I’m on day 4 of giving up chocolate and crisps. So far it’s going well. Lockdown is definitely helping, no nipping to the shop to get snacks or sandwiches. I’ve lost 1.3kg this first week. I’m cooking everyday and eating healthy food.

I’m hoping to continue after lockdown too. Must lose weight, my starting weight was 172.6kg. My goal weight is 90kg. Hopefully going to Disney once I’ve lost the weight, that’s my reward.

Anyone Want to join me? What’s your goal and is lock down helping you?

Bar the Easter egg I’ve been good all day. Tuna melt toastie with salad for lunch and sausage, mash And beans for tea. I’ll probably have a couple small yoghurts later or a jam sandwich for supper, otherwise I’ll starve. No breakfast as I accidentally slept in till 1130.

Me too, please!

I'm 16 stone and would like to be 12. Today I reached 100 days of not drinking, and I'm now going for 6 months.

Be great to focus on losing 2 stone in that time, too.

I'll weigh in officially tmrw, and I'm doing MFP.

supercee · 05/04/2020 19:48

I've done ok on the food front today. Two oat milk lattes, brisk walk and some YouTube exercise (only 7 min workout but still!), scrambled eggs and smoked salmon but did me until dinner as was a big portion which was Greek chicken with salad, hot sauce and a pitta. Not food combining friendly but still healthier than what I've been used to recently.

Only downfall is the gorgeous red I'm enjoying after vowing no alcohol for two weeks. My friend sneakily left a bag of flowers and a bottle at my door to show me she was thinking of me (I live alone). Such a lovely kind gesture it would be rude not to GrinBlush

HouseTornado great on the 100 days of no drinking- what a milestone!

I am ging to be very, very careful with diet this week, as I have an Easter egg lined u for Sunday that I am going to devour.

twinkledag · 05/04/2020 20:14

Well done on 100 days @HouseTornado 👏👏👏👏

3 meals and 2 squares of dark choc as a snack. Also a small handful of nuts.

Going to be stricter from tomorrow - easing myself in slowly!

stellarsky · 05/04/2020 20:25

May I join. I've done nothing but eat for the time we've been at home. Needs to stop!
Going to try fasting.

EasterBuns · 05/04/2020 20:48

Twinkle - I find the easing on very important if I eat a lot one day then very little the next the hunger is epic.

wombatsandaplant · 05/04/2020 20:55

Ive just signed up to beachbodyondemand, £99 for the year seemed reasonable. I want to do the country heat videos first, it looks fun. I could do with some more exercise and I know there’s plenty free stuff out there but I need the motivation lol.

Thank you for the well dones!

Some absolutely amazing ideas and things I'm going to try on here.

orangejuicer · 05/04/2020 21:43

Great idea!
How are you all distracting yourselves from eating?

RU562341 · 05/04/2020 22:20

orangejuicer, I've lost my appetite quite a bit recently- maybe anxiety? Anyway, knowing that if I eat what I have too fast, I will have to go out again is a good motivator. I really do not want to be anywhere near the supermarkets at the moment and I'm really trying to stretch out the provisions.

catinb0oots · 06/04/2020 06:02

Yay @wombatsandaplant this thread is really taking off. I'm like you - for once I actually feel confident(ish) that I might actually lose some weight for once.

Just waking up properly then will go and weigh 😬😬😬

What's everyone up to? I've just got DS10 at home. DS20 is stuck in his uni house. I'm still planning on doing some schoolwork through the holidays just to keep us sane!

HouseTornado · 06/04/2020 06:26

Morning everyone.

Am bang on 16 stone so that's easy to remember.

Planning on 3 meals a day which I know are healthy, smaller portion at dinner time and no snacks.

Was doing Joe Wickes with DS who's 9 but he now hates it, so will try and find something else every day.

Even though it's the school hols we're keeping the daily structure as DP and I still WFH.

Will log in a bit later and see how everyone is doing.

Yorkshiremum17 · 06/04/2020 08:00

Morning all. Well I have lost 6.5lbs in a fortnight.

I was hoping it would be a bit more than that, but actually that's pretty good. I have a vast amount of weight to lose. I lost 2 stone about 3 years ago doing the LCHF diet by Michael Moseley. That is the most success I have ever had with a diet so thought I would try that again.
It came of much faster last time, but I was dead chilled out where as now I'm very anxious and I know that slows your weight loss down.

My BMI was over 40 and like a pp that was a huge motivator to do something in view of CV19! I've only got a couple of pounds to go, to get me under 40, which I know is still obese but it's a start. My goal is to get into a healthy weight range and have my waist measurement at least half my height.

I'm trying to do some meditation to combat my anxiousness.

Any way good luck to you all, here's to a good week.

HouseTornado · 06/04/2020 08:12

Yorkshiremum17 that is incredible!

If I lost that much in that time I'd be shouting from the rooftops. Well done!

I've had success with LCHF before, but I find I can't sustain it - I was brought up a vegetarian and am hard-wired to crave lentils and brown rice!

Yorkshiremum17 · 06/04/2020 08:50

House of tornado I struggled to maintain it long term last time, but I think it's something I need to learn to do. I had some bread last week as a treat and lay awake in agony all night with stomach pains. I think I may be gluten intolerant. I know I can have the occasional potato or bit of rice without any issues but bread seems like a no go for me. Hopefully this will help me stay on track and lose the weight.

One of the biggest things for me is cutting out sugars, & drinking lots and lots and lots of water! I have just read the obesity code by Jason Fung and it makes so much sense about how and why we do /do not lose weight.

Half the battle is getting your head in to the right space.

NothingIsWrong · 06/04/2020 08:52

Down to 13.12 from 14.0 today, so happy with that. Finding it easier to limit my intake after a couple of weeks, and getting used to having a drink rather than a snack to keep the calories down.

2lbs gone 26lbs to go. I know it won't keep coming off quickly, but it's a start!

catinb0oots · 06/04/2020 08:54

@yorkshiremum well done on the 6.5lb!!!

@HouseTornado yes DS2 has gone right off Joe Wicks. Tbf he is very annoying. We've been doing a run/walk type of think with the dog each day instead. I found some short 15min dumbbell workouts on YT which have been great but god I ache.

Today I am bang on 14st

catinb0oots · 06/04/2020 08:58

Just trying to vaguely meal plan. I work in hospitality so am very very lucky that I have ended up with a freezer full of food - mostly meat. Am very conscious about food waste at the mo so have been eating everything up out of the fridge. Tonight is 'fry up' - so bacon, chicken sausages, tomatoes, poached eggs and mushrooms. Will do DS2 some beans and hash browns as well.

Just had a coffee with oat milk and will try and wait till 1pm for lunch which will be a salad of some sort

raisydenton · 06/04/2020 09:17

Great losses everyone- well done.

Today breakfast is a singular crumpet to feed my butter addiction. Lunch is a lamb and feta pitta and tea tonight is campfire stew which is the first time I have tried it. Will do some mashed potato. Followed by some Greek yoghurt, fruit and honey.

Trying to avoid snacks but will have a fruit snack at 4ish.

LaneBoy · 06/04/2020 09:19

Well as predicted I did put on weight for the first time this year (have weighed myself every Monday since 6/1/20). However it was only 2.2lb so I’m not too fussed. I have eaten a lot of crap this week and only made it out for a walk a couple of times.

Stepping up the exercise now (still gentle as I have to be careful of relapse) and I’ve started keeping a food diary again. I stopped when I got the virus as I couldn’t eat much at all anyway, but it does help focus me a little I think, knowing I have to write down every bite. This time I’m adding times on too.

Resisted the cereal and had a couple of boiled eggs with a slice of seeded toast. That was after a brief stint on the exercise bike

WaterIsWide · 06/04/2020 09:28

accountability helps with determination

Thanks Yanu I'm nabbing that as a motivational quote.

Please may I join ? I've been using this time in lockdown to bloody well get on with some exercise. I've no excuse not to. When it comes to diet and exercise and weight loss I've got form ! I've got a dieting history as long as your arm. I've done the weight gain/lose cycle very often and am now hopefully coming out of a weight gain phase via exercise.

I've saved quite a good selection of exercise work outs on my laptop from YouTube. I've purchased some wireless headphones so I'm not disturbing my husband who is WFH, when I'm doing my exercise routines.

I weighed myself last Thursday, scales indicated I'm 121.5kg which is 19st 13lbs.

I weigh nearly 20st which I'm not proud of and as I'm 5ft 3 and a half inches tall it's not a good look. My husband loves me regardless. My doctor on the other hand...……..

I will be weighing myself monthly to take the pressure off the weekly weigh in.

I only eat crisps at the weekend which is when I make a bag of, 'Pop Chips' last for three days. I build my, 'alcohol calories' into my daily calorie allowance at the weekend too. (Weekend calorie counting, what a chore !)

Good luck all.

WineIsMyCarb · 06/04/2020 10:05

I'd like to join too please. Have just over 2 stone to lose. Have been terrible snacker, drinking loads, chocolate after DC go to bed, the works. Lots of room for improvement. I'm a week into running / garden exercise though so that's a good start. DH on diet as of yesterday as well so it's just the DC's yummy food I need to resist.
Going to stick to 3 healthy meals per day, lots of water, lower carbs (bread, pasta, rice), more veg, exercise.

Duckduckgosling · 06/04/2020 10:30

Week one done and I've lost 4.5lbs 😄

Well done everyone on the losses.
