Following on from a certain posters 3 stone loss (well done!!) we are motivated and have dusted off our copies.

Sign up here, all are welcome. We can keep eachother company and help with motivation!

I have a huge amount of weight to shift, but my aim is 3 stone by the end of July (ready for next summer holiday)
I am hoping for 1 stone by Christmas, 1 stone by Easter and 1 stone by the Summer.

I am going to listen to the CD every night. I am also going to take a larger share of the dogwalking duties back from dh (I did this last time and the 45 minutes, 4 times a week really helped) I am also going to go swimming once a week.

I will only be weighing myself every two weeks (as per PMK's advice), and will report my loss here. (if I may)

MyEye · 09/10/2007 19:45

ok, I've lost 4 lbs in a fortnight. Feel quite positive.

I've not been listening to the cd recently (have started to obsess over the fact that some of his sentences are pure gobbledygook) and feel some of the energy slipping BUT I am definitely doing better on the smaller helpings/no seconds/snacking front.

So, onward and upward

woodenchair · 09/10/2007 20:44

Charlee, I bought the cd off ebay for £2. cos I'm tight

I can't believe how it's working. Yesterday the keeping your body active bit of the cd kicked in and I was still rushing around at 9pm, something unheard of for me!

bananaknickers · 09/10/2007 21:57

Right that's it I am back on track. Your right that will be loads of weight off, if I keep it up.
I find it hard at familt mealtimes. I am not always hungry when we all sit down to eat. Anyone else?

LilBloodRedWantsGore · 10/10/2007 08:35

Right - starting again today!

I am 10 stones & seven pounds.

All answers to dumb questions gratefully received:

1 - When you start counting backwards, are you meant to keep going all the way to zero?

2 - If so, how do you stop your mind from wandering?

3 - Please please please reassure me this will work.

mybabysinthegarden · 10/10/2007 11:15

Lilred your current weight is below my target weight! Boo-hoo-hoo

In answer to your questions:

  1. I don't think so, I only ever get down to about 200 because I keep forgetting and then have to start again from where I left off. I think it's more to focus your conscious mind on the task of counting so that all the drivel inspirational messages enter on a more subconscious level. Therefore,

  2. I don't think it matters if you drift off, as long as you start up again when you become aware that you've stopped.

  3. Anyone want to jump in with some success stories at this point to gee us up?

LilBloodRedWantsGore · 10/10/2007 12:47

Thanks MBIITG! I'll concentrate on my counting then because I am finding myself either listening intently to every word he says or my mind wanders.

gingernutlover · 11/10/2007 07:02

hi guys

i am kind of new to this, although have had the cd for ages and listensed a few times its never really made sense til now.

I wieghed myself this morning and have about 1` stone to lose and am planning to wait the 2 weeks before i wiegh in again

just a quick question though, is there anyone who has done this to get rid of the ast stone? I have lost 3 stone already on ww and cambridge and really want to reach that target wieght but reralise it might take a while.

Just wondered how quickly people had lost wieght?

Have a horrible feeling i may get on the scales in 2 weeks and nothing will have happened as its taken me 6 weeks to lose 1lb just eating relativey healthily

oh well, any advice gratefully recieved

LilBloodRedWantsGore · 11/10/2007 08:50

Welcome Gingernut amd well done on your loss so far!

woodenchair · 11/10/2007 09:08

MBIITG, do you really get to 200? I don't get past 285 normally before I drift off.

Do you think it matters

LilBloodRedWantsGore · 11/10/2007 14:27

I drifted off for the first time ever last night and I'd got back to about 30. I worry that I don't drift off normally, but I don't know - it's confusing.

gingernutlover · 12/10/2007 19:33

i have been reading the books the last couple of nights and feeling quite in control. I think if anything i am eating too little though, i find it so hard to tune into that hunger scale he talks about and find myself suddenly getting starving!

any tips?

and thankyou, i am really pleased wqith my loss so far but am committed to getting rid of the last bit, i'm 11 stone3 and a size 12-14 now, and for my height i "need" to be 10,4 according to all the bmi charts etc, so i am hoping that will make me a size 12 properly.

I worry that if i dont do this last bit i will creep back uop to 12 stone and that will be the downward slide fopr me

Moocha · 15/10/2007 20:08

Hi There,

I am on day 5 of the 90 day journal (I have got the journal and the book and cd).

This is a really good topic and I have read all your comments and they are very useful.

Have a few questions I'm wondering if you can help me with.

Does anyone else have difficulty in deciding if you are full - I have been stopping eating leaving it about 1/2 an hour than if still hungry am having something else to eat. Is this ok?

Also when listening to the cd is it necessary to count backwards all the way through or do you actually have to listen to what Paul is saying?

Also with the mirror exercise, I am feeling really stupid doing it and haven't really done it properly since the start does anyone else have problems - is it really essential for sucess?

Thanks for all your help and support.

iamasurvivor · 16/10/2007 02:23

hi all, i am on day 22, not sure if i have lost any weight yet cos i think me scales are knackered. i listen to cd before bed or in the morning before bed if i have been on nights.

havent tried the craving buster cd yet but have tried all others.

the emotional overeating one made me cry the first time because i could relate so much with what was being said, i have definitely medicated myself with food due to my shit childhood.

despite the fact that i am not sure if i have lost weight, i do feel like i have more energy and i feel calmer. that said i am not eating hardly any chocolate so may be the lack of sugar highs/lows are the reason.

the other day we went to blackpool and ordered fish/chips for tea, i ordered childs portion and couldnt even eat all that, very proud.

keep up the good work everyone and i will keep checking in now i have found some PMcK buddies

gingernutlover · 16/10/2007 07:53

hi there all i am now keeping a diary of what i eat and when i had cravings each day, yesterday it was sweets on display in the posat office, but i resisted becasue if i had some then dd would have had some too and i dont let her eat sweets, then it was while i was cooking dinner, relaised i had eaten several peices of raw carrot before i knew it, i know thats not so bad in terms of the food but it was still unconcious eating

then after tea, dh bought some biscuits in from kitchen with a cup of tea and i ate 3 - despite having big dinner

think i need to visualise that plate of sweets and biscuits with something i dont like - but am finding it hard to come up with a food i dont like

sounds like some of you guys have more than one CD, i just have the one which came with a book from amazon, where do the others come from?

bananaknickers · 16/10/2007 12:40

Imagine the sweets in your mouth mixed in with hair or something else disgusting.

Tottie32 · 16/10/2007 15:44

did you see the men on GMTV who had lost 9 stone following paul mckenna

bananaknickers · 16/10/2007 15:51

Wished I had seen it. Was that recently?

Tottie32 · 16/10/2007 15:57

i think it was recently

i didnt see it someone told me about it, it may be on the website?

iamasurvivor · 17/10/2007 02:02

i got my stuff from QVC it was journal and 5 CD's. weighed myself today and judging by my scales i have lost 6 pounds, woo hoo!!!

LilBloodRedWantsGore · 17/10/2007 08:31

Wel done!!!!! I am only one week in and haven't weighed myself yet, but actually feel like I've put weight on

Moocha · 17/10/2007 08:46

I'm on day 6 and also feel as though I have put weight on, but I am going to wait until the 14 day before I weigh!

mybabysinthegarden · 17/10/2007 13:43

Hi everyone, I've been off-message for a week as I went away and forgot to take my journal and CDs-- any advice to help me get back on track would be greatly appreciated!

Moocha, I'm having that problem too, telling when I'm full or not, I've been trying (when I remember!) to think about where I am on the hunger scale at all different times of day, not just before or during meals. Slowing down your eating is supposed to help too, but I've still got some work to do on this one.

iamasurvivor · 18/10/2007 02:41

i felt i had put weight on initially but then decided to keep going and trust in the system, and it is working.
