I have 10-14lbs to lose to start feeling comfortable in myself again. I'm 5' 6.

9 stone is my fighting weight but I'm at least 10 stone now, and I know it's going to continue creeping up.

I look at threads already going on here but when lots of people are already on I feel like I get lost on it Grin

So I'm aiming to start Monday, not sure what plan I'll be following yet, but will have to eat less and exercise more as I've noticed my thighs are rubbing a little and got some fat on my back etc.

mustardpot what height are you? You are starting from the weight that I am now having lost a stone already. I’m 5’6 and, like you, 9st is the dream target (my weight throughout my 20s and most of my 30s). I’ll be very happy getting solidly under 10 tbh.

Mustardpot · 08/08/2020 14:32

TheNewLook I am 5ft 5” and a small boned apple. My current weight is almost my full pregnancy weight and I don’t fit in my size 14 clothes. I was 7 1/2 stone in my 20s, 8 stone in my 30s and really only started to go over 9 stone aged 48. I am now 53. Carbs are the main reason I gain weight and very big portions.

Weight is weird, we all carry it differently. I think my waist size is the big problem for me. I feel really uncomfortable at this size. Garden full of veg so no excuses.

I've not been doing so well with the healthy eating, so it's taken me a couple of weeks to lose 1.4 pounds. That was this morning and then I ate way too much today, although have done some exercise.

Back on it tomorrow, back to at least 16:8 and better choices within that.

Have been managing more yoga though which is good and planning to increase my walking, although the weather for the next week is supposed to be stormy!!

Egghead68 · 08/08/2020 22:38

I’ve definitely not been healthy eating either. I allow myself more crap when I’m dieting - I’d rather “spend” my limited calories on chocolate than porridge.
Plan for tomorrow:
Roasted veg/grains/beans 400 Dahl 200 aubergine curry 200 chutney 100 salad 50 2 chocolate eclairs 300 pineapple 30 100g ice cream 210

Hi everyone, watched the M Moseley 21 days to lose a stone, low carb, 800 calories. Interested to see how they do. His top tip was to clear rubbish from cupboards, if it’s there you will eat it!

Yesterday was pretty good for me, just ate chicken and salad, inc potatoes and beetroot so probably not low carb but it was delicious. I did have 2 packets of Pom bears crisps.

B Coffee
L Cold can of coke, piece of cold roast chicken
D Chicken and salad again

Egghead68 · 09/08/2020 14:23

There’s no way I could follow Michael Moseley’s plan.

Egghead68 · 10/08/2020 06:23

Weigh day. Back up to 69.1kg but I was 68.0kg yesterday so I’ll put the extra down to the weight of yesterday’s food inside me.

OooErrThor · 10/08/2020 12:00

Weight is a funny thing, I started my current weight loss last month and so far I'm 2lbs down, not a vast amount but better than nothing! However I feel much fitter and I have moved down a belt notch so that's a good thing.

I'll just keep going steady and slowly and agree I couldn't do the 800 MM calories.

Stradivari · 12/08/2020 00:40

Hello everyone! Just checking in after a slightly more relaxed week but with good levels of activity - lost half a kilo, so now at 63.4kg and 400g away from what i want to be my top weight limit for fluctuations so feeling goos! Am on holiday this week though (hence late check in) so...... yeh we’ll see what next week brings!!!!

Mreggsworth · 12/08/2020 06:34

I'm still lurking.

Finding it really hard to stay strict currently had a lot of events on recently that revolve around food and drink. Trying to cancel it out by being very careful at home but I don't think itll be enough so dont want to weigh until I can get a good streak of consecutive days calorie counting...on the bright side I dont think I'm gaining just hovering.

Humphriescushion · 12/08/2020 06:45

Can i join? Been trying to lose weight since lockdown ended and not succeeding - not sure why and fed up! Been on slimming world and have been sticking to it. Going to weigh on friday.
Last friday - 65 kgs ( that was after jiggling the scales because it said 68kgs and i was not having it!)
aiming initially for 3 kgs so clothes fit! And then see. Only have two weeks till holiday so aiming for 2 before that ( not sure how realistic). Is lovely to see the weight loss on this thread well done, you have given me a kick up my bum.

Swearwolf · 12/08/2020 08:57

Welcome @Humphriescushion !

I've been doing badly the last couple of weeks. I seem to have lost my motivation and I've just been eating and eating. I need some accountability! I think the hot weather isn't helping as I just feel queasy and am eating to try and calm that down.

Back to it today- overnight oats for breakfast and then NOTHING until lunch!

Egghead68 · 12/08/2020 09:32

I’m eating less than I was but only by enough to lose weight at a snail’s pace. I’m OK with that though. I need to lose 3-5kg more but I’m not in any massive hurry.

Mustardpot · 12/08/2020 11:04

Hi everyone and welcome Humphriescushion, I am weighing on Friday as that will be a full week for me (on my restart). Doing pretty good I think, eating lots of veg and staying away from the bread. It’s so hot I am just eating one proper meal at 6 pm, and I have a small piece of cold chicken at lunchtime.

Humphriescushion · 12/08/2020 20:13

Thanks for the welcome! Still sticking with slimming world for now although i dont seem to be having any luck with it at the moment. I may have a look at the michael mosely one but not sure i will cope with it.
I always seem to struggle more to lose weight in the summer, nothing fits at the moment and i am still in a lockdown slob mode. Hope everyone has had a good day.

Swearwolf · 13/08/2020 06:19

I think it's extra hard in the summer because clothes are flimsier so when things don't fit you feel it more! I'm also pretty bloated from all the water I've been drinking.

Egghead68 · 13/08/2020 06:25

68.2kg this morning. Nothing’s really shifting at the moment. Hope everyone has a good day.

Swearwolf · 13/08/2020 06:38

Same here @Egghead68 . I'm hoping when the schools go back next month I'll get a little more walking in - I'm carrying on working from home and plan to do the morning runs myself rather than use breakfast club. A small difference but hopefully enough to up my movement levels and help me postpone breakfast!

chorusline79 · 13/08/2020 07:23

Late to the party but can I join in please, need some motivation. Been avoiding the scales but discovered I have put on half a stone over the past 2 months.

I'm 5ft4 and 10 stone 3, I ideally want to be 9st 7 - will start with that as a goal!

Scared it's going to be very hard but first step is to stop chugging wine and eating crisps, that should help.

Hope everyone is doing well and the weight is coming off.

Humphriescushion · 13/08/2020 09:37

Hello @ chorus, is hard to start i know, i hated getting on the scales after a long lapse but was long needed. I am weighing tomorrow but not expecting much as weight does not seem to be coming off atm!

squashyhat · 13/08/2020 09:43

Can I join? I'm 5'3 and decided I needed to get real when I topped 11st on the scales last week. Ideally I want to lose a stone. The only way I have been able to do it in the past is by calorie counting so MFP is back on my phone. 3lbs down so far.

Humphriescushion · 13/08/2020 12:36

Oh well done @ squashy, 3 lb is a great start. Would love to scales move a bit in the right direction to motivate me, so lovely to hear when people lose. Gives me some hope.

Humphriescushion · 14/08/2020 05:37

Friday is my weigh day. 63.9 - not going to call this 64 Grin need to feel this is in the 63 range. A bit unclear how much of a loss since old scales playing up - said 67 in one spot in the bathroom last friday so i moved it and still did not like the answer so i chucked it! ( was very old)
So a bit better this week, going to estimate a kilo loss.

Is one bit of good news since quarantine rules has just meant my holiday cancelled ( again!)
Good luck any friday weighers.

Egghead68 · 14/08/2020 08:00

Well done @Humphriescushion and sorry about your holiday.

Mustardpot · 14/08/2020 10:57

Well done Humphriescushion! 10st 3 lbs (64.8kgs) this morning, lost 4 lbs. Very happy with that. An inch off my tummy, down to 36”, really want to get down to a 30” inch waist, that’s my real goal rather than a number on the weighing scales.

Would love to lose another 4 lbs next week. Going to start C25K again, I completed it in mid March and then stopped in lockdown. It might speed up my metabolism and spur me on to make good food choices.

B Coffee
L Mackerel fillet
D Roast cauliflower, spinach, Swiss chard
Probably have a couple of glasses of wine.

That’s the plan, need to stick to it.
