Evening all!

Welcome to the lose 7lbs per month thread for spooky October! My second favourite time of the year! Big coats, snuggly scarves, pumpkins, ghosties and toffee apples!

Link to previous thread is here The September 7lb per month challenge! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/4013012-the-september-7lb-per-month-challenge

I only lost 3lbs last month (booooooo) but have really upped the exercise in the last couple of days so hopeful I will start seeing proper losses again.

All are welcome, whatever programme or diet you are following. We just stick together and raise each other up which has worked so far and I've seen some amazing results from you lovely regulars :)

See you in the morning ready for first weigh in!!

I'm writing October off too @cricketmum84 Oddly enough my scales have been fluctuating lots but I'm too scared to use the analogue ones upstairs as I think they'll probably show a weight I don't want to see Blush But if the digital ones don't settle down today, I'll use the other scales and take whatever they say as my starting Nov weight.

I need to get back to regularly posting, regular yoga and less snacking. It feels a million times more difficult in the dark and the cold.

DM is slowly improving but now miniJJJ and I have developed an odd earache bug which is making us dizzy, made mini JJJ cry with pain and has caused my face to swell up. I really hope November is better.

@MirandaWest I can only envy you! I lost 3lb at the beginning of the month but gained it all back. I am hoping for a MUCH better November. Even 2lb would make a difference! I’m motivating myself by saving £10 for every kilogram I lose.
@cricketmum84 I can’t seem to find the new thread! Would you mind linking it?

My total loss for October has been 4.5kg which after Septembers 0.5kg loss is good.

And if I lost 4.5kg next month then I’d be almost at my target weight - maybe that will motivate me in the next few weeks...

Happy Halloween! Hope you all are doing well! @DownUdderer What a beautiful saying! I also gained surprise surprise 3lb so I've had no progress at all this moth but I'm hoping November will be a fresh start for me! Grin I am currently on Day 5 on Chloe Ting's 2 week shred ( rest day yay! ) I'm thinking about trying interrmittent fasting as I think WW is just not for me. As I become really depressed when I go over my points. I think interrmittent fasting might be good for me so I can just eat hopefully healthy throughout 1-6pm

Does anyone have any experience/ or currently doing interrmittent fasting?
Also give us an update when the new thread comes out !

Well this month has been a complete write off for me. I have put on 2 lbs which is not really surprising given what I have eaten. I have fallen off low carb wagon and done very little exercise. It has been a really stressful month with poorly dad who is currently in the hospice. He’s desperate to come home but we aren’t sure if we can provide the care he needs and are worrying about Covid and lockdown if he needs to go back in. I think being realistic if I maintain in Nov I that would be a success for me.
Well done to all of those that have lost and for the rest of us let’s hope Nov is better.

@cricketmum84, what a shocker! Don't let it knock the wind out of your sails. You've been on a downward trend all year. Let November come as a fresh new month. In your shoes I'd start a new weigh in app with November as my start weight and enjoy seeing a downward trend on the graph. Focus on going down from now. Bloody scales!! Mine are the sort where there's a dial that goes round, if I lean forward I can lose two pounds! If I adjust the dial it also effects my weight. Some days last month I adjusted it daily! Pure lunacy on my part. If I get on three times each time is a different weight! I try now to get on once and go with that weigh in. The scales should be a tool we use to help guide us, but I know personally that I get very focused on them and wish I didn't sometimes.

Chin up!

I’m 3lb down since Monday but won’t get too cocky because my weekly Saturday takeaway could screw me right up.

I am in an absolute flump and totally writing October off as a waste of time.

Replaced the batteries in the scales and was still getting totally random weights fluctuating by up to a stone in 3 weigh ins in a row so i went and bought new scales.... half a bloody stone heavier on the new ones so I have no idea what I have lost this month.

Well done to everyone who has had a good month. I'll get the November thread up and running shortly!

Happy Friday everyone. looking at a 5lb loss this month in just under 3 weeks since I restarted with things. Still finding motivation and not eating through boredom/rewards a challenge.
I will post my end of month/ new month stats over the weekend. Have a good one Halloween Wink

Well done, FatGirlShrinking, thats a great loss. I am STS this month at 11st 7lb so total weight loss this month 4lb. Cant complain too much as am in perimenopause so had two cycles this month so between being bloated waiting for them to start and being bloated cos they were here, its not such a bad loss. Think at this stage of the game a 7lb loss a month for me is too hopeful so will aim for 3 or 4lbs a month going forward.
See you all next month Wink

So hey, my name is @FatGirlShrinking and I am now officially NOT OBESE! Damn straight I'm just plain old overweight.

So that's my first really big goal achieved. I have lost a total of 36lb and 15% of my starting Bodyweight. My next big big goal is to reach a healthy weight which is 33lb more to lose.

Smaller goals in the meantime are

  • finish C25K
  • lose 20% of my Bodyweight
  • lose 25% of my Bodyweight

Hi all. I have been very quiet, been maintaining my weight but not losing too much. Hoping to have a half decent month in November though. Have a yoga class today and then taking my daughter ice skating so at least I'll be fairly active!

I'll post my end of the month stats tomorrow and will be back being extra good on Sunday for November.

I'm 1lb from being at my lowest weight for the whole year. November will be when I reach new lows!

I did 12km on my walk today, it was all flat though.

Did my final October weigh in.

Lost 1kg to bring my loss to 3kgs for the month. So pleased!

Start of October- 95.4kgs
End of October- 92.4kgs

This is a big monthly loss for me - helped by a gain just before I started the month! Easy on easy off. However super pleased. Now to think of November's goal.

Hope everyone else's final weigh ins go well.

I think I hadn’t realised quite what I looked like in the early summer as I kept avoiding all mirrors. Just need to keep on at it now...

@MirandaWest the photos show such a difference! That's a nice dress as well! You must be pleased with how you're looking now.

I had a late breakfast again because I just forgot to pick up my yogurt! It does make me laugh though, I just start getting hungry at 10:00am and think to myself"why am I so hungry?" Then the penny drops and I realize it's because I've not had breakfast yet, with intermittent fasting your body really does adjust to the new normal.

The other day I was thinking that even my feet look slimmer! Isn't funny how our bodies change with weightloss.

@MirandaWest you look fantastic- such a difference!
I am firmly on the naughty step Blush yesterday started well with a 7km run then visited my sister in her garden where I ate crisps, pizza and chocolate cake washed down with lots of wine! Slept badly due to loads of aches from my run and copious amounts of alcohol. I’ve been up since 3am and felt so hungry and tired all day. Ate crisps earlier and just polished off some chip butties from the local chip shop. Soooo bad but I’m going to have a glass of water and go to bed now in hopes of a good sleep and a fresh start again tomorrow. Won’t weigh for a few days I think. I’m annoyed with myself but we had such a laugh and I won’t let it ruin all my hard work.

DD showed me a photo she took in June/July around when I started dieting. I tried on the same dress earlier on and got her to take another photo - I have now realised how my body has changed since then Smile

Another good day here.
Struggling with the water intake though. I’m aiming for 3l but over 2 seems like a big effort.

Would love to even get 1lb down in October then really go for it in November. 7lbs seems like a massive ask though!

Ooh, veg box looks yummy! I need to get one set up. My sister gave me a month of riverford boxes for my birthday which I loved so I need to renew the subscription.

@FatGirlShrinking that’s an amazing loss for this month. Well done.
I will probs aim to stay the same for this month. Have been having a bit of a break from dieting but it’s hard even to keep to maintenance calories. I don’t know how I was able to be so consistent at the beginning. Now I seem to have a blowout and then spend the rest of the week making up for it. Maybe that’s what real life it like though. Certainly before I put on weight, I used to have days where I ate loads and then more restrictive days. As long as I keep a careful eye on it though and don’t let my weight creep up again.
