I was always slim to skinny but after DD 2 I did put on about a stone and a half. Way too much for my frame but it took me ages to lose it as I kept eating crisps because I bloody love them.

Well I stopped taking the bag to the sofa. I put some in a small bowl and make myself sit at the table to eat them.

Then that's that. No more.

Of course it wasn't just crisps but I did eat a LOT of them...a big bag all alone at least 3 times per week because I didn't have time to cook for myself.

Sweets I don't really eat but chocolate I do....so I put a few squares on a saucer and take those to the table too!

Lazily sitting on the sofa and scoffing crisps is no more! I have lost a stone over the past 6 months doing this...yes I've been walking daily too and drinking Kombucha.

I tip my crisps into a bowl and eat them in front of the TV. Not because I'm trying to lose weight, but because it's all too easy to eat a huge bag without realising really.

I don't care poeple are taking piss here or thinking it's a joke, I agree with this. i started putting crisps into a bowl on movie nights because since the bags aren't see through, you eat, eat and suddenly... Nothing! Annoying.

Also kombucha is great for digestive system. Obviously. I need to try to make my own🤔

Its not that daft to suggest that you should focus on what you eat, by sitting as if eating a meal for a snack makes it count more in your head.

OP, the size of the bowl matters too...I've realised that my plates are so book, any portion of food on them doesn't look enough so have bought some smaller ones.

I eat and drink whatever the fuck I want. Crips, chocolate, wine, everything.

BUT

I drink Kombucha and i am a size zero after 10 kids and going through the menopause

Mine (which works for me but probably not for anyone else)

I cannot abide chocolate lime , even writing the words makes me gag .
So if I want to lay off the choloate , I have a glass of lime cordial instead.
Cannot have the two flavours in my body together ,

Not a fad , but stops me eating chocolate !

I agree.. I think weighing, measuring, and portion control, while still allowing small treats, is what keeps my weight stable. If I try to give things up altogether, I feel deprived and binge.. but a little of what I fancy definitely works.

I can recommend being the victim of attempted murder by a spouse! 2 years later I am 6 stones lighter and have an eating disorder, but hey.....I am a size 8/10!

I think it’s because it’s quite self aggrandising for someone who actually hasn’t particularly struggled with their weight, to come on claiming something is a “brilliant tip”, made even more irritating because it isn’t the thing that’s really made the difference.

If OP has just said, “hey - I tip crisps out into a portion to stop myself mindlessly eating the bag, and it works for me - what tips do you have?” then the thread wouldn’t have been so mixed.

This is a MUCH better tip.

Makes you wonder why so many people are overweight when clearly you just need to tip crisps in a bowl. Who knew.

Add a run into the mix and it's a real winner! I have a snack pot that i use (although I do sit on the sofa). I started running in lockdown, i'm the slimmest i've ever been. I went from 11stone 6 to 8 stone 10 in about 8 months.

Can I ask how long/often you run for? I'm around your starting weight and that weight loss is bloody brilliant.
I really need to do something but feel crisps in a bowl won't work for me, as pp said I'd just keep going back for more.

Kombucha is a fermented drink. Fermented foods and drinks are VERY good for the body. Imho everyone should eat/deink some😁
