for this month.

Good luck everyone. I'm feeling positive about May.

April's loss was a measly 2lb Grin

Ahh, that's annoying @MrsPatchit but better than wearing it and not doing anything like I have today

@HolaVida It sounds like you have been doing well under tricky circumstances. Glad your daughter is doing well. Good luck!

Can I ask, how supportive is all of your partners? Dh just came down saying he's ordered pizza hut Angry

GetTheStartyParted · 07/05/2021 19:15

DH is great most of the time. He diets with me when he has a little to lose and doesn't when he's lost enough.

Only time he isn't overly supportive is when I want a takeaway or some chocolate or something. He's always far too ready to join me rather than help me Grin

I know it seems tough when you want support (especially in the early days) but I think it's important to learn to stick to what you should have despite what others are eating. I found that saying no when my mum was buying cakes or to a meal out with sis and having to avoid the chips was the strength I'd been lacking for the last decade. I still say yes sometimes but make better choices most of the time.

I hope you're not too annoyed Flowers

MrsPatchIt · 07/05/2021 20:24

I'm too stuffed to be annoyed! BlushGrin

Will have to go on the exercise bike in the morning now.

I agree with you and next time I will decline.. wasn't quite strong enough this time

Men have it so easy though don't they, dh just has to say "diet" and he's lost a lb.

ImFree2doasiwant · 07/05/2021 21:13

I think I'm going to weigh in on Fridays, as I dud this morning 2lbs down.
Sw 14st 6
CW 13st 8
TW 11st 6

May target 13st 3

GetTheStartyParted · 08/05/2021 08:03

@MrsPatchIt Hope it was nice Grin I've had to accept that I just can't eat the same as others do. I have to say no sometimes. And you're right, DH definitely has it easy, I always joke that mine only has to stop having seconds and the weight disappears!

@ImFree2doasiwant I weigh on Mondays and Fridays, I'm most likely to slip up at weekends and it means I can keep an eye on it. Well done for losing 2lb.

What's everyone up to today? It's pouring down here and DH is feeling the effects of his covid jab so today may be a day of nothing - films and football.

I have always said that I wanted to be able to fit back into my wedding dress and yesterday was the first time I've tried. I couldn't zip it up to the top but I'm not far off.

10 weeks until my 14th Wedding anniversary so I'm challenging myself to get into it by then Grin not sure why, its not like I'm going to wear it. I think it just represents the last time I was slim and didn't worry about my weight.

I had my second DS a year later and never got back to that size.

Does anyone else have a random goal alongside their target weight?

@GetTheStartyParted that’s a nice dress and a good goal. My wedding dress is a massive meringue, I tried mine on for my 20th anniversary a few years back.
I did my long run this morning after a dog walk, and have lost 3lbs since Wednesday. I always weigh myself after a run, so it’s all comparable. Really pleased as I struggle to lose weight and do loads of exercise whatever weight I am.
I am using the MyFitnessPal app and that is helping me realise what I eat. Hoping I see the 10st something next week.

HolaVida · 08/05/2021 16:36

@GetTheStartyParted, thanks for the welcome ☺️
Gorgeous dress- look at that lovely waist!!

I weigh on Fridays and Mondays too- and I’ve noticed a real pattern of losing Mon-Fri and then sabotaging myself at weekend. I’m obviously trying to actively lose at the moment so am being more strict, but I do think longer term I need to have a new approach to weekends!!

MrsPatchIt · 08/05/2021 18:42

Ahh that's lovely! I have a similar goal except mine is to get into the dream dress I never got to wear on my wedding day! I had to buy another a few days before as it turns out I stress eat and could do it up but not breatheBlush it's been 5 years and now I doubt it would even go over my hips!

GetTheStartyParted · 08/05/2021 19:13

Thank you Smile

@sazzy5 3lbs is amazing, what a great start to the month.

@HolaVida weekends are so difficult. We always planned one takeaway, but there was inevitably leftovers, plus it made us want some chocolate or a drink or two. Therefore one takeaway led to several bad choices. I'm 2 weeks into my month of no takeaways and it's hard to resist! If you find the answer to surviving weekends please let me know.

@MrsPatchIt my mum had to squeeze me in to this dress on my wedding day as I had gained weight Blush I'm 3 dress sizes down from my biggest but hoping to lose one more (and fasten the zip on the dress!) Good luck getting into your dream dress.

Ladies can I check back in! I’m a long term poster but have Nc. I got down to 73 kg (from about 80kg) but the weight has crept back up and I’m now at 76. I really want to drop back to 73.

I’ve forgotten how I did it but definitely need to reduce snacks, up exercise and eat smaller potions. Going to read back into the thread and then post tomorrow about food plans

Foxhasbigsocks · 08/05/2021 21:04

Right caught up a bit now - so far I’m copying no takeaways and also thinking of calorie counting

@GetTheStartyParted can I ask what MFP is?

GetTheStartyParted · 08/05/2021 21:45

Hi @Foxhasbigsocks

It's just My Fitness Pal. I log everything on there. Meals, snacks, weight etc. It keeps me on track most of the time.

Foxhasbigsocks · 08/05/2021 21:56

Thank you @GetTheStartyParted sounds really good! I will check that out now!

I’m feeling a bit grumpy that I worked so hard and now seem to have gone backwards a bit. But I’m trying hard to be positive Ian’s work for a good loss this month.

One thing I’m going to go back to is veg soup for lunch as that seemed to really help

TheStirrer · 09/05/2021 09:12

Morning everyone! Hooray no rain so I can go out for a long walk today. 😁

@GetTheStartyParted - you look amazing and can’t have much more to go to get completely back into your wedding dress

@cricketmum84 - nice to see you again and well done on the laps - hope you are feeling a lot better

And hello to all the new joiners👋

Well I have had a good week in more ways than one....
I turned 50 on Tuesday and had a lovely day including blow out meal and I have managed to lose 5 lbs this week .... not sure how. Think it is probably because I am back low carbing after having fallen of the wagon last month. (Or my scales are wrong!)
I also discovered the benefits of moving up an age bracket - my Fitbit heart health says I am now excellent rather than being at the top of good! 🤣

Foxhasbigsocks · 09/05/2021 09:18

@TheStirrer ooh impressive that you’ve gone excellent and well done on the loss!

Foxhasbigsocks · 09/05/2021 09:20

I weighed in again this morning and am down to 75.6 - am going to keep trying really hard as I need to fit back into my work clothes for my new job in July!

I used to do a lot of kiddie dance with the dds at home - not really feeling it at the moment but going to try hard to actually do at least one dance session this week. I am rubbish so good job no one can see me Grin

AirEngland · 09/05/2021 10:44

Can I join too?
SW 14.9
CW 13.2
TW 11.5 (for now)

I weigh myself most days and I was 13.4 on May. I’ve had a big birthday this week and had a few days off diet (I didn’t eat too badly but I drank way too much) but am back on the diet today so hopefully I won’t have caused too much damage.

I’m calorie counting and sort of doing 16:8. I go swimming 3-4 times a week but I need to start using the gym too.

WhatTheySaid · 09/05/2021 10:48

Hi everyone, just checking in, congratulations to everyone on their losses!
I'm going to weigh tuesday morning and I'm hoping for a loss, managed to stay under my cals on MFP everyday this week and feel so much less bloated.
Also passed my driving theory test yesterday so a pound or two loss would top my week off nicely Grin

GrandPrismatic · 09/05/2021 11:00

@GetTheStartyParted brilliant! You look great! I deffo couldn’t fit into my wedding dress...even my current target weight is above what it was when I got married...maybe I should make that my next target!
Daily weighins for the week here...I’ve managed to keep below the magic 25 bmi for the week which is surprising given the wine consumed on Thursday night Smile
I’m wondering is 74kg might be a good goal for this week.

NerrSnerr · 09/05/2021 16:00

Hi all. I have had a couple of days where I haven't been properly tracking calories but I haven't done too bad. Back on track today and did a lovely Pilates class. We've had a busy weekend and I'm exhausted so I'm hoping the children get an early night.

I have been feeling a bit low this last week so really need to work hard on eating the right things and getting enough sleep to try and sort that out.

GetTheStartyParted · 09/05/2021 18:08

Thanks Smile I still have 16lbs to lose to be in the 'healthy weight' category. Getting there slowly.

@TheStirrer Happy 50th Birthday Cake Glad you enjoyed your celebrations. Well done for losing too, that's impressive.

@AirEngland hello, hope you enjoyed your birthday too. We have to factor these things in don't we, not deprive ourselves.

@WhatTheySaid Star well done! Fingers crossed you get a loss, you deserve to.

@GrandPrismatic brilliant, I can't wait to get under 25!l, I'm down to 27.9 so hopefully not too long.

@NerrSnerr sleep definitely affects everything. A good catch up sleep sounds in order Smile

I have a month to write my end of year assignments so it's going to be hectic but I'm trying to be organised. I write a meal plan for dinner every Sunday, for the week. Saves me using brain power each day, I just look at the board. I also write how many calories are in the dish so DH and I can plan our other meals accordingly. I have also carved out time for working out and told my manager that I won't be doing any extra shifts.

Sorry for the essay Grin I hope you've all had a lovely weekend.
