I have 10-14lbs to lose to start feeling comfortable in myself again. I'm 5' 6.

9 stone is my fighting weight but I'm at least 10 stone now, and I know it's going to continue creeping up.

I look at threads already going on here but when lots of people are already on I feel like I get lost on it Grin

So I'm aiming to start Monday, not sure what plan I'll be following yet, but will have to eat less and exercise more as I've noticed my thighs are rubbing a little and got some fat on my back etc.

Hi everyone, yesterday wasn’t great as I was hungover and had roast potatoes etc to recover. Haven’t eaten yet today, will try to have one big meal of chicken Caesar salad around 5 pm, that’s the plan. Feel like a big blob. We go to Cornwall in 10 days, hope I can do my wetsuit up by then!

JustAm0m · 07/07/2020 12:24

I'm also trying to lose weight, aiming to be 8 stone. Considering the OMAD diet from today. i'm currently 12 stone.. wish me luck

Swearwolf · 07/07/2020 13:09

I've been mostly doing ok in the day, it's evening that's the problem. Last night I had two glasses of wine, I shouldn't even be drinking in the week! It's all gone now so nothing tonight. I need to work on portion sizes too as I'm sure I'm eating too much dinner.

What always helps me is cutting down on cheese and butter. So I'm not eating toast (my primary means of eating as much butter as possible) and I've made sure to buy dinner foods that don't involve cheese - so no pasta or chilli, lots of noodles and fish.

I've dressed in gym kit today to try and force myself to go for a run later. I probably won't!

kirstinm · 07/07/2020 13:20

Back from my walk - 12,200 steps so feeling good with that. Soup and toast with a scraping of philadelphia and an apple for lunch. Been logging on my fitness pal and it says I've got 430 calories left - I was planning on a small portion of spaghetti and tomato sauce for dinner with some chopped veg through it so think that should be ok?

PurplePansy05 · 07/07/2020 13:26

Could anyone throw some low-calorie dinner ideas at me please? Preferably something with a Mediterranean vibe, but not necessarily so. I'm so stuck, need 3 more dinner ideas!

PurplePansy05 · 07/07/2020 13:28

Kirstinm - yes, you'll be fine. Stay away from too much cheese & enjoy 😊 PS - I'm on MFP too 😊

Swearwolf · 07/07/2020 13:34

@PurplePansy05 I've got salmon for tonight, I was going to bake it in a little foil pouch with some asparagus and lemon. I don't normally eat much fish but I made this a couple of weeks ago and it was really good!

kirstinm · 07/07/2020 13:38

@PurplePansy05 thank you! I had a slice of mozzarella on my dinner last night which was 75 calories and honestly I was talking about that slice of cheese on our walk this morning - how worth it it was! Made what was a bit of a bland dinner so much nicer so I will do that again!

I actually just realised that I put the portion size for my cereal in wrong - MFP had 100g as default and I just went with that - think I was more like 50g for a biggish bowl? That means I have around 600 calories left to have today hmmm.

Hello, can I join too?
10.7 this morning and would feel great at 9.7.
I have been OK at exercising during lockdown but diet has gone to pot!
Going to increase my steps, do 16.8 properly, increase water intake and sensible meals, no snacks.
Unfortunately, staycation is next week Confused but hopefully this will keep me accountable.

PurplePansy05 · 07/07/2020 14:18

@Swearwolf Thanks! Love salmon and asparagus. The difficulty is I put down smoked salmon and eggs for 2 breakfasts next week already, and also we will have cod and salad with a bit of garlic butter one evening. I am not a fish person, but desperate to incorporate it in our menu cause it's healthy and TTC-friendly (we are TTC after multiple miscarriages).

So anyway, I need something non-fishy if anyone has any recommendations, please 😊 TIA!

Egghead68 · 07/07/2020 14:22

Had about 1500 calories already today. Think I need to ease myself into this with a week of not overeating before I start undereating.

Swearwolf · 07/07/2020 17:31

I'm gradually weaning myself off snacking - today I didn't snack until 4pm! Just heading into the danger zone, cooking pizzas with the children (during the week we tend to eat separately because Dh comes back from work too late to eat together) and really must resist the temptation to eat some!!!

I also had a really bad day work-wise and am resisting the temptation to pour myself a big gin.

I can't aim for an August birthday but mine is in two weeks and I've taken the day off to go shopping... if I can be two or three pounds down by then and heading in the right direction I can probably buy myself a size ten something.

notnearlythereyet · 07/07/2020 19:21

Well done Swearwolf kirstinm and others! I love prawns and they are quite healthy too, had some with linguini and mussels today. Managed OMAD today, walked 16000 steps and naughtily stood on scales, weighed in at 10st4, a pound lighter! Really happy and will try to keep going with lots of walking and OMAD.
Good luck for tomorrow everyone!

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 07/07/2020 20:14

PurplePansy how about a cajun or Mediterranean chicken traybake... lots of nice roasted veg and herbs, or chicken and red pepper skewers with salad and new potatoes, or a veg curry.

PurplePansy05 · 07/07/2020 21:06

Taffy I am going for a Medi tray bake, cheers!

OooErrThor · 07/07/2020 23:12

Well I found the scales and weighed myself this morning 79kg which is about 12st 4lbs, eek my aim is to be just under 11st so way more than I thought to lose. I thought it was about half a stone to lose.

Bizarrely my clothes all still fit ok, maybe my bones have got heavier Wink

I'm determined, no alcohol today, food intake now too bad but exercise went out of the window as work went mental and I ran out of time. Tomorrow is a new day!

How often do you think I should weigh myself, daily, weekly, monthly?

Swearwolf · 08/07/2020 06:49

@OooErrThor I'm going with the very unscientific method of weighing myself whenever I feel like I might be thinner!

I weighed this morning - 2lb down! I'm taking it with a huge heap of salt as I'm in the last day of my period and fluctuate by several pounds across the month. It's spurred me on though - I've had a good couple of days where I haven't eaten too badly, and am I encouraged to carry on!

Skyliner001 · 08/07/2020 07:16

Got on the exercise bike yesterday, and that is the achievement I'm afraid. I managed to do about 15 minutes, which was my initial target, starting small!! Today I am hoping to do a little bit more… It felt good to give it a go, and I think it might be something I can get into.

Swearwolf · 08/07/2020 07:27

@Skyliner001 that's great! I think sometimes once you've taken that first step it really helps your mindset.

Skyliner001 · 08/07/2020 07:28

Completely agree! I try not to set too massive targets!

OooErrThor · 08/07/2020 07:33

@Swearwolf I'm going with that idea!

Today's plan is only eating 2 meals, no snacks, 15,000 steps and no alcohol. If I feel thinner I'll weigh myself, if not, I won't Wink

kirstinm · 08/07/2020 09:10

Have a good day everyone, thanks for the support!

Felt good with what I achieved yesterday but does anyone else wake up and think 'oh god, I have to do it all again today?!'

Special K and actimel consumed and getting ready for our walk - going for the same as yesterday so should be around 12,000 steps. We walk to a nice country park and are going to take a little flask of coffee today - my mum found this very amusing when I told her this plan last night! Apparently it's an 'old people' thing to do - thanks mum!

TheNewLook · 08/07/2020 09:24

Weigh-in day for me. One measly pound! A whole week of dieting and exercising hard and I’ve lost one pathetic pound. 😤

I know, I know, I’m due my period over the next few days so it’s probably that but, gosh, it’s de-motivating.

Swearwolf · 08/07/2020 09:45

@TheNewLook a pound in a week is great! It's going in the right direction and is a sensible speed to lose it sustainably. Keep going!
