Starting 1st March - who is with me?!

I'm 5.7 and 13 stone at the moment which is the heaviest I've ever been. None of my clothes fit me properly and I feel awful.

I want to loose 20lb before the end of May when it gets warmer and we have to see people face to face again rather than trying to find a flattering angle on zoom!

I've tried weight watchers, slimming world, calorie counting and nothing has worked for me because I start a diet on a Monday and have given up by Friday.

I know if I don't do this now I'm going to feel even more depressed come summer when none of my lovely summer clothes fit.

So I'm starting tomorrow and will calorie count, 1,600 a day which is about right for my height and won't make me hangry all day. I'm going to weigh in on a Monday morning. I think I am going to need some support because lovely food and drink is pretty much what has got me through the last year! But if I can loose 20lb before summer it will be worth the sacrifice.

Is anyone with me?!

Update on what I've eaten..pretty close to what I planned to eat.

Breakfast- huel bar
Lunch- huel savoury mix, yoghurt and tangerine
Snack - brunch bar and kefir
2 x coffees (2 sugars in each) splash of milk
3 squares of this pink chocolate stuff that came free with nespresso.
Home made juice - melon, spinach, apple
Dinner - cod with chickpeas, sweet potato and butternut squash and coconut curry

Mfp is saying its about 1600 cals in total. Though I feel it should be less as feel I've under eaten as im feeling a lil woozy.

Hi all, hope I am not to late to join?!

I started on the 1st so here’s the stats:

SW 11.3
CW 10.13
GW1 10.7
TW 10st for the end of April 🤞🤞

My biggest weakness is my sweeet tooth (I have to have it) and my completely lazy lifestyle!

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 05/03/2021 06:51

Yesterday's meals
Breakfast... Fruit and yoghurt
Lunch... 2 boiled eggs and salad
Dinner... 3 sausages, carrots, peas, sweetcorn (and no Yorkshire pudding).
Small amount of chocolate.

Friday night is usually our 'easy' dinner... Microwave meal or pizza. Trying to decide what to have. Pizza is out. I'm thinking of something like duck pancakes.

Last day of home learning. Will have time for proper exercise during the day from Monday (and extra walking)

theremarkablerocket · 05/03/2021 07:43

@Aroundtheworldin80moves Friday night is usually an easy dinner here too - DH works 7am - 10pm on a Fri so there's no way I'm up to anything elaborate after wrangling three kids for 12 hours! I've gone for fish cakes this week - still a bit indulgent but better than the usual pizza or ready meal.

Yesterday was pretty good -

Breakfast - porridge with raisins
Lunch - leftover kale, butter bean tomato bake, half a pita, apple.
Dinner - kale pesto pasta, tomato and mozzarella salad. Mini eggs.
Snacks - half a pita
Exercise - 20 mins yoga, hauling paving slabs around, walk to the shops

I'm currently down 1kg (bit more than 2lb) on Monday. I know I'll put a bit back on over the weekend but hoping to end up at least .6 - .7kg down by Monday.

Mreggsworth · 05/03/2021 08:50

I weighed myself this morning. I was going to put it off for a while but felt up feeling a bit lighter so was curious. 13 stone 1.

To get to a healthy weight I need to be 12 stone 7. So that will be my first milestone.

Plan for today
Breakfast- huel bar 200 cal
Coffee - 70 cal

Lunch - huel savoury mix 400 cal
Yoghurt and orange 90 cal
Juice - 40 cal

Coffee - 70 cal

Wine - 625

Dinner- bowl of chilli - 400 cal

1825 cals

Cisonostatibellagiorni · 05/03/2021 09:06

I dropped two lbs yesterday so 11st 1lbs (GW 10st) so very pleased with that.
So pleased I then went and over ate Hmm
I won't weigh myself today, but probably will tomorrow or Sunday.

Today's food plan is:
Breakfast: tea, orange juice (100ml) and two scrambled eggs (no butter or milk, no toast) with some salad bits - lettuce, cucumber and red pepper (252kcal)

Lunch: a flat bread and a tin of chicken soup and some salad (317kcal)

Dinner: Gousto meal (warming persian noodle soup) (370kcal)

Drinks: 3 X tea with milk (69kcal), several cups of black tea (0kcal)
Snack: banana (105kcal)

Total: 1113kcal

Low, but leaves room for any odd bits I might end up nibbling on.

It's funny, sometimes the calories seem to go really far and give me three good meals and snacks and other days with barely any difference it seems to barely get me to lunch Shock

EvilOnion · 05/03/2021 09:30

Morning all, how's everyone feeling now the weekend is here?

Bit dull here, it's DC2's 8th birthday today so we have a little birthday buffet planned at my Mum's after school - lots of nibbles and bits which I plan on enjoying so it's a light breakfast/lunch today:)

Have a good day everyone :o

JustSaying101 · 05/03/2021 09:40

Morning all, thank goodness it's Friday! Great to hear everyone is doing ok so far.

Yesterday was an ok-ish day food wise:
B - cereal and banana
L - egg salad sandwich with some crisps
D - chicken casserole with some new potatoes and veg
Snacks - pear, rice cake, plum, yogurt

Hoping today will similar to yesterday, although I'm going to try and make some calorie space for a couple of glasses of wine tonight too!

LlamaofDrama · 05/03/2021 09:57

I'm in, please! I did start on Monday, and I'm also on the 16:8 thread. I want to lose at least half a stone, somewhere between 3/4 and 1 would be amazing but isn't very likely! I'm nearly 50, peri and on HRT which doesn't seem to help. I'm also bloody lazy with a serious chocolate habit.

I was 8st 10 3/4 on Monday (v short, fatter than it sounds!), 8.9 1/4 yesterday so seeing some progress. Aim isn't really based on time, I just want to get there but if I can do 1lb a week my clothes will fit after Easter when I might be back in the office!

I need every bit of motivation I can find to get me through to the kitchen opening at 11 ish, 11.30 if I can, and Friday is the hardest day of the week.

Mreggsworth · 05/03/2021 15:47

I got a bit peckish this afternoon so I poured a small glass of kefir. It made me feel really full. I don't know if anyone likes it, it is a bit of an acquired taste but think I'm going to start regularly incorporating it into my day as it really took the edge off my hunger.

Cisonostatibellagiorni · 05/03/2021 16:20

@Mreggsworth I love kefir! Really great and good for the gut and some evidence good for the brain/anxiety etc too.

My day started off so well and has deteriorated fast. Husband bought a sticky bun and then some birthday cake at work Blush
Tomorrow is another day...

colouringindoors · 05/03/2021 17:36

no change weight-wise this morning but am trying not to be demotivated!

Mreggsworth · 05/03/2021 20:26

Pretty much kept to my morning plan. On the wine now. But even so shouldn't take me over 2000 today.

@Cisonostatibellagiorni glad theres another kefir fan. I used to drink it regularly when I lived at home as my mum used to make it, always made me feel healthy and good but could never really put my finger on why. Definitely going to start getting it as part of my regular shopping (not home made - way too much faff)

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 05/03/2021 20:34

Today has gone reasonably well.
Breakfast... 2 scrambled eggs
Lunch... Fish fingers, lettuce, cucumber, pepper, bit of sweet chilli sauce
Snack... Small piece of chocolate
Dinner.. duck pancakes, small glass of wine

Exercise... A massive victory dance for the end of home learning.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 05/03/2021 20:36

Today not so good!

Toast with chicken salad on one slice, Whole Earth PB on the other
OJ
Latte and a brownie
Sushi

IslaRoseGraceEtc · 06/03/2021 08:29

10st5 today down 2lbs from Monday. I'm always heavier after the weekend so it isnt a "real" loss.

Went way over my calories (but still under tdee) Weds and Fri so no real idea why the scales have gone down. They were stressful days at work so I hit the biscuits. No more left in the house . . .

theremarkablerocket · 06/03/2021 08:29

Not too bad yesterday -

Breakfast - Porridge with raisins
Lunch - Flatbread with kale pesto, hummus and raw veg, apple
Dinner - Fish cakes with red cabbage coleslaw (made with vinegar not mayo), creme egg
Snacks - Half a pita, apple

Down another .4kg this morning so if I can keep the weekend gain under that I'll have lost 1kg (2.25lb) overall this week which I'll be really pleased with.

Mreggsworth · 06/03/2021 09:32

Weight myself this morning. I'm 12.7 this morning from 13.1. So 4 pound loss from yesterday Hmm. Maybe my scales are broken?

Anyway meal plans today.
Breakfast - huel bar
Lunch - juice, huel savoury mix

Dinner - take away curry and wine - will definitely go over 2000 cals today but I'll try and use some restraint !

JustSaying101 · 06/03/2021 18:38

Hello everyone, hope you are all having a nice weekend?

Yesterday was a pretty good day food wise, however today has been not so good..! Indulged in some cakes that DC made and have definitely snuck a few chips off plates 🙄 One the plus side, I've done lots of walking today so am hoping that it may even things out!

Why are weekends so difficult?! Hoping the scales will be kind to me on Monday!

colouringindoors · 06/03/2021 18:53

hi justsaying weekends are definitely more difficult! I was down another lb this morning so am treating myself to wine tonight even though that lb will prob be back on tomorrow, but have been soooooo good all week....

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 06/03/2021 19:18

Today's food
Breakfast... Fruit and yoghurt
Lunch Veg soup with one piece of French bread
Dinner Hairy Dieters Chicken tikka masala (it's about 350calories per portion), poppadoms. Plus a sneaky home made chicken nugget
Snacks... Small orange, biltong.
Drinks... Small glass of wine.

Weekends definitely harder. DH likes to cook us a 'grown up' dinner on Saturdays... Stuff DD don't like. We have two of the Hairy Dieters cook books which have some lovely lighter recipes in, and we are careful with our sides.

I'm allowing myself a bottle of wine spread over the weekend. Since it's usually 3 bottles a week Blush I'm seeing it as an improvement.

cartwheelsteel · 07/03/2021 07:18

Definitely finding the weekend more difficult here too. Lockdown doesn't help, we were using food to mark the weekend really - a take away and lots of treats!

Friday was a bit of a disaster (had a take away and a glass of wine). I did manage to limit my portion a bit, but obviously it's not exactly ideal! Yesterday was a better day and managed to get nicely over 10,000 steps too. Am hoping for similar today.

Looking forward to Monday when my eldest will be back at school, so will be doing drop off / pick ups which will no doubt vastly increase my number of steps!

Does anyone know if we can get out to exercise more than once a day after Monday? I couldn't see anything online saying we couldn't, so am assuming we can?

theremarkablerocket · 07/03/2021 09:26

Yesterday was not good AT ALL.

Breakfast - porridge with banana and raisins (started ok!)
Lunch - tuna melt and chips (less good)
Dinner - veggie biryani and curry, half a naan. Creme egg. Gin and tonic (oh dear)
Snacks - MASSIVE donut (Confused)

Exercise - yoga, 5.5k run, hauling paving slabs around, lots of walking with DH and DCs.

Well up on yesterday's weight this morning. DH already talking burritos for lunch. My willpower is just nonexistent when other people are having tasty things. I also feel a bit weird about turning them down in front of the DC? We all eat pretty healthily for the most part and chat a lot about what our bodies do and don't need but we do have treats at the weekend and I don't really want them to know I'm trying to lose weight. Maybe I just need to work out a sensible way to explain it to them.

IslaRoseGraceEtc · 07/03/2021 09:55

Cartwheelsteel the stay at home order doesn't end until 29 March so technically once a day exercise until then.

Stuck within my calorie allowance yesterday and 1lb up today - weekend effect as usual.

cartwheelsteel · 07/03/2021 10:43

@IslaRoseGraceEtc ah that's a shame, my legs would definitely benefit from more opportunities venturing out without a toddler in tow. I think I may have to start pacing up and down the stairs instead!
