Evening all!

Welcome to the lose 7lbs per month thread for spooky October! My second favourite time of the year! Big coats, snuggly scarves, pumpkins, ghosties and toffee apples!

Link to previous thread is here The September 7lb per month challenge! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/4013012-the-september-7lb-per-month-challenge

I only lost 3lbs last month (booooooo) but have really upped the exercise in the last couple of days so hopeful I will start seeing proper losses again.

All are welcome, whatever programme or diet you are following. We just stick together and raise each other up which has worked so far and I've seen some amazing results from you lovely regulars :)

See you in the morning ready for first weigh in!!

Weigh in tomorrow so keep everything crossed for me. Also just realised I didn't do my stats on the 1st! Naughty me!

SW: 25st 2lbs
CW: 16st 11lbs
Loss for Sept - 3 sodding pounds
Loss so far - 8st 5lbs
Target for October is 16st 4lbs by the 31st.

Doubling up exercise tomorrow by running to my yoga studio and back 😂 yes I am crazy and no I don't expect my legs to work for the rest of the weekend!

Joining please!
I've been gaining and losing the same 5 lbs for about a year. I'm currently at the top of the 5 lbs and want to get rid of it once and for all! I know how to do it, it's just doing it that's the issue. Really hope to get motivated by this group and hopefully bring some motivation too🤗 Havent weighed myself for a little while so not 100% accurate:

SW 72 kg
Short term GW 67 kg
Ultimate GW 60 kg

Can I join you guys please?

I started at 233lb beginning of August, currently 206lb, my October goal is a little higher than 7lb because if I lose 9lb I'll get out of the obese category so that's what I'm going for.

I had bought myself a pancake pre-mix from the supermarket, it's low carb. I had been looking forward to trying it out, just for something new to try out. It was disgusting! The ingredients listed chickpea flour, I think I could taste that really strongly as an aftertaste! Yuck. The kids didn't like it either! Other people had raved about it online.

Morning all. Had a takeaway last night and I am so tempted to eat everything in sight today. I am determined not to. Our home life is busy at the moment and I don't think I will be able to do any exercise either, I'm hoping my husband may get home for me to go to a yoga class tomorrow but it'll be cutting it fine. My daughter has tennis this morning and then I think we'll have a quiet afternoon. Think I'll make fruit and yoghurt for breakfast in a minute, try to start the day well.

@NerrSnerr I usually find takeaways have high carb and high salt, both of which make me feel starving hungry within hours of eating and for the next day.

If you can focus on high protein, good fats and lots of water today the craving food/starving feeling will wane. If you have full fat yoghurt and berries that will make you feel better than a low fat yoghurt and high sugar fruits.

I'd like to join this challenge as well.

I've lost 20kgs so far on my weight loss journey. And a lot to go!

Start weight on 2 October- 95.4kg (was a slight gain this week so reduced my 20kgs loss so am determine to "earn" that back this week!)

Aim for end October- 92.4kgs

Am off for a run. Not sure how far yet - am doing 10k tomorrow so not too far now but enough that my legs know to keep on going Grin

Thanks @FatGirlShrinking. I went for Apple and banana as that's what we have in. Feeling better now and out for children's activities so distracted.

Will probably go for wholewheat pasta for lunch (and probably make double for tea as well) with some form of vegetable and a little bit of cheese. Boring I know but does the job for me.

Morning all,

I like that quote @NerrSnerr Its very true. I have almost talked myself out of going swimming each time this week but pushed myself to go. I feel glad once I have. Yoghurt and fruit sounds like a good start to get back on track.

I'm taking DS to the pool this morning. They have
finally started family sessions and I'm hoping it get him to use his arm a bit! Not sure how much swimming I will get to do.

@MirandaWest enjoy your run, hope its a bit brighter than here for you.

DH's birthday celebration looks set to be a 3 day affair due to the current restrictions, so I might be eating non-keto on Friday, Saturday and Sunday next week! I won't be pigging out, just enjoying the weekend.

For the first time in years, I had a very long lie in. DH has made me a cuppa and is about to cook my breakfast. I could get used to this Grin

Had my run - it was wet but wanted to check I could run in the wet as doing a timed event tomorrow and looks like it will rain then too Grin. Ended up running 45 min which was 6.8k Smile

And weighed myself when I got back and I was 67.65kg. Definitely a goos start to the day.

Now I have to mark exam questions....

@DownUdderer yuk that sounds grim. It’s like all those brownie recipes that tell you to use sweet potato or chickpeas or beans and there’s always loads of reviews from people saying it’s the most delicious thing ever but whenever I’ve made them, they have been foul. I think some people kid themselves that they enjoy these healthy replacements because no way do they taste better than the real thing. Saw a recipe for ‘cookie dough’ once that was dark choc chips, chickpeas and maple syrup all blended together. The thought of eating that made me heave.

Ages ago I did a pancake recipe that had eggs, mashed banana and almond flour, it was nice, not remarkably like a normal American pancake let's be honest but still enjoyable.

The almond flour saved it as the other version is just banana and egg and no matter how much you try to kid yourself otherwise, it tastes like a banana omelette and that's just odd.

Didn’t manage to weigh at the end of the month as was off visiting poorly dad so weighed today. Now down to 14st 5 so just squeaked the 7lbs in September.
Inspired by @cricketmum84 I am doing my first yoga class on Tuesday - I feel very nervous as have never done yoga and I am spectacularly unbendy Grin.
Fingers crossed we all gave a good month and avoid all the Halloween chocolate ......

Just checking in, I dropped off the last thread as my scales broke, finally picked up some new ones today so will weigh in tomorrow morning. Haven't been particularly good recently (far to much cake) weighing in twice a week is definitely what keeps me motivated

Hi everyone, I'd really like to join in! I've been lurking for a few months but I'm falling off the wagon and feel the need to be accountable.
Starting weight Jan 19: 15st 4 (got down to 14st 1 quickly but just stayed there)
Started again at the start of July 20 at 14st 3 and my current weight is 12st 9. Delighted with my progress so far but have lost the motivation a but.
Not sure of my goal exactly but would like to be firmly in the 11s at some point. Hoping for 5lb loss for October. I've been calorie counting but have got quite lazy about it and therefore eating a bit extra. I had been sticking to around 1260 (what mfp set for me) but I've upped it to 1350 as a more realistic aim. Coped well for a while but found it very restrictive at that level.
Fingers crossed and well done to you all on the losses do far, you've really inspired meSmileSmile

Lovely to see new joiners! Good luck everyone. I think I'm having a good day so far. It looked like I was down a pound this morning so that was nice. I have to be honest, I weigh everyday, and if it's a good number it really makes me happy. I will have to figure out my plan after reaching goal weight. Perhaps weighing once a week to begin with. I don't want to be obsessed but I don't want to ignore my weight either.

Hi all. I haven't been feeling it this weekend but weight still the same so can't complain. Now feeling motivated to get in the 10s and ditch the size 14s. Quiet day for us again. 3 year old didn't sleep well so need a lot of coffee.

Currently 10st 2lbs and would love to get to my usual 9st 7lbs. Its just creeping up and up.......

Started Sept at 11st7.

I'm 10st 13.5, it's just hovering under 11 so I will take that as a half pound loss last week.

I didn't really watch my weight, snacked when I felt like it, so I'm pleased I haven't gained. I knew my period was due so didn't want to be too restrictive as my blood sugar is really sensitive around then. Much happier eating often when I am due on.

This time round my weight loss strategy is meal planning and intuitive eating-being a bit more in tune with what I fancy.

I made a banging juice yesterday, it had half a clove of garlic in it and loads of citrus fruit. Citrus fruit seems to really help with pmt, I felt so happy afterwards.

I have entered all my weeks food ahead on my nutrition app and tweaked portions so am hitting nutrition targets. Need to tally it up more with what physical exercise I am doing but still working on some kind of routine.

Will also take that feroglobin stuff as its my period week. Fingers crossed for 1-2 lb loss this week. I will be super happy with that!
