Following on from a certain posters 3 stone loss (well done!!) we are motivated and have dusted off our copies.

Sign up here, all are welcome. We can keep eachother company and help with motivation!

I have a huge amount of weight to shift, but my aim is 3 stone by the end of July (ready for next summer holiday)
I am hoping for 1 stone by Christmas, 1 stone by Easter and 1 stone by the Summer.

I am going to listen to the CD every night. I am also going to take a larger share of the dogwalking duties back from dh (I did this last time and the 45 minutes, 4 times a week really helped) I am also going to go swimming once a week.

I will only be weighing myself every two weeks (as per PMK's advice), and will report my loss here. (if I may)

Found cooking Sunday lunch hard thouh I managed to leave Yorkshire pudding and a roast potato on my plate. Today I ate half a granola bar from Cafe Nero with half a regular size latte plus roast beef without too many trimmings and red wine.

tilly67 · 28/01/2008 16:46

well i fell asleep listening to the cd last night and today

-i made porridge and only managed to eat a few spoons

-ordered baked potato and tuna in canteen ony managed to eat the tuna

-ive just heatd up some soup and now i dont fancy it at all

VERY STRANGE!

thisisRialifebaby · 28/01/2008 18:22

ha tilly, last night DH and I both listened to the CD before we ate, and by the time tea was ready neither of us were hungry, sadly this trend hasn't continued for me today. Plus I have the traditional "new diet bad temper".

will persevere...

swedishmum · 28/01/2008 22:33

I was actually hungry today - ate a couple of falafels and a slice of parma ham which certainly counts as eating what I fancy. I've had a couple of cups of green tea this evening too. I hope it lasts as I have a very low boredom threshold!

just been reading all the threads on here. Can someone please tell me the name of the paul mckenna c.d as need to lose about 10lbs, fed up with SW and WW

thanks x

crimplene · 01/02/2008 15:57

Another weigh-in this morning and I've lost another 4lbs in the last fortnight, so that's 12lbs in total despite not being able to listen to the CD for a few days and pigging out yesterday and the day beofre (BLT sandwiches, almond croissant, whole biryani when I wasn't really hungry etc etc). This thing really seems to be working.

I am, however, getting very bored with the sight of the cheesy photo of him grnning at me from every page of the journal

pleasemum; the CD comes with the book, entitled 'I can make you thin' I don't know if you can buy it alone, but it's worth the couple of hours it takes to read the bookand it's only about a tenner. I get the impression that you could do it without the CD, but probably not without the book.

pleasemum · 02/02/2008 12:13

Have just ordered my book and c.d from amazon...only £5.50

so hopefully this might help...i hope i will soon be able to rave about how fab this book is and tell all about my amazing weight lost!!!

citylover · 02/02/2008 21:28

I went to a Paul McKenna seminar in Nov 2006 and the following things have happened since -

I actually don't know whether I have lost any weight - think I may have lost some but certainly have not put any on but I have had no desire to weigh myself and for the first time in 40 something years I actually like my body and feel alot more confident.

Of course it is not the body of a slim young thing anymore but it is shapely and curvaceous and I have nice skin. And I no longer feel such angst around food. This in itself is sooo liberating.

I think I need to revisit the CDs and book for weight loss but for me the results so far are fantastic. I am freed from that prison. As he said when he walked on stage - diets are f*cking crap'

At the seminar we did mirror work by standing and looking at our reflection and into the eyes of our reflection and saying something like I love and approve of my body. I have to say i was really sceptical about this but it appears to have worked.

crimplene · 02/02/2008 21:42

citylover - perhaps I'm being to negative about the mirror exercise thingy. Will try to give it a proper go. I just wonder if there's much point. I don't hate my body, but I'm still 6 stone overweight and I'm not only never going to think that's a good look, but I need to lose the weight or I'll end up with heart disease and diabetes. The last thing I want to do is just learn to feel comfortable with it. Probably a different story if you're just a bit curvy?

citylover · 03/02/2008 14:10

Right now trying to post for the third time.

Sorry if I sounded flippant/pollyannaish did not mean to.

I was just trying to point out that even without concsiously following the programe changes have happened and I have at the very least maintained my weight and not put any on, which I am sure would have happened otherwise.

And there have been major changes in my attitude to food and body image which have liberated me from a prison I have been in for over 20 years.

I am probably 3.5 stone overweight and a size 16-18 but not very tall so obviously look a bit dumpy.

But following attending this seminar I felt so much more confident and postive. Surely that must be a good thing.

I find myself rejecting certain food which I am sure I would have eaten before and seem to be more attuned to what I actually want and need.

That in itself is worth so much to me.

I feel sure that if I start to use the book and the CD the weight loss will follow.

Good luck. Can you find something to like about your body at the moment?

About to order my copy! Thanks ladies, see you all soon when it arrives!!!

crimplene · 03/02/2008 18:43

citylover Oh yes! I like the general shape of my body, I like my legs - I like my boobs. In general, I like my body it doesn lots of good things. I'm now about a largish size 18 and 6 stone overweight (I've always looked lighter than I actually am as I've got big muscles - actually that's another thing I like about my body). Yes, actually you're right, a more positive attitude toward my body would be good despite all that; I really should dress better
.

I don't like feeling so sluggish and not being able to run is horrible. I just thought that for some people it's more of a body image problem and for me it's more of a body-actuality problem. If anything I tend to assume I look better/ thinner than I actually do. I just don't feel so comfortable about the idea of just accepting your lard if it's killing you.

Anyways, it's working and that's a very good thing!
