Starting 1st March - who is with me?!

I'm 5.7 and 13 stone at the moment which is the heaviest I've ever been. None of my clothes fit me properly and I feel awful.

I want to loose 20lb before the end of May when it gets warmer and we have to see people face to face again rather than trying to find a flattering angle on zoom!

I've tried weight watchers, slimming world, calorie counting and nothing has worked for me because I start a diet on a Monday and have given up by Friday.

I know if I don't do this now I'm going to feel even more depressed come summer when none of my lovely summer clothes fit.

So I'm starting tomorrow and will calorie count, 1,600 a day which is about right for my height and won't make me hangry all day. I'm going to weigh in on a Monday morning. I think I am going to need some support because lovely food and drink is pretty much what has got me through the last year! But if I can loose 20lb before summer it will be worth the sacrifice.

Is anyone with me?!

Miserable fail yesterday. I was so pissed off that I hadn't lost anything that I comforted myself with a hot chocolate and pack of chocolate buttons before bed. Oh dear.

Today is a new day. Soup for breakfast so not a bad start.

IslaRoseGraceEtc · 18/03/2021 13:21

Keep at it cartwheelsteel it'll come off eventually.

I am +2lbs from Monday- why??? Oh wait because I mainlined ice cream and biscuits all day yesterday.

Today is indeed another day!

colouringindoors · 18/03/2021 16:54

Total fail yesterday for me too.
Ended up with more wine and then Pringles. Grrr. week 3 proving rubbish.

notlisteningwithmother · 18/03/2021 17:27

Out of the mouths of children - my DS said last night 'a treat isn't a treat if you have one every day.' I could do with some of that attitude Blush

I'm doing okay this week after adjusting my expectations last week. The optimism that my clothes would be loose within days was silly, and I need to take a longer-term view. And adopt that 'today is another day' mentality.

Logging food on an app is showing me where the wasted calories are lurking and hopefully I'm getting out of the habit of mindless nibbling while I'm in the kitchen. I read somewhere that it takes a good 8-10 weeks to break a habit though, so there's a long way to go yet!

colouringindoors · 19/03/2021 00:04

I can't diet when I'm premenstrual.

notlisteningwithmother · 19/03/2021 11:37

With you there colouring! I'm a bit crampy today and I swear that I can hear a chocolate biscuit in the kitchen calling my name over the noise of our neighbour using some massive machine to dig up his patio.

theremarkablerocket · 19/03/2021 12:48

Just plodding along here. Masses of digging to do this weekend to get the garden ready to returf so hopefully that will burn a good few calories.

Breakfast - porridge with raisins
Lunch - kale and feta salad, half a wrap with hummus. Apple.
Dinner - 3 Quorn sausages, mash potato, purple sprouting broccoli, onion gravy. Creme egg
Snacks - pita bread (stayed away from the leftovers!)

colouringindoors · 19/03/2021 18:20

I have just about managed to stay the same weight this week which is pretty annoying. Really want my period to arrive and I'll hopefully be a bit more motivated again!

notlistening that sounds fun 🙄
keep plodding rocket!

theremarkablerocket · 20/03/2021 09:08

Right, down 1.1kg on Monday atm so just need to try and keep the weekend gain to a minimum (while also having a nice time...).

Yesterday:

Breakfast - porridge with raisins
Lunch - kale salad, garlic bread, apple.
Dinner - sweet potato and purple sprouting broccoli katsu curry and rice. Dark chocolate.
Snacks - pita bread, apple

colouringindoors · 20/03/2021 10:53

well done remarkable!

my fav local cafe has just posted a photo of a lemon &raspberry meringue pie
which looks AMAZING and that combined with major PMS is proving deadly!!!

WinoLino · 21/03/2021 15:00

Anyone else find it really hard to eat healthily on a Sunday? I just want junk!

colouringindoors · 21/03/2021 22:30

Totally! in fact the whole weekend 🙄 tomorrow is a new day...

kittybee · 22/03/2021 07:46

Morning all. I’m feeling a bit demotivated. I’m sticking very strictly to my eating plan, except at weekends when I give myself a bit of leeway. I seem to lose weight (I got to 11 3) but then it goes straight back on the next day. This is the longest I’ve stuck to an eating plan, and I’m not giving up, but it’s frustrating.

SW 12 1/4
CA 11 5 3/8
GW 9 something

How’s everyone else doing?

kittybee · 22/03/2021 07:47

*CW

theremarkablerocket · 22/03/2021 09:00

Also really struggled over the weekend. Feel like no matter how well I do all week I undo it all over the weekend. Can't decide whether I should make a big effort at the weekend and reach my goal weight sooner or accept a slower rate of loss and stop beating myself up about weekends.

After weighing myself yesterday morning and being a bit shocked I did try hard yesterday so am down .9kg (2lb) from last week.

SW 69.1kg
CW 66.8kg
GW 62.5kg

Getting very close to a mini target of 66.5kg which is what I have logged in MFP as my weight six weeks after DC2 was born - DC3 is 18 weeks!

You're not the only one! Saturday seems to be the worst day for me 🙄
JustSaying101 · 22/03/2021 09:53

Morning all ☕ Hope everyone had a good weekend. Agree with you @kittybee & @theremarkablerocket about feeling a bit demotivated/struggling from the weekend. Last week was a pretty good week though, so just going to dust myself off and try and push it this week!

Going to try and stick to a similar menu everyday this week, although a little boring!

B - porridge and sliced banana/blueberries
L - tuna salad sandwich, yogurt, fruit
D - chicken casserole with baked potato and veg
Snacks - protein balls, rice cakes

Aiming to up the exercise this week too, as didn't do much last week.

Wishing you all a great week, we can do this!

Mreggsworth · 22/03/2021 10:47

Over did it at weekend with wine and take away. Woke up all puffy with carb face :(

I really need to start taking this seriously. It's not that far till things reopen and I want to fit into nice clothes!

theremarkablerocket · 23/03/2021 08:44

Yesterday was very carb heavy but I spent about four hours digging up our scraggy old lawn so feel like I probably burnt enough calories to make up for it!

Breakfast - porridge with raisins
Lunch - leftover pad Thai. Apple
Dinner - pasta with kale pesto. Mini eggs
Snacks - half a pita

colouringindoors · 23/03/2021 10:01

I have been stuck at 11 10 for over a week now. Admittedly there’s been some carbier days but this is getting ridiculous! Grrr hope everyon else is having more success. Really wanted to get to 11 7 for Easter (and then maintain despite chocolate).

notlisteningwithmother · 23/03/2021 10:19

I didn't have the best weekend either!

On the good side, I took a long brisk walk on Sunday which blew away the cobwebs and made me feel like I'd had proper exercise rather than just dawdling to school and back with DC.

I've done a few more of the 'drop a dress size' 7 minute videos, and no, I have not dropped a dress size. But just getting up from the table and moving is good. And it is sometimes enough of a distraction from the munchies.

No real change in weight over the last week though. Half a pound? Nothing gained, but it would be nice to see that the effort is paying off. That said, I'm always slightly surprised to see how calories add up during the day when I log food. Being a bit more disciplined this week and next might give me a boost before Easter.

Mreggsworth · 24/03/2021 08:54

I've really struggled last few days. Not even been that hungry just had 0 will power. Everytime I try to do moderation it just back fires, I do much better when I just say no completely to any chocolate or surgery stuff

colouringindoors · 24/03/2021 11:46

mregg ah that's tough. I know what you mean re moderation.... could you say no sugar mon-fri?

Mreggsworth · 24/03/2021 15:20

@colouringindoors

Possibly. I should just cut it out all together, I dont even have that much of a sweet tooth, it's my boyfriend that's the issue. When hes eating something I'm like a dog, pester him to give me some of what hes eating Grin though unlike him I don't have a turn off button and know when to stop.

When I say no I'm absolutely fine, it's when I want to just have a "little nibble" it turns into several hundred calories.

colouringindoors · 24/03/2021 17:19

I'm the same. Can't do a nibble. Or one glass...

Treated myself to an excellent "homemade" by small local baker after having surgical procedure this morning. Now craving wine, cake, chocolate.... I have heard sugar can be is as addictive as heroin... I don't know about that but I find it massively addictive.
