A stone or less to lose

Anyone looking for the magic stone more or less? I’m furious with myself and in a slight panic here. I had a fantastic weight loss last summer - June, July and August I lost 20lb and felt bloody brilliant. Stalled in September but kept it off until Jan then the last lockdown got to me and I have regained 7lb. Now, I know thats not loads but it puts my lovely big loss last summer back quite a bit and I can feel the inches going back on. It’s such a shame because I felt amazing slimmer and very proud of myself for shifting the pounds I’d been holding on to since my last baby (cough...three years ago!).

For context: I was 11st 9, I got to 10st 3 and am back up to 10st 10. My initial goal, which I never quite managed was 9st 12. I’d love to get there this time.

The burst of glorious weather today made me feel I want to BE slim this summer rather than “slimming” this summer. I want to do it now and not wait for the heatwave to kill my appetite Grin

Anyone else want to shift up to a stone now and not wait until two weeks before their holiday...what holiday??? Grin

No weight loss for me but an inch off my boobs this week 😊 and I haven’t been doing much weights work and I’ve been running a bit less as well. So I’m happy 😊

Looks like I've found my people! I'm so similar to a lot of you - 5 foot 2 and last week weighed in at 67.8kg - the heaviest I've ever been.
Today I weighed 66.9, so a couple of pounds gone. Target weight 61.8kg.

My problems are sweet treats after lunch and dinner, and lockdown wine most nights (which must be paired with crisps and possibly crackers and cheese, too).

I've greatly reduced the treats, cut waaay back on the wine, and reduced my portion sizes. So glad to get some motivation to reduce my alcohol consumption - these lockdowns have been really bad for my health.

I think I've found the one!! I am 5'3 and was 9'7 on Tuesday and would like to get to 8'10. I started Fast800 on Monday (didn't weigh myself that day weirdly) and am 9.25 today! I haven't found it THAT restricting and have been logging EVERYTHING with MFP. They say Fast800 can be done for anything from 2-12 weeks and then you drop down to 5:2. I'm planning on doing this until Friday as I have a meal out planned Saturday. I can't believe it's taken me so long to find the thing that works for me! (I'm 50 in November)

sugarstar · 09/05/2021 18:09

I'll join in!
I'm really noticing my clothes tightening again after a birthday and weekend away.

I'm currently 10st11 and really should be looking to lose a stone.
I've tried intermittent fasting and 5:2 but it's really challenging.
I think calorie counting is probably the best way but it's fitting it in during the day with 2 demanding toddlers and a full on job.

Anyway I must try harder.

swampytiggaa · 09/05/2021 19:57

After not losing anything when I weighed on Thursday I jumped on the scales this morning and I’m 9:12! Lost 7lb in total 😊

Really pleased that the fasting seems to be working 👍 it’s easy enough tbh now I’m into it again 😊

DaffyDaffy · 10/05/2021 13:20

Can I join this thread please? I see it started a while ago, but I absolutely must lose a stone and really appreciate being able to account for myself!

Currently in the supermarket car park so I’m hoping that committing to this thread will mean I avoid buying the biscuits!

I have a stone to lose from now which will take me to the middle of my healthy bmi and will mean I don’t have to go out and buy new jeans!

sugarstar · 10/05/2021 19:52

Well I've had a right 24 hours with DH being admitted to hospital. He's out now and recovering but I've definitely reached for the chocolate and biscuits more than I should have Confused

Thank goodness for Halo ice cream! That's such a god send in time of crisis during a diet!

Going shopping in a mo so will try to stock up on easy healthy food.

DaffyDaffy · 11/05/2021 07:13

Gosh, I hope your DH is okay, @sugarstar?!

DaffyDaffy · 12/05/2021 18:01

I seem to have stopped this thread in its tracks Blush

Is anyone still going? I’m on day three of resisting the junk plus clocking up some walking miles. My dd has announced she wants a swimming party in her birthday I’m the summer, so there’s some motivation right there!

Posting on a thread like this really helped another time I needed to lose weight. (The same stone, of course).

DaffyDaffy · 12/05/2021 18:01

on her bday in the summer.

Gah

redkiteflying · 12/05/2021 18:18

I'm still here, weigh in day tomorrow. Have been sticking to calories but feeling very demotivated after no loss last week. Can't see a physical difference so not holding out much hope of a drop tomorrow tbh

DaffyDaffy · 12/05/2021 19:20

Hello @redkiteflying, you never know... although I don’t think anyone just goes down in a linear fashion, there’s always weeks you do everything right and gain a pound! Hang in there Smile

redkiteflying · 12/05/2021 19:34

Thanks @DaffyDaffy - sounds like you've got a great reason to stay motivated! Best of luck to you
Meant to say down thread that I am also aiming to buy new jeans once the stone has gone... was hoping to treat myself to a good quality pair (for the first time ever)

redkiteflying · 12/05/2021 19:37

Oh for an edit button! Oh well

swampytiggaa · 12/05/2021 20:58

I’m still here! Fasting and trying to keep out of the biscuit tin! Weighing and measuring tomorrow morning 😊

DaffyDaffy · 12/05/2021 22:23

Hey @swampytiggaa, I'm not fasting as such but try not to eat in the morning because I feel less hungry then, and once I’m started I keep on packing those calories in! How are you finding it?

It looks like Thursday is weigh-in day...? Perhaps I shall brave the scales and see if my three days’ effort has made an enormous difference! (Even though I wore through my jeans today because they’re too tight 😭)

swampytiggaa · 13/05/2021 08:04

@DaffyDaffy I try to only eat between 12 and 8. Usually I’ve finished eating by 6pm tbh. It stops me snacking in the evening!

redkiteflying · 13/05/2021 09:04

Well I wasn't holding out much hope for today's weigh in but have lost 0.5kg. Half a kilo in 2 weeks is still not making me feel great tbh, still feeling at quite a low ebb. Will try and up my exercise over the next week as that should help my mentally even if it doesn't have much of an effect on weight loss.

redkiteflying · 13/05/2021 09:05

Also noticed a hole in the seam of the only pair of jeans that I can still get on so they've obviously given up on me ☹️

DaffyDaffy · 13/05/2021 10:37

Here you go @redkiteflying, this always cheers me up!

A stone or less to lose
DaffyDaffy · 13/05/2021 10:39

...let’s hope our jeans hold out!!

@swampytiggaa, I found it okay for the first few days but have started waking up at night... not hungry exactly, but maybe just out of rhythm. The hours-keeping is definitely helping me curb the snacking though!

swampytiggaa · 13/05/2021 10:43

@DaffyDaffy nothing wakes me in the night 😂😂 tbh I get up at 3 for work so I sleep like a corpse at any opportunity 😂😂

DaffyDaffy · 13/05/2021 10:45
Shock
swampytiggaa · 13/05/2021 11:25

Just weighed and measured. Heavier than Sunday but I have my period so that explains that.

However. I am 2lb down from last Thursday and have lost half an inch on my boobs and hips and a full inch on my waist 😊 so I’ll take that as a definite win!

I’m under 10 stone still which is good. Next goal is 9:7 but not too worried about how long it takes

redkiteflying · 13/05/2021 12:07

Ha thanks @DaffyDaffy! Put like that it defo looks like more of an achievement
@swampytiggaa I think we have similar goals. My happy weight is still a stone to a stone and a half away tho - am short, tiny feet/v petite framed etc when it's not covered in flab
