Anyone want to join to lose up to a stone?

I have 10-14lbs to lose to start feeling comfortable in myself again. I'm 5' 6.

9 stone is my fighting weight but I'm at least 10 stone now, and I know it's going to continue creeping up.

I look at threads already going on here but when lots of people are already on I feel like I get lost on it Grin

So I'm aiming to start Monday, not sure what plan I'll be following yet, but will have to eat less and exercise more as I've noticed my thighs are rubbing a little and got some fat on my back etc.

Ooh, and I also have an August birthday

Hellohello2020 · 06/07/2020 16:27

Porrige and peanut butter for breakfast and a chicken bao for lunch with a flapjack. So much cake at work so one fruity flapjack not bad going. I drove into work today and could have walked, Tommow I'll walk

Skyliner001 · 06/07/2020 16:28

Just come back in from a 7.2 mile walk!! Hoping that is a good start to the week!!

I love flapjack 😊😊

My scales have shown the exact same weight the last three mornings!! So frustrating because - I know this is silly - I have digital scales and get a little kick out of seeing the numbers (even a quarter of a pound) gradually going down. It motivates me. I didn’t go over 1400 calories at the weekend and did a workout every day so I was expecting a little change today.

Nevertheless I am not giving up. I have just realised I am due my period later this week so it could be that. I’ve just finished a bag of pretzels off - sour cream and onion - irresistible - but I’ve logged it and will just be careful for the rest of the day.

Hello newbies! Welcome Smile will add you all onto the list and post the updated one!

Well I couldn't get weighed at Boots today, thinking I may have a look online and order some scales. Has anyone got some they'd recommend that won't break the bank?

@morefun another August birthday! Hopefully we'll all be feeling better by the time our birthdays roll around Smile

@Hellohello2020 and @Skyliner001 well done on the exercise/planning to exercise! Keep it up Grin

Thank you! This is Elmore walking than I would normally do, but I'm hoping to get on the exercise bike tomorrow. Starting small, maybe 15 mins and building up... 😳🙄🧐

morefun · 06/07/2020 17:30

TheNewLook I have always noticed weight staying the same or even rising before my periods. Then, if I continue watching it anyway, there is a nice loss afterwards.

notnearlythereyet · 06/07/2020 18:06

Morefun same here! I am not hopeful for a big loss as mine is due in a week and a bit. Today’s weigh in 10st5. Starting tomorrow in earnest.

kirstinm · 06/07/2020 18:58

Anyone else find that evening is the toughest time of the day for wanting to snack? I've had my dinner and a little biscuit afterwards but now I just feel like I'm trying to fill in time till bed without stuffing my face. Going to try an hour of uni work, then I'm going to start the 30 days of yoga with Adrienne.

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 06/07/2020 21:09

Hi all. Can I join too please. I am 5'4" and at 12st 12lbs I have a couple of stones to lose but for now I just want to get back to 12 stone. Would love to do do that by the time we go on our staycation at the end of August. Been doing WW but have plateaued so some new ideas will be goodSmile. Today has been ok had leftover Sunday lunch veggies and roast chicken for both meals and drink my 2litres of water. Planning frittata and salad for lunch tomorrow and maybe salmon for tea.

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 06/07/2020 21:14

I know what you mean @kirstinm - I am sitting here with a big glass of fizzy squash, which fills me up. But it means I keep waking up in the night for a wee 🙄

Haven't done too badly today - lots of fruit and veg, a 7k run with a friend, 1900 cals eaten and it will be about 2400 burned. A 500 cal deficit is manageable and sustainable for me. Feeling good!

BroodyBridget · 06/07/2020 22:18

Well breakfast and lunch were fine, but tonight has NOT been good!
Hoping to get some scales ordered so I can stop kidding myself 🙄 and look at tomorrow as a new day. Hoping to get an hour to myself in the afternoon so planning on doing some exercise.

My walk didn’t happen. Tomorrow...

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 07/07/2020 06:59

It is going to be a lovely day for a walk today, @CilantroChili Smile

I'm teaching online all day today, am up already working and have been for a while.

I shouldn't have done, but I hopped on the scales and am a lb lighter than yesterday! Though hopefully by the end of the week it'll be more.

How was everyone else's day yesterday? If anyone has any tips for eating more veg I'd love to hear them, or lovely veg-based recipes Smile

Chocolatecake12 · 07/07/2020 07:22

I’m terrible at weighing myself every day - and every day for the past week it’s said the same. It’s so dis-heartening!
I’m having smaller portions, lower carbs than before, have said no thanks to all the chocolates at work!!
I think I need to move more......I hate exercise!!!
What are your top dieting tips?

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 07/07/2020 07:23

TheBitchofavicar I cook up a pile of veg and pop in a tub in the fridge so that it is ready to reheat with any meal. I always try and fill half my plate with veg or salad before I think what I am eating. Also steam bags are handy for quick veg option. I really like just a whole tray of just roasted veg - peppers onions mushrooms tomatoes squash and courgettes etc Today I am making a veg frittata for a meal and then to snack on. You could swap pasta for courgetti / cauliflower or brocoli rice / spirallsed veg noodles...Stirfries and veg curry are good for trying different veg too x

georgie279 · 07/07/2020 07:49

Hi can I join??

5'7 & currently 12st. I'm the heaviest I've ever been Sad

I'd like to loose 2st to feel comfortable again, had baby a year ago by c section.

I'm using a calorie counter & home work outs as well as walking with the baby.. it's my tummy bulge that gets me down, recently noticed though, any pasta/bread or rice etc I get stomach aches and really bad bloating so trying to avoid carbs as much as I can! It's hard though!

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 07/07/2020 08:18

Hi @georgie279 Smile

Thanks @TaffyandTeenyTaffy I have some courgette, pepper and onion in the fridge which needs using, so I'm going to roast it this morning while I work Smile I'm not really a substitute kind of person - I'd rather eat a small portion of pasta than a pizza made with cauliflower base... Tho that's probably my problem!

georgie279 · 07/07/2020 08:35

Breakfast for me this morning - a banana, black coffee & 2 almonds Hmm

Baby had fruit toast & butter & banana... the fruit toast looked AMAZING! It I resisted Grin

PurplePansy05 · 07/07/2020 08:41

I started Couch to 5K yesterday - run 1 done. Also a good day of food, fruit, bran flakes and a bit of Greek yoghurt for breakfast, a wholemeal wrap with veg for lunch and Joe Wicks' chicken pie with green veg for dinner. Had an apple and a cereal bar for snacks and went for a walk in the eve. Today we're going shopping and I'll plan my meals wisely, less carbs, less snacks mission is on!

Walk & exercise at home this eve and another run of C25K tomorrow! 💪

BroodyBridget · 07/07/2020 08:48

Well done to everyone who started strong! I'll definitely be making the most of some exercise today - will check back in with that later.

Got some scales ordered last night so hopefully they'll come soon and then can start logging my actual weight instead of my estimate (got a feeling it will be higher than expected 😬).

Breakfast will be Special K (Aldi's own) with a chopped banana. Think for lunch I'll have a slice of seeded bread toasted with a couple of poached eggs.

PeopleAreAllWeveGot · 07/07/2020 08:58

Hello! May I please join you guys?

I'm 5'8" and weigh 11 stone at the moment. 10stone has been my goal since I was a teenager, but I have never ever got there!

Just lost a lot of weight over the year (started at 210lbs post baby number 3) and am in the home straight. But am finding motivation hard to come by for this last bit 😱

Holiday on 15th August so am trying to focus on that for this final push!

kirstinm · 07/07/2020 09:06

@TheBitchOfTheVicar I'm the same! Had to come upstairs at 9pm as I was feeling that if I stayed downstairs I wouldn't be able to stay strong, so I went up to bed with a cup of mint tea. Feeling glad that I resisted although I woke up in the night and I'd been dreaming about my breakfast!

Have had special K and a cup of tea and off out for my walk shortly. Going to try for over 10,000 steps again. Have a good morning everyone!
