Fitbit Friends-anyone up for a Fitbit challenge?

I'm loving my Fitbit and get such a sense of achievement from all the stats. I don't run or do anything exciting, I just walk and am lucky to live in a hilly place so I tend to get plenty of floors into my daily goals. I was wondering if anyone fancied joining me and sharing their Fitbit goals and achievements to encourage ourselves and others? I'm not familiar with the challenges on the app as have no real life friends to do this with and am aware it might be a privacy issue so maybe we could share daily goals and achievements by screenshot or free text or however.

My goals are:

Steps 10,000
Floors 25
Active minutes 30
Distance 3 miles

My stats for today are:

Steps 20,097
Floors 81
Active minutes 125
Distance 8.28 miles

The school run is 5 miles at a minimum and today I've taken a longer route on the way home both times but gone the quick way there. There's big hills involved and I live in a town house so floors are fairly easy to come by. I don't drive so walk everywhere which helps too.

Please come and join me for an active Spring! If anyone knows how to do the challenges/trophies thing and remain anonymous then please let me know.

I'm thinking of increasing my goals as most days I'm exceeding them although then it won't be such an achievement maybe?

Today I'm hoping to reach 20,000 steps and 100 floors. The active minutes and miles come naturally with those two goals.

Just me then Grin

I don’t have a Fitbit, but I do have an activity monitor. Today’s stats:
Steps: 15080
Distance: 10.25km
Calories burned: 1204

I’m trying to do 100,000 steps per week.
I’m only allowing myself wine on days I burn 1000+ calories.

I’m impressed with your 20,000 steps - I only ever manage that at the weekend.

zzizzer · 11/03/2021 06:31

I'll join OP! I had a dismal day yesterday- didn't finish exercise or go for a proper walk. Would be good to have some encouragement Smile

zzizzer · 11/03/2021 06:36

I like the 100k steps per week challenge too. Looking at my fitbit I average 65-75 per week, so that would be a proper little challenge.

Newt432 · 11/03/2021 06:48

I put my Fitbit on yesterday after starting back at work. My goals are more modest

Get to 10k steps 4x a week and 5k steps each day minimum.

Yesterday I got to 9211! And 54 floors (can you tell there’s stairs!)

Aiming for 10k steps today by parking further away!

Jumpers268 · 11/03/2021 06:51

Me too! I also like the 100k a week goal as then I don't have to stress when I'm working and do like 500 steps in 8 hours.

FlatteredFool · 11/03/2021 07:28

Yay! 100k a week? You're on! I did 95k last week so hopefully I can up that to meet the challenge. I've done 61k so far this week.

Sweetener12 · 11/03/2021 08:28

100k a week sounds great to me, I'm in too!

Jumpers268 · 11/03/2021 08:55

I'm only on 51k this week. Haha. Best take the dog out..... 😂.

FlatteredFool · 11/03/2021 18:45

78,630 so far this week so I should hit the 100k challenge. I'm really hungry today and doing intermittent fasting and cutting calories which is tough when being so active. I've clocked 110 floors today and that will increase by the end of the day. No wonder I'm tired snd hungry!

110 floors too @FlatteredFool! Today is my best day ever haha. 66k so far this week. Although should add. I didn't get a notification on the thread!

@Jumpers268 awesome! What are zone minutes? Have you been walking up lots of hills like me as well as stairs or just stairs?

OP posts:
Jumpers268 · 11/03/2021 20:29

I'm not sure on zone minutes. I think it's my heart rate going up. I hoovered today and it said I was doing an aerobic exercise (I'm really not fit at all). I live in an incredibly hilly area but also did a lot of stairs. It seems to notice the hills more though. Are you hilly too? @FlatteredFool

FlatteredFool · 11/03/2021 20:36

I am very hilly Grin I was ill last month and vomiting and my Fitbit registered active minutes then despite me lying down all day so I figured it must be my heart rate going up when being sick!

OublietteBravo · 11/03/2021 21:39

15513 steps today (or 82,570 for the week after 5 days). And I miraculously managed to miss the rain and the hail. Pretty sure I’ll make it to 100,000 by the end of Saturday,

Jumpers268 · 11/03/2021 21:43

@FlatteredFool I laughed but that's my sense of humour! Glad you're clearly feeling better!

@OublietteBravo wow 82k already. I need to up my game.

FlatteredFool · 11/03/2021 22:08

Final count for the day. 80,095 for the week so far.

Challenge met! No big walk for us today as we are isolating pending covid results but the walk to the rest centre got me to reach my target. If negative then we will have our big walk tomorrow.
How is everyone doing?

Well done OP! I think I'm starting properly on Monday as I've failed miserably this week. Aiming to do my usual boxercise, ringfit and adding zumba this weekend though as prep Smile

Jumpers268 · 13/03/2021 18:30

Challenge met too!!! I was so happy 😂😂😂. I've been walking way more than normal just to try and hit it. Sunday is notoriously a shit day for steps for me....

Jumpers268 · 13/03/2021 18:31

Also fingers crossed for a negative result! I've had to self isolate 3 times now and it's horrid!

OublietteBravo · 13/03/2021 20:41

100,000 steps achieved!

FlatteredFool · 13/03/2021 21:30

Awesome!
Maybe we should have done smaller goals for those who are office based or for whatever reason aren't able to walk as much as 100k as it is a lot for most people. I don't drive and school is over a mile away so I do 5 miles a day easily during the week.

OP posts:
zzizzer · 14/03/2021 08:16

I'm in a desk job, but don't mind the bigger targets - it'll be a push to make myself go for longer walks. If I ever actually hit 100k it'll mean something! Smile
