Morning all! Link to previous month is here:

The December thread - Lose 7lbs/3kg per month! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/4097783-The-December-thread-Lose-7lbs-3kg-per-month

All are welcome to join, there's a really good mix of diets and methods and everyone is really helpful and great at motivating each other. December was quiet but that's to be expected! I've gained a couple of pounds over the Christmas period so am starting at 16.4. Would love to be 15.10 by the end of January!

It will be a funny old month for me as I'm hopeful for my op date at some point in January so not really sure how I will go with weight loss but every pound I lose surely will make the operation easier so I'm gonna work really hard at it until I get the date through!

Have a lovely weekend!

@Howmanysleepsnow

I would give anything to be able to post that as my weight!
HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 17/01/2021 12:37

Huge difference 8n those 2 pics @cricketmum84 you're doing fantastic!

Sorry you're feeling so shocking though and I hope the docs can figure it all out for you.

Been and donated blood this morning, was strangely fun as got to just sit and chat with the nurse for a bit and don't get much chance to chat to anyone these days, how sad is that 🤣

TheStirrer · 17/01/2021 13:35

Sorry to hear you are feeling so unwell @cricketmum84. Flowers. I am hoping the doctors will work out what’s wrong and get you feeling better. You gave done amazingly well with you weight loss...Envy.
I have taken advice on board and for a change went for a bike ride yesterday for the first time in many years. Bum is agony today though .... hopefully will burn off more cals as can’t seem to spend too long sitting down Grin

Tanaqui · 17/01/2021 16:12

You look amazing @cricketmum84, but I am sorry you sound so ill. Do take care, sending lots of good wishes your way.

Howmanysleepsnow · 17/01/2021 20:12

I know 9st13 is a decent weight and a year ago I’d have been happy to post it (I was 12st12 this time last year) but I managed to hit my goal in November... then gained 8lb in December, and 4 more within a week of lockdown being announced. I’m really frustrated and annoyed with myself right now, and wish the scales would move back down as quickly as they headed up!

BarryWhiteIsMyBrother · 17/01/2021 20:15

How do you guys lose 7lbs in a month? Do you have quite a lot to lose? I am a size 10 looking to lose a final stone and my weight loss has significantly slowed down compared to the first stone. I'm on 1,200 calories a day and am 5.3

JessJonesJumps · 17/01/2021 21:41

@cricketmum84 I just came to see how you were as I read your other thread and was worried about you. I'm also concerned your DH thinks it could be diet-related and that we might be encouraging you in an eating disorder. Please take care Flowers

Howmanysleepsnow · 17/01/2021 23:23

I’m 5’6” and dropped from 10st to 9st6lb in November. (Put a lot back on- Christmas and lockdown comfort eating- so still here!)
I was/am doing 800-1000 calories a day, plus using 420-800 exercise calories.
I started at 12st 13lb but didn’t find loss stalled towards the end: it did occasionally stall en route but changing what I did (low carb for a few weeks/ 16:8/ strength exercises instead of cardio) seemed to reboot my metabolism and restart the loss.

Deepintheforest · 18/01/2021 05:31

Looking great @cricketmum84 sorry your feeling so unwell though.
@BarryWhiteIsMyBrother I don't have a huge amount to loose about 1.5 stone will put me right in the middle of a healthy BMI range. I find the loss is very slow and I usually don't get to 7lb a month but this thread are a supportive bunch so I stick around anyway.
I ate and drank a lot at the weekend as predicted and I'm also having serious trouble with shin splints so no exercise at all for at least a week maybe two which is annoying as I've really focused on getting fitter and stronger even when my diet hasn't been ideal.

OnlyOneOption · 18/01/2021 07:37

Urgh, I've somehow gained a lb which is annoying

@cricketmum84 those pics are incredible!

I'm self employed and my work has all but dried up so I've written out a schedule for mornings and evenings to make sure I don't stay in my pjs all day!

GetTheStartyParted · 18/01/2021 08:11

First week back, and I've lost 4lbs. My DH lost 4lbs too and DS lost a massive 12lbs!

Happy with my loss, I have eased myself in this week to avoid keto flu.

@cricketmum84 take care of yourself. I hope you feel better and have some answers soon. You have dropped a lot of weight this month compared to others, which could be linked to something else couldn't it.

cricketmum84 · 18/01/2021 08:56

@JessJonesJumps please don't worry, it's certainly nothing to do with you guys. I just have absolutely no appetite at the moment and a real physical aversion to food. I'm probably not the best person to run the thread right now!

Dropped another 3lbs over the weekend so that's 15lbs in 18 days. I will make sure the GP is aware when I speak to him later today though.

On the plus side I am walking a lot better today and seem to be regaining movement in my feet!! I've also got a fruit and veg order coming later with some fresh strawberries and raspberries.

@GetTheStartyParted oh my!! 20lb loss between the three of you for a week is amazing! Huge well done to you all! X

JessJonesJumps · 18/01/2021 09:18

@cricketmum84 I'm glad you're getting feeling back in your feet and that you're speaking to your GP again today. Sending you lots of love and support Flowers

I haven't been near the scales so I've no idea what I weigh. Homeschooling is more intensive this time round and I'm just trying to get into a new routine where I can fit exercise/yoga in as I don't have time to do it in the morning as I did last time homeschooling.

BarryWhiteIsMyBrother · 18/01/2021 10:17

Thank you @Deepintheforest - it's good to see that not everyone in this thread can lose 7lbs a month. I was getting quite discouraged ;-)

Deepintheforest · 18/01/2021 10:35

@cricketmum84 glad you're feeling a little better today, be sure to let the GP know about the weigh loss as it could be a symptom. I hope the tests are speedy and you get answers ASAP. I wouldn't hesitate to get yourself an emergency appointment or head to A&E if things get worse and the GP is slow also!

@BarryWhiteIsMyBrother I find the ethos of this thread is generally slow and steady which I like. I struggle to loose more than a couple of lbs a week unless I eat very low calorie which I don't find sustainable for more than a few days/ a week at most

GetTheStartyParted · 18/01/2021 18:01

@cricketmum84 Thanks. I'm glad you're feeling a little better.

@JessJonesJumps It is hard work isn't it! I've just asked my tutor for an extension on my assignment, I just don't seem to have enough hours in the day for work, studying and helping DS with his school work.

@BarryWhiteIsMyBrother @Deepintheforest is right, it doesn't matter if you lose more or less, it is more about support and encouragement here Smile My weightloss is very unpredictable, so I just keep going

TheStirrer · 18/01/2021 19:14

@cricketmum84 - glad you are feeling a bit better. How did doctors go? Flowers

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 19/01/2021 08:06

Whoop whoop, 12st 13lb this morning! 4 more lbs and I'll have lost 25% of my body weight.

Howmanysleepsnow · 19/01/2021 08:43

@cricketmum84 hope you continue to improve Flowers
I’m 9st10lb this morning. 4lb and 1/2” of my waist to go and I’m back to where I was in November. It was my TOTM so I’m wondering if that’s why my loss stalled the last 7 days.

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 20/01/2021 07:31

Weekly weigh I :

Start of this weight loss journey was 233lb, BMI 35.4

30/12/2020 - 186lb, BMI 28.3
06/01/2021 - 185lb, BMI 28.1
13/01/2021 - 183lb, BMI 27.8
20/01/2021 - 180lb, BMI 27.4

Loss this week - 3 lb
Loss this month - 6 lb
Total loss since starting - 53 lb

Howmanysleepsnow · 21/01/2021 07:46

@HalfShrunkMoreToGo great loss again this week!
@JessJonesJumps I agree about homeschooling being so much more work this time around. It’s hard to make time for anything at the moment. Plus it keeps driving me to chocolate! I definitely need more willpower (or more independently motivated dc!)

Howmanysleepsnow · 21/01/2021 07:47

Forgot my weight: 9st 11.5 so 1.5lb gained. Must try harder.
