I was always slim to skinny but after DD 2 I did put on about a stone and a half. Way too much for my frame but it took me ages to lose it as I kept eating crisps because I bloody love them.

Well I stopped taking the bag to the sofa. I put some in a small bowl and make myself sit at the table to eat them.

Then that's that. No more.

Of course it wasn't just crisps but I did eat a LOT of them...a big bag all alone at least 3 times per week because I didn't have time to cook for myself.

Sweets I don't really eat but chocolate I do....so I put a few squares on a saucer and take those to the table too!

Lazily sitting on the sofa and scoffing crisps is no more! I have lost a stone over the past 6 months doing this...yes I've been walking daily too and drinking Kombucha.

I tip my crisps into a bowl and eat them in front of the TV. Not because I'm trying to lose weight, but because it's all too easy to eat a huge bag without realising really.

Also, it's difficult to get small bags in my local shops. They're normally big 'grab bags' that only cost a little bit more than a small one.

Horehound · 19/02/2021 23:06

Yeah I do that then I go back to the kitchen and fill up the bowl....

CarterBeatsTheDevil · 19/02/2021 23:09

Well done, OP! It's great that it works for you and you're healthier and happier as a result.

Hahahahaha Hahahaha Haha Ha
There is always one unconstructive twat. Portion control is a big thing op. You have found what works for you and that should be applauded not mocked
Cocomarine · 19/02/2021 23:16

Well, like you say - it wasn’t just the crisps.
You made a few changes to your lifestyle. Measuring the portion to avoid mindless eating is a good tip if you just have a minor weight gain with no complicated underlying cause - you just remove the food (along side your other changes).

It’s still a good tip for those with more complex reasons behind their failure to lose weight. But - sorry - it’s really not a great tip. Those with more complex resins will measure it out, then go back and eat the whole bag anyway, and feel shit about it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Marinaloves · 19/02/2021 23:17

@Cheeseandlobster
Are you genuinely taking an 11pm post with someone who advises eat less crisps and drink kombucha you lose weight seriously.

CarterBeatsTheDevil · 19/02/2021 23:27

I didn't notice the Kombucha plug at the end Grin

spaceghetto · 19/02/2021 23:28

Add a run into the mix and it's a real winner! I have a snack pot that i use (although I do sit on the sofa). I started running in lockdown, i'm the slimmest i've ever been. I went from 11stone 6 to 8 stone 10 in about 8 months.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/02/2021 23:35

Mine (which works for me but probably not for anyone else)

I cannot abide chocolate lime , even writing the words makes me gag .
So if I want to lay off the choloate , I have a glass of lime cordial instead.
Cannot have the two flavours in my body together ,

Not a fad , but stops me eating chocolate !

User5768 · 19/02/2021 23:36

So what you’re basically saying is ‘eat less’

No shit, Sherlock.

Cocomarine · 19/02/2021 23:38

Anyway, you gain weight from eating crisps and dinner. One big bag of crisps is a healthy swap for dinner 3x a week - but it’s not going to be more calories, is it?

Really don’t think this great tip is the magic one that really made a difference. That’ll have been the green tea 🤣

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/02/2021 23:38

Or you could eat raw pork and give yourself a tapeworm?

Cheaper than Kombucha I'll wager

RubysArms · 19/02/2021 23:41

Mindful eating.

ViciousJackdaw · 19/02/2021 23:46

@RubysArms

Mindful eating.
What about it?
RubysArms · 19/02/2021 23:49

it's what the OP is doing?

duh

Crankley · 19/02/2021 23:49

So if you eat less crisps you lose weight? What a revelation. Hmm

Marinaloves seems to have got it right.

LunaHeather · 19/02/2021 23:54

@User5768

So what you’re basically saying is ‘eat less’

No shit, Sherlock.

Yup.
DipSwimSwoosh · 19/02/2021 23:54

My top tip is to eat nothing after 7pm each night.

TheMatryoshka · 19/02/2021 23:57

Oh ffs

Newsflash! Eating fewer calories helps weight loss!!

You should write a book

toocold54 · 19/02/2021 23:59

I don’t eat crisps or chocolate but the idea of putting some in a bowl and eating them to lose weight has made my day and is a diet I can get on board with Grin

WorraLiberty · 20/02/2021 00:00

Well done on the weight loss OP

And ignore the snarky posts. Honestly, there's just no need for it.

PolarnOPirate · 20/02/2021 00:01

If that’s all you had to do to lose weight then you are very lucky 😄

Lalliella · 20/02/2021 00:01

You bloody love crisps? Are you Showboat Charlie? I bloody love wine. Can you tell?

RubysArms · 20/02/2021 00:02

I don't know why people are being so pissy.
