lockdown assisted weight loss, join me?

I’m on day 4 of giving up chocolate and crisps. So far it’s going well. Lockdown is definitely helping, no nipping to the shop to get snacks or sandwiches. I’ve lost 1.3kg this first week. I’m cooking everyday and eating healthy food.

I’m hoping to continue after lockdown too. Must lose weight, my starting weight was 172.6kg. My goal weight is 90kg. Hopefully going to Disney once I’ve lost the weight, that’s my reward.

Anyone Want to join me? What’s your goal and is lock down helping you?

Just realised I forgot to weigh in yesterday Shock first time in ages that's happened. I did a sneaky weigh in Friday and I'm down to 175 (starting weight 225) so that's officially 50pounds dropped.

I have upped my calories to 1450 so I'll only loose about 1 pound a week now. Even though I've still got about 20 pounds to go, I feel this is more sustainable in the long term. At least until I can get out and get more exercise.

On the one hand I feel guilty, on the other I did say I'd allow myself a pizza when I got down to 12.4, and I'm past that now without having had one, so I think I was due a cheat day! I'd like to be down to 11.9 before I let things go skeewiff again!

I had a short walk and did Joe Wicks.

Studentnursesos12e · 09/06/2020 22:19

Can I jump on? Need all the threads I can get 🤣

I’m calorie counting, been doing it just over a week and lost 13lbs. From 13st to 12st5. Target is a few stone away.

Finished on 1053 today. I’m eating between 1000 and 1500 but am only short and have thyroid problems, will gradually up it.

Weigh Day, Sunday 14th June: 11.13

Yippee, down to 11st-something! Not sure how I managed it as I've been eating more and exercising less! Still, I'm happy! I still can't fit in my size 14 clothes but I don't have a horrible massive muffin top in my size 16 stuff any more at least. 2.5 stone to go now til my goal weight. I wont think about that though as it's too overwhelming! My next aim is to be down to 11.9 and into size 14 by the start of July as I have a new job beginning then and want to feel confident.

Really hope all you Lockdown Losers are doing ok? Anyone reached their goal weight already?

KobeWan · 14/06/2020 14:17

bottlenose301 · 14/06/2020 23:58

What an inspiring thread! I'm a bit late to the party.
I started my own weight loss challenge about a month ago.
Starting weight was 80kg which was the heaviest I'd ever been.
My weakness was beer, wine, fried food and crisps.
As of today I've only lost 3.2kg but happy that in losing weight.
The main thing I have done is cut out alcohol ( not completely , I still have a drink every other week) - I was drinking every night before. I can't lie and say I've had the best diet but I have tried not to eat as much as crap as before and been cooking more. Also trying to eat more fruit and veg.
I've also been doing a 40 minute HIIT workout (Charlotte Crosby's Belly Blitz) almost daily. Main thing I've noticed so far is my double chin isn't as prominent and I have toned my arms up. The belly will take a while to go. I use my fitness pal but need to be more accurate with sizes I put in etc.
Good to see many of you preserving and doing well!

buckeejit · 15/06/2020 20:06

I've stayed the same this week which is a little disappointing but had a good loss last week and have just got my period which may not be helping.

This week dh is off work, although we're now isolating as neighbour I was talking to on Wed eve has just tested positive :( so staying in to be on the safe side. Will still do my early morning walk and aim for 10k steps but may come up short - and might be a bit more lax on the diet. Just had homemade houmous and flatbreads for tea and it was delicious!

Pickles89 · 15/06/2020 21:57

Today:

Breakfast: Smoothie - 150

Mixed berries - 50
Cake bar - 100

Dinner: Pumpkin fiorelli (stuffed pasta) - 300

Pickles89 · 17/06/2020 22:22

Today:

Breakfast: 1/2 glass smoothie - 50

Lunch: Egg cress mayo - 300
Lettuce - 50

I wish I'd stop consistently going over my limit of 1250! It's hard though, with other people in the house eating yummy stuff (ie, halloumi!) not to be tempted! I'm not being greedy and binging at all, but I am genuinely hungry - more so the last couple of weeks than I've been all throughout which doesn't make any sense! I've barely even been in the sea the last couple of weeks.

Today I had 2 dog walks and a workout.

I've had 2 walks and a workout today.

buckeejit · 19/06/2020 17:13

You're doing great pickles.

I've taken this week as a semi holiday from dieting as dh off work but after climbing a little mountain hill on Sunday I've knackered my ankle & cant do my 10k steps anymore. It's so frustrating as I had done it daily for weeks & now am doing nothing. Really hoping that a few days rest makes it better, otherwise might have to check with physio or something ☹️

Pickles89 · 19/06/2020 21:53

@buckeejit Thanks! It feels like I haven't made much progress in 3 months of trying. I don't think I've ever stuck at a diet this long. But then I've never been so overweight either. I've just got to stick at it.

That's really harsh about your ankle! Is it a problem you've had before, or a new injury? Sounds like you could use an xray! With the diet though, maybe it's a good thing, because you're supposed to relax your calorie control and exercise regime now and then aren't you, to keep from plateauing?

Pickles89 · 19/06/2020 22:29

Today:

Lunch: Houmous - 100
Celery and cucumber - negligible
Banana - 150
Yoghurt - 50

Snack: Pear - 100

Dinner: Garlic bread - 500
Pea and spinach dip - 100
Spinach - negligible
Cheese - 100
Raspberries - 50
Cake bar - 100

Total: 1250

Just a short walk and a workout today.

buckeejit · 19/06/2020 22:59

Thanks pickles - I broke the stupid ankle many years ago & it has some metal in it. Will wait and try a short walk on Sunday and hope to be back to normal walk on Monday, though doesn't feel like resting is helping much atm. I do a loop of a walk so never too far from home.

The break in dieting feels sort of natural. Not that I've been having big losses to start with, but might get a boost in a week or 2. I might try meal planning for next week with a stricter regime. I would like to be as dedicated as you - definitely being accountable to mfp for logging everything helps me a bit!

I've never been this heavy before either but having lost 12lb I definitely feel it and I can even see it, even if no one else can yet. Even though its slow, I know that 1 more stone off will be great for me. I might always be overweight but can still be much healthier & look my best without really depriving myself. I've also come to terms with it happening slowly which is a big thing. I'm forming better habits but still, some old habits die hard. Slow & steady & all that...….

Pickles89 · 20/06/2020 22:22

Ooo, well don't push it if it hurts, wait til you can get medical advice! Hopefully it'll be feeling a lot better soon!

Pickles89 · 20/06/2020 22:29

Today:

Breakfast: 1/2 glass smoothie - 50

Weigh Day, Sunday 21st June: 11.11

Getting there, slowly but surely! I really want to be down to 11.9 next week.
