Anyone want to join to lose up to a stone?

I have 10-14lbs to lose to start feeling comfortable in myself again. I'm 5' 6.

9 stone is my fighting weight but I'm at least 10 stone now, and I know it's going to continue creeping up.

I look at threads already going on here but when lots of people are already on I feel like I get lost on it Grin

So I'm aiming to start Monday, not sure what plan I'll be following yet, but will have to eat less and exercise more as I've noticed my thighs are rubbing a little and got some fat on my back etc.

Seems like everyone is doing well! I weighed in at 10 stone 3 this morning which is 13lb down from where I started in July. Not entirely sure the last few lb have been lost in the best way, I've been in an auto immune flare and also been working a lot so my appetite has not been great. But I still think I've done well, for the most part. Still loving my apple watch as well.

Egghead68 · 02/09/2020 18:20

Great loss @kirstinm but sorry to hear about the flare.

I seem to have mysteriously gained 2.5kg in a few days. Maybe it will disappear Suddenly again.

Hi everyone! Well done on all the losses, brilliant work!

I totally dropped off the thread, I fell off the wagon big time. Someone left at work that means my workload has increased dramatically, and I'm so stressed I am stress eating and drinking gin every day. I haven't been able to make time for exercise or muster up the energy. I've just been trying to cling on! I haven't weighed myself but I don't feel good.

My kids are back to school today and I am re-enthused to get back on it. Small pot of overnight oats for breakfast, no more coffee for the day and I've just made a lemon green tea. No snacks, no toast, definitely no butter, and yoga at lunchtime. I also will be doing the morning school run three days a week and plan to factor in an extra 40 minutes on those days for a quick run after drop off. We shall see how long that lasts...

Swearwolf · 03/09/2020 09:22

Oh! And I've done so well avoiding the scales out of fear, I plan to continue not to weigh. So any updates I make will be based on how I feel and how I think I've eaten, and pure guesswork. I shall weigh myself in a couple of months time!

TheNewLook · 05/09/2020 18:47

Arrrhgghhhhh!! Help!! I cannot get back on the wagon! I was doing so well. 18lb since mid-June, felt amazing, don’t know where the willpower cane from but I can’t seem to get it back. I’m exercising in the morning and not eating until midday (as before) but just feel hungrier than I did in the summer and give in to temptation far easier.

I knew this would happen after we had a little holiday. Five days off the diet and I feel as though there’s a little gremlin in my shoulder saying “it over, that’s your lot, you did well but no more weight loss for you“ and I’m listening to the stupid gremlin with one half of my head while the other half is screaming at me not to quit. I feel out of control when I was feeling more in control than ever in my life.

I’m sure it’s a September thing. Kids are back at school, summer’s over, days are colder.

How do you carry on? How do I not let it be a summer fling but a commitment to another 7lb - which is all I need to get to my 25lb goal.

Just had two Freddos and a small bag of Haribo!!!!!!!!!!!!

Egghead68 · 05/09/2020 20:28

I’m another one who’s been off the wagon all week. Once you lose the habit it’s really hard to get back on.

I’m planning a fresh start on Monday.

pigear · 13/09/2020 22:08

Me too! I think its the season change. Ive been eating more and haven't been doing my yoga.

Tomorrow is a new day and a new week and i plan to get back on it.
@TheNewLook, can you draw a line under it and plan to start afresh? Maybe come up with a few satisfying but lower calorie/healthier snack alternatives so that you can still curb cravings. Or plan a few treats in but reduce somewhere else?

TheNewLook · 14/09/2020 10:07

Hi pigear I’m still hanging onto the wagon just about. I haven’t lost anything for several weeks now. Seem to be maintaining, although I haven’t reached my goal yet. I’m feeling ok, definitely not giving up. Still exercising.

Here’s something I’ve noticed. Since the children have gone back to school I’m up and about much earlier than in the summer. I think this gives me more hours in the day to snack and I find I’m hungry after the school runs in a way I wasn’t in August. For me the weight loss has always been about fasting until the afternoon. If I eat in the morning the day is usually a washout!

Egghead68 · 14/09/2020 14:05

I’m still off the wagon and planning to get back on in October (difficult month for me).

pigear · 21/09/2020 16:36

@TheNewLook. Sometimes i think our bodies need a little time to get used to our new weight before we can start going down again. Also as you say, you've got a bit of a change to get used to and work out how to manage. Hopefully if you can keep going your body will settle down again and you will manage to fast. I definitely find it harder some days when i am up earlier. I drink quite a lot of black coffee. And sometimes i do decide to have a day where i eat earlier.

@Egghead68, I'm sorry to hear its been a difficult month, i really hope things improve for you. Will still be here in October to hear how you are doing.

I had a few days of eating more but am settling back to eating less. Ive lost another pound so down to 10 stone 5.4. I have not been this low for a few years. There's still more to lose but i am feeling much better.

This afternoon i have tried on all my old jeans and trousers that were too tight and a few that i bought that i had bought ages ago in sales as i loved them but needed to lose weight to fit in. They all fit! I am so excited to wear them all. For the last few years ive been living in a few pairs of jeans i bought in the Gap outlet when i didnt fit into any of my jeans and i never felt good in them. Am really happy!!

TheNewLook · 21/09/2020 16:47

pigear I know that feeling! There’s nothing better than fitting into clothes you haven’t worn for years. It’s more fun than shopping for new ones, isn’t it?

Egghead68 · 21/09/2020 18:16

Thanks @pigear! So pleased about your clothes!!

Swearwolf · 21/09/2020 22:45

@pigear that's fantastic!!!

@TheNewLook I have the same problem. I can usually manage to keep my fast until after the school run, could you do that? Or if you feel bad just sitting there with a coffee while the kids are eating, could you have something very small before you go and the rest when you get back?

I've been re-enthused for a couple of weeks now, weighed myself at last and am back down to 10.2 from whatever I'd gone up to. Started the thread 10.4 so bad overall, but there have been lots of ups and downs. It's going the right way at last which I am pleased about.

Swearwolf · 23/09/2020 12:24

How is everyone doing?

TheNewLook · 23/09/2020 14:02

swearwolf it’s great when you feel enthused again, isn’t it? I always feel it’s the only way lasting weight loss really happens, when you really want it more than you want the cake/wine/whatever. You can’t force that feeling, it happens when you’re ready.

I log my weight on a Wednesday (weight more regularly than that) and had to laugh this morning. Over the past four weeks I’ve gained and lost the same pound! I had a cold last week and you can’t diet when you’re ill, just have to eat what you fancy. Back on it this week for sure 🤞🏼

Swearwolf · 23/09/2020 21:51

Oh nooooooo @TheNewLook that's the story of my life! As long as you play the long game and keep at it, it should eventually go down overall!

I am indeed enthused, it's been a while so I'm feeling excited. If I can just keep it up for a couple of months...

pigear · 09/10/2020 08:21

How's everyone doing?

I lost another 2 pounds but then there was my daughter's birthday and some other extra eating and i put the 2 pounds back on. I've had a few more careful days and have lost just over a pound, so am 10 stone 4.

I think as the weather gets colder and there is less sun, i am going to find it harder. My mood and motivation tend to dip significantly. They aren't the best anyway!!!

Hope everyone is ok

kirstinm · 13/10/2020 09:24

Hello everyone, haven't checked in for a while. I'm now down to 9 stone 11 (ish - had a lot to eat last few days so might be up a bit on that now) first time i've been under ten stone in years. Hope you are all doing well.

pigear · 20/10/2020 20:23

@kirstinm, that's brilliant! How do you feel? Are you happy with your weigjt now or do you plan to lose more?

Since my last post, i lost a tiny bit more then put on a couple of pounds due to having a weekend off and eating loads. I have been back to more restrained eating since and am down to 10 stone 3.2. Its been slow but ive been doing hardly any exercise. Just cant raise motivation at tjw times when i can actually fit it in. Am walking less as well as dog is having to rest her poorly leg.

I REALLY want to be below 10 stone before Christmas.

pigear · 12/12/2020 20:44

I know noone has come back but i just wanted to post up that despite a really horrible last 2 months, i hit 9 stone 13.4 today. I made it into the 9 stone bracket before Christmas! Just need to make sure i don't undo it all over Christmas.
