lockdown assisted weight loss, join me?

I’m on day 4 of giving up chocolate and crisps. So far it’s going well. Lockdown is definitely helping, no nipping to the shop to get snacks or sandwiches. I’ve lost 1.3kg this first week. I’m cooking everyday and eating healthy food.

I’m hoping to continue after lockdown too. Must lose weight, my starting weight was 172.6kg. My goal weight is 90kg. Hopefully going to Disney once I’ve lost the weight, that’s my reward.

Anyone Want to join me? What’s your goal and is lock down helping you?

17th of May, that should say!! Is it just me or is time galloping past?

lovinglavidaloca · 17/05/2020 13:34

Yes Pickles!! You’re doing amazingly. Half a stone feels like a great milestone to get to doesn’t it? And you’re right, time is absolutely flying! The weeks just merge into one.

Pickles89 · 17/05/2020 14:45

Thanks! Yes, it feels really good. Only 1/2 an inch off the circumference though!! Every little helps I suppose.

Pickles89 · 17/05/2020 22:54

Today:

Breakfast: 1/2 glass smoothie - 50

Lunch: Homemade carrot and tomato soup - 200
Vegetarian meatballs - 100
Pear - 100

Dinner - Cottage cheese - 150
Red pepper - 50
Sweetcorn - 50
Chives - negligible
Brown seedy bread - 150
Banana - 100
Cake - 200

Total: 1150

Sploshed around in the sea this morning and did a dance workout this evening. I seem to have slipped out of the habit of a midday exercise. I had been skipping but that was murdering my knees. Apart from swimming, what can I do that's low impact?

LaneBoy · 18/05/2020 08:24

Down 2.8lb this week. Spent the whole time in a bit of a state and eating more sugary stuff than normal, and not exercising much at all either, but I did have a few days where I barely snacked I guess. I’m now 1.6lb lower than my previous lowest this year, so I’m glad to be back on track after a few dodgy weeks.

I may make a spreadsheet later so I can have a graph.

Sweetener12 · 18/05/2020 08:35

I'm trying to work out some fitness routine. I even did a calendar via special photo calendar maker with workout days highlighted but I keep being lazy... Lazy and guilty. Lol. Lockdown is more about eating and sleeping for me somehow.

lovinglavidaloca · 18/05/2020 09:28

@Pickles89 there are low impact working videos on YouTube. I take it you’re wearing trainers when you skip rather than doing it barefoot? I feel your pain with the knees though. I have one playing up from all the exercises.

3lbs on for me this morning unfortunately but I’m putting it down to ovulation so when I weigh again next week it better be off!

duckduckgosling · 18/05/2020 09:56

Well done @Pickles89 and everyone else weighing today.
Happy belated birthday @wombats

1.5 off today which takes me to my 1.5stone off 😊

buckeejit · 18/05/2020 10:35

Everyone doing so well! I'm so glad to be in the swing of it now, 3 weeks in for me & 2lb off at this mornings weigh in 😁

That's hard won after a dry weekend which I won't be able to do very often but did mean I achieved my 10k steps every day, (would normally let myself off at the weekend)

I do miss stuffing my face but am delighted to have lost more guilt than weight & the guilt is heavier! I'm really grateful to have this thread to report in to, the accountability is helpful.

Told myself this morning that I should take a photo now to look back on so am off to do that.

myfuckingfreezer · 18/05/2020 12:12

Morning Smile

Another 2 pounds off for me this week taking me to 44pounds total loss. I'm now 12 stone 13 down from 16 stone. Can't remember the last time I was in the 12s; probably about 5 years ago.

I spent a great day yesterday digging out my box of size 14 clothes to put them through the wash in preparation. And filling the box back up with size 18s and 20s!

I'd say about half the 14s fit which is amazing considering I was a size 20 at Christmas! Have to say though this really makes me realise the variety in clothing sizes - some of my 18s are still snug, I'm a 16 in jeans, and a 14 in other things!

wombatsandaplant · 18/05/2020 13:25

Only lost 400g this week but it was that time of month plus my birthday, so I think I did well.

Maria53 · 20/05/2020 09:00

I am now 12st 5.8 which puts me on the right side of 12st for the first time! I'm quite surprised given I have eaten more chocolate than usual (within the daily amount apart from one weekend day). I also said to hell it with it on Monday & had not first bowl of pasta since starting. Just as a treat, but oh it was delicious Grin

@Pickles89 I was feeling like that yesterday. I have been doing a lot of the same workouts so I found a different one on YouTube and it seemed to kickstart my motivation again. Would it help you to switch up your routine and bit?

Not posted my daily meals in a while.

Breakfast: x2 weetabix & sem skimmed milk
Lunch: falafel salad
Dinner: homemade stir fry (I was mindlessly using stir fry sauces stocked with sugar before)
Snack: 1 boiled egg, may have some fruit or a low cal skinny popcorn later

Maria53 · 20/05/2020 20:10

That's just under 1200 cals

Pickles89 · 20/05/2020 23:09

Dinner: Barley risotto with mushrooms and peas - 400
Lettuce - negligible
Grapes - 200

I had a quick swim and did Joe Wicks. Plus walked round the supermarket - that's exercise right?

LaneBoy · 20/05/2020 23:21

Motivation has been shocking the last few weeks and I’m in a pretty bad place emotionally ATM. Eating ok but not exercising really.

But I had a NSV today - I walked to the local Tesco and in the past (not been since early March) I’d be worn out before I even got there especially on such a hot day. But I was fine even on the way back up the hill!

Pickles89 · 21/05/2020 22:46

Today:

Lunch: Wrap - 200
Spinach - negligible
Pea and spinach dip - 50
Banana - 100

Snack: Twiglets - 100

Dinner: Started with leftover chickpea and lentil dhal with rice and had about a 1/3 of it before I realised it'd gone off. No doubt going to be bringing the whole lot up again, but for now - 200
Cottage cheese - 150
Sweetcorn - 50
Red pepper - 50
Cake - 200

Total: 1100

I've had a walk, a swim and did Joe Wicks.

lovinglavidaloca · 22/05/2020 00:02

Love reading all the updates. Really helps to keep you motivated.

Food today:

B plain bagel
L homemade leek and potato soup
D chicken tikka with rice and poppadoms (sauce from a jar)
S a banana and two twix

Exercise wise I did a walk with the kids and a 40 minute HIIT workout. I have my 20 minute run for C25k tomorrow and my knee is not going to like it one bit!

Keep up the good work everyone. We’ve got this!

Pickles89 · 22/05/2020 22:26

Today:

Breakfast: Raspberries - 50

Lunch: Banana - 100
Slice of cake - 200

Dinner: Spinach and mushroom kiev - 300
Courgettes - 50
Mixed grains - 100
Butter - 200
Yoghurt - 50
Strawberries - 50
Slice of cake - 200

I haven't had a walk today but I spent an hour and a half bodyboarding in some pretty wild surf, and did Joe Wicks.

InTheNorth123 · 23/05/2020 10:28

Hi, please can I join you all?

I'm 5ft6 and my start weight was 13st 7lb. My bmi was 30, which is obese.

I've been eating 1200 per day since last Sunday. When I weighed this morning (technically a day early) I was 13st 5lb so I'm please with that for my first week. I'd convinced myself the scales wouldn't move and I was destined to be this size forever, but I'm feeling more positive now.

I'm not struggling too much with the diet. I've tried to diet countless times before but I've never really been committed. This time feels much different and I'm definitely more determined.

I need to up my exercise and get fit. I'm going to start couch to 5k today and do a HIIT workout this evening.

wombatsandaplant · 23/05/2020 18:23

Ive just realised I’ve dropped 4 points of my bmi, woo. Need to get down to 150kg to be under 50 bmi, that’s my first goal for bmi.
