Starting 1st March - who is with me?!

I'm 5.7 and 13 stone at the moment which is the heaviest I've ever been. None of my clothes fit me properly and I feel awful.

I want to loose 20lb before the end of May when it gets warmer and we have to see people face to face again rather than trying to find a flattering angle on zoom!

I've tried weight watchers, slimming world, calorie counting and nothing has worked for me because I start a diet on a Monday and have given up by Friday.

I know if I don't do this now I'm going to feel even more depressed come summer when none of my lovely summer clothes fit.

So I'm starting tomorrow and will calorie count, 1,600 a day which is about right for my height and won't make me hangry all day. I'm going to weigh in on a Monday morning. I think I am going to need some support because lovely food and drink is pretty much what has got me through the last year! But if I can loose 20lb before summer it will be worth the sacrifice.

Is anyone with me?!

Never tried heroin so cant compare Grin but sugar is definitely addictive. If I go a couple days with 0 sugar I dont crave it, if I just have a taste of it i just end up picking at sweet stuff in the cupboard for the rest of the day. It would be great if I could just not buy the stuff but my boyfriends trying to gain weight so cupboards are full of carbs and sweet treats :(

I also can't stop at one glass. That's why currently only allowing myself to drink fri and sat and I try to eat less on Friday to allow myself more wine calories.

I've been watching loads of "what I eat in a day" videos on YouTube. Find them really fascinating, especially the Japanese or Korean ones, the meals are so balanced and look so big. Really shows you dont have to restrict so much to be thin.

Urgh, struggling this week. Finding it hard to stay away from the leftovers and that seems to be enough to make my weight plateau - it's been the same for three days now. Also maybe need to watch my portions when I have pasta? Otherwise I'm not really sure what's changed. Or maybe I've just reached a stage I need to reduce my calorie intake to kick start things again?

Skipped a couple of days but here's yesterday:

Breakfast - porridge with raisins
Lunch - leftover dairy free fish pie. Apple.
Dinner - cabbage, lemon and bread crumb pasta. Mini eggs
Snacks - whole pita, couple of small slices of garlic bread (leftovers), apple

I'm a pound up :( however aunt flow is in town so blaming it on that. On the bright side though I've been eating really healthy last few days, getting over my 5 a day and having mainly plant based meals and I feel amazing!

Though. From the lack of weight loss I realise that intuitive eating even if healthy doesn't work for me. So need to stick to calorie counting. I've set an alarm on my phone every morning reminding me now to use mfp.

Today's meal plan
Breakfast
-green juice shot
-small glass of kefir
-tangerine
-huel bar

Lunch -
-banana, pineapple, spinach and blueberry smoothie with coconut milk, also going to add a spoon of collagen powder.

Tea
-chickpea and butterbean burgers with flat bread and salsa

Evening - 2 glasses of red wine

F$%king salf and vinegar Pringles are the work of the devil!

JustSaying101 · 28/03/2021 21:42

How was everyone's weekend? Last week went ok for me, stuck to planned meals, etc. However, the weekend hasn't been as successful! Currently half a bottle of wine down and 2 chocolate freddos have somehow ended up being consumed along with it 🤦‍♀️ Hoping for a better week ahead!

theremarkablerocket · 29/03/2021 08:48

I'm completely the same @JustSaying101. I do really well all week and then just blow it at the weekend. Was down a kilo on Friday but put a chunk of it back on.

So:
SW: 69.1kg
CW: 66.4kg
GW: 62.5kg

Definitely a bit disappointed not to have lost more before Easter - I'm not holding out much hope of staying away from the mountains of chocolate my ILs always give the DCs!

Mreggsworth · 29/03/2021 21:58

Pretty good today
Smoothie breakfast
Veg and quorn wrap for lunch
Kimchi fried rice with greens for tea

theremarkablerocket · 30/03/2021 08:57

@Mreggsworth Kimchi fried rice sounds delish! Might do that tonight instead of a stir-fry.

Yesterday wasn't great DH was off work and suggested fish and chips for dinner which I am powerless to resist...

Breakfast- porridge with raisins
Lunch - falafel and hummus in pita
Dinner - fish and chips, mini eggs
Snacks - lolly

notlisteningwithmother · 31/03/2021 15:42

I've been denying the existence of last weekend's willpower out the window situation in the presence of chocolate cake! When I finally stood on the scales I'd lost a little bit (about one pound?) so it isn't all bad news.

I was hoping to get ahead of myself before Easter. Oh well, only myself to blame for a slow start. Hopefully a bit more exercise will help, along with meal planning that includes mainly healthy stuff. Some portion control with the Easter eggs would be useful too!

Mreggsworth · 01/04/2021 20:13

Hi everyone. Been doing well. Not been calorie counting as I would like to as my weeks been non stop so its just not crossed my mind. Not weighed myself but I've had a bit of a confidence boost, ordered some clothes of next and sosandar, size 10 tops and 12 bottoms and all fit. Though I'm all lumpy and bumpy so some things dont quite sit right. I dont know if its because I used to be quite muscular but because I've not exercised properly for so long it's all turning to mush making me look doughy? ...is that a thing ?

theremarkablerocket · 02/04/2021 09:11

@Mreggsworth brilliant that your new gear fits! I've ordered a couple of pairs of jeans so hoping I can report the same when they arrive...

Day 2 of the Easter holidays and already struggling to stick to the healthy diet. Baked choc chip cookies with the DCs yesterday and scoffed far more for testing purposes than was necessary... Probably going to be aiming not to gain over the next couple of weeks rather than lose anything.

Mreggsworth · 10/04/2021 00:09

Anyone still hanging on?

JustSaying101 · 16/04/2021 11:20

Morning all, how was your Easter holidays? Yep, still hanging in there @Mreggsworth - only just though after all the Easter choc!

Calorie counting pretty much went out of the window over the holidays, so hoping to get back into it again.

Today's menu (hopefully I can stick to it today!):

B - shredded wheat cereal & blueberries
L - tuna salad sandwich, yogurt, apple
D - cottage pie with broccoli
Snacks - protein balls, rice cake, plum, glass of wine tonight

Haven't really weighed myself the past couple of weeks due to all the Easter choc, so will try and have a weigh in on Monday next week 😳

Have a lovely weekend everyone and I will check in again next week.
