Anyone want to join to lose up to a stone?

I have 10-14lbs to lose to start feeling comfortable in myself again. I'm 5' 6.

9 stone is my fighting weight but I'm at least 10 stone now, and I know it's going to continue creeping up.

I look at threads already going on here but when lots of people are already on I feel like I get lost on it Grin

So I'm aiming to start Monday, not sure what plan I'll be following yet, but will have to eat less and exercise more as I've noticed my thighs are rubbing a little and got some fat on my back etc.

@TheBitchOfTheVicar welcome! Glad you're joining us Smile

I'm planning on enjoying my food today (knowing I'll probably cry on the scales tomorrow!)

Hi all - I'm revamping my attitude towards food too. I don't have scales and don't think I'll have a healthy attitude towards them if I buy some, so I'm measuring instead.

I just wanted to chip in about the pre or post weekend weigh in debate. I've ended up measuring every five days - more by accident than anything else - but it's working really well as it feels a bit more like just keeping track naturally rather than picking a day then planning food around it. Not sure if that makes sense!

Skyliner001 · 05/07/2020 09:44

That's true!! :)

Swearwolf · 05/07/2020 10:12

@flipperdoda I'm trying to measure too! I'm weighing as well though. I just find my weight fluctuates so much, and if it goes up at all I end up giving up a bit and eating more. I need to keep my motivation up!

Debjz · 05/07/2020 11:23

I’d like to join to please. Starting today. Want/hope/will lose a stone for my birthday in August. 11 ish want to be 9.13 just to be able to ‘I’m 9 something’ will post weight/weigh in tomorrow.

BroodyBridget · 05/07/2020 11:35

@Debjz when is your birthday? It's mine in August too, that's a good goal actually Smile

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 05/07/2020 12:33

Thanks @BroodyBridget Smile

I've just been for a run. I'm a real yo-yoer. Currently was doing quite well; lost it in June and went for one run. Training for the London Marathon should be underway but after training pretty much all the way, have lost motivation a bit and don't expect it will run this year at all, so feeling in a bit of a slump.

Despite doing a LOT of running, I am fairly hefty for my height, as I love food.

As well as losing some weight, a LOT of 'princessing' is needed, as I feel fairly shit too much of the time. I know that a lot of this stems from a phone/SM addiction which is affecting my sleep and wasting way too much of my time. Promoted by this thread, I ruminated on this while running, and deleted MN, FB and Reddit apps from my phone. Podcasts, audiobooks, radio iPlayer all the way from now on. I feel lighter already!

Off to a BBQ now - fired up for healthy choices all the way!

Have a good afternoon, everyone!

molifly14 · 05/07/2020 12:36

Me! I'm currently 9stone 3 and started at 9 stone 9. Lost 6lb in two weeks and got another 6 to go so ideally 8 stone 11! Anymore is a bonus but I want the magi can 8!

I'm doing 16:8 and restricted to 1000 calories a day

BroodyBridget · 05/07/2020 16:53

@TheBitchOfTheVicar it's so funny you say this! I was looking in the mirror earlier and feeling a bit urgh! Decided that when I get into a good frame of mind re food and exercise I really need some 'princessing' time. My skin looks tired and dull, and I could generally just do with some TLC.

@molifly14 tempted to go back to 16:8 myself too! Don't think I could manage on 1000 cals though, will have to try and work out what I should be having.

@BroodyBridget Hi August 19th, when’s yours?

notnearlythereyet · 05/07/2020 18:24

I’d like to join! Lost some weight recently and currently at about 10st 4 (5ft5), losing a stone from here on is my first goal but ideally just under 9st would be perfect.
Weighing in tomorrow. Planning to get back to low carbing and 20:4 or 19:5, see how I go.

BroodyBridget · 05/07/2020 18:47

@Debjz the 10th! I should set a realistic goal for then I think...

Those of us who are in - would it be helpful if I put a list of us all together, with our currently weights, and update it weekly so we can see at a glance how we're all doing? Smile

OP posts:
Swearwolf · 05/07/2020 19:11

That would be good! I already weighed myself this morning - 10st 4

HiHoHiHoBackToSchoolWeGo · 05/07/2020 19:12

Can I join in too please?? I'm 5'7" and at my biggest weight of 12 stone-I've technically got a stone and a half to lose but a stone to lose by middle of August ideally!

I normally do weightwatchers but since lockdown and no classes I've put on 10lbs (maybe closer to a stone...) 🙈 which is why it's now a stone and a half to lose!

I need some accountability desperately to help shift this weight!

Debjz · 05/07/2020 19:40

It’d help me. Great idea.

BroodyBridget · 05/07/2020 19:50

@HiHoHiHoBackToSchoolWeGo great username! And you're more than welcome to join us Smile it would be great to all hold each other accountable, offer some support, give tips for what's working for us etc

I'll pop a list of us all together now!

Thanks and thank god I found this thread-I've just eaten a mini magnum double caramel ice cream without even thinking about it 😩 I suppose I'm grateful it wasn't a full size one...

Hellohello2020 · 05/07/2020 19:54

Am I in time to join.

Hellohello2020 · 05/07/2020 20:10

Good evening everyone,
I am going to start by introducing myself, I am in my late 20s, gained weight after being on antipsychotic medication then having a baby. I came off medication in the beginning of 2019 but have not lost any weight and possibly put a little on. I just haven't really tried but feel bad about body image. Big belly pouch, back and face fat, not much on my limbs, my build is slender.... When I was younger I could eat anything and not gain weight. I've always been active with an active job but not always done specific excersizes. I am signed up to an online aerobics but am a little sporadic.

I have gone from a size 10-12 to a 14 Weight wise I am 66kg, and would like to be 55-60kg. Looking at converting a guess I want to lose a little more than a stone as a stone off would take me just under 60, but would be a start. So my aim is to go from 10stone 4 to 9 stone 4. I want my jeans to fit better.

Has anyone seen the NHS 12 week weight loss plan. I've downloaded week one, seems allright but I don't have a working printer. I have had myfitnesspall for a while. Does anyone else have it you can add me, 'bigbadorange' Wednesday's will be my weigh in day.

BroodyBridget · 05/07/2020 22:39

@Chocolatecake12 - lost 1.5lbs
@Mustardpot - 10 stone 4lbs
@Skyliner001 - 8 stone 12lbs
@overweightcat - 10 stone 4lbs
@Egghead68 - 70kgs
@Swearwolf - 10 stone 4lbs
@TheBitchOfTheVicar - 10 stone 8lbs
@Debjz - 11 stone
@molifly14 - 9 stone 3
@notnearlythereyet - 10 stone 4
@HiHoHiHoBackToSchoolWeGo - 12 stone
@Hellohello2020 - 10 stone 4
BroodyBridget - 10 stone ish (will weigh tomorrow)

Hope I've managed to get everyone on the list who's given me their starting weight! If I've missed you off please let me know so I can add you on Smile I'm hoping tomorrow will be better than I'm expecting! Will try and get weighed in the morning before work if possible (I don't have scales in the house and not sure if I'll be allowed to use Boots scales!) and aim for a good, healthy day.

Sending you all lots of motivation Grin

I’ve managed not to overeat two days running which is a minor win. Tesco delivery coming tomorrow though. I’m finding it hard being at home all day with a well-stocked fridge. Usually I’m at work and just buy the food I need on the day.

I’m trying to stick to 1400ish calories a day. I previously lost weight on the “lose 7lb a month” threads but am too embarrassed to go back to them.

My problem time is mornings. I’m fine with not eating at all after 5pm but tend to like 1000 calorie breakfasts Blush

FiveShelties · 05/07/2020 23:12

Can I join please? I keep starting a diet on Monday and giving up on Wednesday, or Tuesday.

I am 10st 5.4lbs and want to be 9st 12lbs so just over half a stone to go. My birthday is also August so just sightly over 7 weeks away. Would love to be at target for then.

Chocolatecake12 · 06/07/2020 07:01

Great list @BroodyBridget
So weigh day today......
11.4.6
So I’ve stayed the same over the past week.

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 06/07/2020 07:51

Morning all!

I was very sensible yesterday with food, did a bit of MNing but didn't spend hours on my phone before bed. Weighted myself: I am actually 10 stone 5.5 so I feel pleased/relieved that I am not more. Am in a very good mood!

I am at work today (school, with yr10s) so have packed a load of fruit and chilled water to eat. I like the routine of school and find it helps, so I'm looking forward to it. Also going for a run with a friend tonight.

Have a good day, everyone!
