Who knows what will happen when I go back to work. But hopefully it will break this cycle of meh.
I've put my pj on early as my lockdown chub was making my trousers did in.

My fave breakfast is about 550 calories. Do I thought 700 ish for dinner leaves me 350 for more tea and lunch. Trying to make lunch more tuna fruit and veg based with breakfast and dinner more protein and fibre. Make breakfast about 10 and dinner is usually 5-6 ish.
Does that sound doable.

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/04/2020 19:40

That's annoys me the sheer lack of understanding about food. Veganism interests me for people's reasons why as I'm not sure I could do it myself.
Live and let live imo. No need for either side to be zealots

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 25/04/2020 20:39

Life, yeah I think that sounds doable. Could you roast some veggies, like carrots, butternut squash, or mediterranean veg to make it seem you are not missing out at lunch? And have with couscous or another grain?

Exactly Not!
The thing is I didn't even go vegan 'for the animals', I did it because meat was making me really ill and dairy was making me vomit (sorry!), so through an elimination diet and having chats with my doctor, it worked out that going plant based was the best thing for me.

Blessed be the PJ’s, an elasticated waist is my friend today too.
When I’m in the zone - so like this one week... I’ve had around 200-250 for breakfast. Distraction & hot drinks get me through to lunch. Lunch is around 350-400, dinner 500-600. Then evening snack maybe 400? Means I can bank a 100 here or there. It just depends on the day and the mood. I seem to manage better leaving my cals for later. I felt low last week (family troubles, won’t blather on that) and I didn’t have appetite. Kind of realised I’m a bit of a greedy mooBlush
I should say the mood today is chocolate, wine & corn crisps. At least I was controlled at dinner

Sorry I got distracted and all me me me! Yep I agree with curvy, it does sound doable. I think you’ve said before you really enjoy your brekkie life - starting the day on a good solid base can only set you up for the day.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 25/04/2020 21:04

Not don't apologise, hope the family trouble was resolved.
Also love an elasticted waist!

Dinner tonight was a 'use stuff up' one.
1 sausage, hassle back new potatoes (they were sprouting a bit) mushrooms, scrambled tofu, tofurky smoked slices and beans. It was very yummy and I have leftovers for breakfast!

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/04/2020 08:32

Right in going to give it a go from today.
I'm at my mental weight ceiling so needs must.

Hope things are on the up not. Feel free to vent either here or on pm if needed.

Walk this morning as it's lovely again. Will do the saved class later if I still need steps.

Not2bObvious · 26/04/2020 08:32

I’ve a load of sprouted potatoes I’m trying to use up, very anti-waste these days. Must given them a go.
Slept for nearly 9 hours, soo nice. No weigh in just yet as stripping off is beyond my capabilities for now!

The scales is an utter bstard here too life*, I think we need to take the numbers with a grain of salt.
Apparently I’m up 3 pound (might be 3.8 but I’m going with the lower number I saw first on both checks) on Friday. And all week I was dropping. Even still I have recorded it and my average is down 1.8 - so I joined a 4 week challenge on a fb group I’m in and I’ve lost 2 pound in that time. That’s decent for these times. Decent for any times with my endless chopping & changing!
Thank you guys for kindness btw, much appreciated.

What 4 week challenge?

Wolfcub · 26/04/2020 09:27

Not hope you are ok.

Scales are being b*stards here too. 2lb up. I seem to be falling into snacking which I've been good about not doing and ds not wanting to go for walks as well is reducing my exercise level.

Off for a walk today whether he comes or not. I could do with some space from him in any case.

Life your breaks fast lunch and dinner plan sounds sensible

Not2bObvious · 26/04/2020 09:35

It’s one ran by a woman that does a fat loss recipe group (I think she’s an ex RH’er? Could be wrong) She did a 6 week one after Christmas and then did this 4 week one. If you’re a member of her recipe group then you can ask to join. It’s finishing now. It’s just for motivation really.
Definitely get your walk & enjoy your space wolf, never mind the 2lb. All flux

Seems like all the scales are b*stards then this morning, I'm up 2lbs too!

Too much snacking for me, even though its mostly been healthy!
Going to go to lidl in a bit, need a few bits that ocado didn't have plus they are doing hand mixing things and I've wanted one for ages, so hopefully they will have some left!

Have a great day everyone.

Twatting scales, all of'em

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 26/04/2020 17:46

Sorry not been on mumsnet this week, home schooling not going great!!

I weighed myself today and lost 1lb but really disappointed. I've been so good I've stuck to 1600 calories (some days I've had 100+ leftover but the next day went a 50/60 over) I was hoping for a bigger loss. I'm putting it down to no exercise and being off work (I work in a preschool so normally constantly on the go!!) Starting couch to 5k again tomorrow and aiming to go for a run at least 3 times a week.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 26/04/2020 17:51

curvy I'm dairy free, I've considered going vegan before as I struggle with eggs, beef and fish/seafood makes me sick. But I'm anemic and it often affects my blood pressure so try to eat meat a few times a week for the iron.

Anyway I came on to say the alpro Greek style plain yogurt is amazing and was my go to treat when I was doing slimming world with berries. And theres a halo top dairy free ice cream that was 15 syns for the whole tub which was amazing!! Ignore if you already knew about them both!!

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 26/04/2020 17:59

nocuts, I feel your pain with the home schooling! I work in a nursery too, so usually on the go all time as well, I'm only doing 2 days a week and I think its really having a negative effect!
Yes I knew about the Alpro Greek yogurt, not the icecream though, thanks for that!

I'm guessing you have already tired, but what about a high dose of iron? Or do you have one of those more complex iron deficiencies (sorry I can't recall the names of them!)

Not2bObvious · 26/04/2020 19:24

A pound is really good nocuts, honestly it takes a lot to lose that. You’re effectively underrating by 500 a day doing that. No mean feat, especially when battling with the homeschooling - with a tween and a teen we’ve negotiated mornings, battles all the time.
Doing ok today, lovely dinner, having a glass of vino & chilling

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 26/04/2020 19:25

Underrating? Under-eating even!
