Morning all! Link to previous month is here:

The December thread - Lose 7lbs/3kg per month! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/4097783-The-December-thread-Lose-7lbs-3kg-per-month

All are welcome to join, there's a really good mix of diets and methods and everyone is really helpful and great at motivating each other. December was quiet but that's to be expected! I've gained a couple of pounds over the Christmas period so am starting at 16.4. Would love to be 15.10 by the end of January!

It will be a funny old month for me as I'm hopeful for my op date at some point in January so not really sure how I will go with weight loss but every pound I lose surely will make the operation easier so I'm gonna work really hard at it until I get the date through!

Have a lovely weekend!

@cricketmum84 many, many congratulations on reaching the 15's. You are amazing and should be so proud! I'm guessing the furloughing is a silver lining in a way - let's hope you can use the time to have your op and recover!

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 08/01/2021 14:58

Bloody astoundingly amazing you are @cricketmum84 !!

Deepintheforest · 08/01/2021 15:52

@cricketmum84 congrats that's such an achievement well done!!

Ecci · 08/01/2021 16:43

@cricketmum84 so thrilled for you reaching the 15s, you are inspirational.

TheStirrer · 08/01/2021 17:52

Well done @cricketmum84 - that’s fab! Hope that it rubs off on me as can’t seem to quite get into the 13’s and it’s driving me mad....

cricketmum84 · 08/01/2021 20:25

Aw shucks! Thanks guys 🥰🥰

TheStirrer · 09/01/2021 11:13

Well it’s weigh in day for me and managed to lose 2.25 lbs but getting into the 13’s has alluded me again as 14st 0.5.... hopefully next week if I behave myself!
I am still on 1650 cals so think I might need to reduce them in a few weeks but we will see!
I am aiming for 50lbs loss this year to get me In the healthy bmi range so thinking of it as 5% lost makes it sound somehow much better Smile

recklessgran · 09/01/2021 12:32

@TheStirrer that's a brilliant loss - I always picture my loss in terms of packs of butter as it makes me realise that even half a pound is still a lot of fat! KOKO and you'll be in the 14's next week for sure!
I'm going to M&S food today for some essential supplies that are going to be missing from my Tesco delivery later. I'm imagining that as it's a small one it might be safer than the big supermarket.
I haven't decided what to have for dinner tonight yet but it will be bacon and egg for lunch before I venture out. Hope everyone is O.K. and trying to make the best of the weekend.

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 09/01/2021 12:51

@TheStirrer I am very goal oriented so have lots of little goals and measurements and track it all in a spreadsheet. I started at 233lb and my ultimate goal is 141lb so nearly a 100lb to lose and it just seemed such a massively huge number it was overwhelming and felt impossible. By continuously having little targets it's made it all seem much more achievable.

A new month and a new year - the January lose 7lbs per month thread!
cricketmum84 · 09/01/2021 14:05

Happy Saturday everyone :)

Having a lazy day with trash magazines and a warm fluffy blanket. Still feeling a bit shit and struggling a lot with balance and strength in my legs. Feeling a bit worried to be honest as I don't know what's causing it, I'm very shaky and even struggling with the stairs. My lovely husband is having to rush about doing everything.

@HalfShrunkMoreToGo I am in AWE of your spreadsheet. I'm an excel geek lol

Great loss @TheStirrer well done!!

I'm having a high protein yoghurt and then planning on Bombay potatoes, salad and a flatbread tonight. Bit of a treat night :)

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Morning all. Today is my weigh day.
Last week 12 st 11.25 lbs
Today 12 st 7.25lbs
So that's a 4lb loss which I know is mainly water weight but I'm still pleased and it puts me in the right frame of mind for the coming week. I haven't yet worked out my meal plan for today but hope everybody has as good a day as they can.

cricketmum84 · 11/01/2021 10:34

Nice one @recklessgran 🥰 you always do so well when you have your head in it!

I'm down to 15.11 which means I've lost my 7lbs for the month already! Treating myself with veggie lasagne for tea ;)

Will be very busy with work this week handing over ready for furlough next week so apologies in advance if I'm not on every day x

Deepintheforest · 11/01/2021 11:24

Afternoon All, weigh in today and I'm 74kg so that's exactly 1kg lost trying to be extra good this week again as I have a party to go to on Saturday and there will be A LOT of wine consumed. I could behave myself at the party but I've cut out all drink unless I am socializing and the host is known for her particularly good wine collection Blush

EmmaGrundyForPM · 11/01/2021 11:44

Hello, please can I join? I need to lose 3 stone, so am hoping that I can achieve that by end of June.

I started last week and somehow have managed to put on 3lbs despite being very strict but I think maybe my original reading wasn't right.

I live with dh and ds both of whom are really skinny despite eating loads.

GetTheStartyParted · 11/01/2021 19:20

Hi everyone! Looks like things are going well for you all, especially you @cricketmum84

I'm back on keto from today. My 2 and a half months off led to a 15lbs gain Blush nevermind, I'm still 46lbs lighter than when I started!

Still having a few issues with depression tbh, may have to concede and ring the doctor. Hoping keto will help though, it definitely eases the effect my hormones have on me!

Almost half way through January already, koko Smile

TheStirrer · 11/01/2021 20:18

Wow @HalfShrunkMoreToGo - that is truly an epic spreadsheet Grin. I think I might need to create one as I have all my weekly weigh ins....
That’s for the support @recklessgran - glad you are back on board and keto going well!
@cricketmum84 - amazing you have managed your 7lbs already and sorry you and @GetTheStartyParted are struggling at the moment Flowers.
Can’t believe it is the 11th already - still got 4.75 lbs to lose to hit my 7lb thus month but will be so chuffed to just get under the stone mark at the moment....Smile

recklessgran · 11/01/2021 21:32

Hi @GetTheStartyParted I'm back too with my 13lb gain. Lovely to see you but also sorry that you've been feeling rubbish. I do think life is particularly difficult and challenging at the moment.
I'm also doing Keto again and aiming to go a bit lower this time. Hoping for 11st 4lbs. Well, that's my goal anyway.
Welcome to @EmmaGrundyForPM you are very welcome - plenty of us here to offer support. Do you have a plan or diet in mind?

Thank you
I am.low carbing and watching calories. I lost 3 stone doing that 4 years ago and kept it off until a year ago, when I had an injury which meant I couldn't exercise. The weight just slowly crept on again. I'm now over 50 so its getting harder!

crivit · 11/01/2021 23:06

Some good losses in here so far! I'll add in mine - a whole 100g 😁

Tbf, I feel heavy and a bit sluggish still so I'm even impressed with the 100g. Eating ok-ish, moving more again. Regular yoga, weights, cardio etc which helps the mood too. Went for a lovely mountain hike in the snow last weekend which definitely helped everything 😊🏔️🌨️

Howmanysleepsnow · 12/01/2021 09:42

Well, I’ve been keeping under 1200 cal the last 4 days. Managing 16:8 has been trickier but I did pull it off yesterday. Steps are still down (thanks lockdown) but with a dog walk yesterday and a walk to the supermarket I was at 9,700 so not as bad as it’s been. I’m still low and really struggling to motivate myself plus I’m stuck homeschooling 4dc (2 of which need constant support/ actual teaching and only one who works nearly independently) on top of bits of my own wfh. It doesn’t really give me much time to meal plan or exercise and I’m constantly wanting to comfort eat. I’m reducing carbs though (cooking 3 separate meals/ versions of a meal for me, for meat loving dh and ds’s and for veggie dd) so that may help. Weighed in at 10st this morning so lost my 4lb gain from earlier in the month, but still only back to my starting weight. I’m planning to do a 30minute cardio/ strength workout with dh tonight, plus 30 minutes on the bike so that may help my metabolism and even if it doesn’t it should stop me thinking about food for an hour!
Well done to everyone who’s losing, and thanks for being here to keep me accountable.

Howmanysleepsnow · 12/01/2021 09:52

Oh, and I’ve just read through the thread after a 4 day absence.
Well done @cricketmum84 and good to see you back @GetTheStartyParted -I remember we were always at a similar weight/ loss last time and you used to keep me motivated. And thanks to@Mimilondon39 for your suggestions, I think a long bubble bath and some comedy may well be just the thing for tonight... just need to get through today first, but it gives me something to look forward to!

Howmanysleepsnow · 12/01/2021 09:52

@ didn’t work! Thanks to @Mimilondon39

Mimilondon39 · 12/01/2021 11:31

Thanks howmanysleeps. I need to take my own advice I think - just spent most of the morning in tears - our boiler has just broken and trying to homeschool my six and eight year olds feels so hard - literally like climbing a mountain everyday. Think the hardest thing is not knowing when it’s going to end. Feel utterly work our and defeated today...

Mimilondon39 · 12/01/2021 11:31

#typo - worn out I mean!

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 12/01/2021 11:34

Anyone who wants the spreadsheet can download it

here drive.google.com/file/d/1mjaVTijjOxYjXruqLq14A113BVyhDBph/view?usp=sharing

Just put your height into the height section and it will calculate BMI and stuff for you.
