I’m on day 4 of giving up chocolate and crisps. So far it’s going well. Lockdown is definitely helping, no nipping to the shop to get snacks or sandwiches. I’ve lost 1.3kg this first week. I’m cooking everyday and eating healthy food.

I’m hoping to continue after lockdown too. Must lose weight, my starting weight was 172.6kg. My goal weight is 90kg. Hopefully going to Disney once I’ve lost the weight, that’s my reward.

Anyone Want to join me? What’s your goal and is lock down helping you?

Hey, can I please join too? I would like to lose at least 3.5 stone, and what better time to try! Starting weight is 14 2...
Snacking is my downfall, keep buying chocolate to help me with lockdown. Comfort eater, living on my own, not a great combination! Will get out later for a decent walk, managing 10,000 steps most days.

Brokenchair1 · 07/04/2020 18:15

Joining. See the joke room for a little one has been taken 😂 About 17 stone here, need to lose about 4 stone (am tall). Started lockdown well and doing 16:8 but last week I've just been pigging out on any stockpiled chocolate, cheese and biscuits, wine etc.

I saw myself in a summer skirt today and wanted to cry. I've got such a huge roll of day around my midrift (middle age so probably hormonal to some extent).

Really would love to come out of this a few pounds lighter.

raisydenton · 07/04/2020 19:36

Hi everybody and all the new lockdown losers! Love the name!!

So another reasonable day today :

B- All Bran and SS milk
L- Heinz soup and baguette
T - Campfire stew, rice and yoghurt
Snack -apple and laughing cow x light total 1336 cal

Oh and a calorie free gin and tonic...

I'm really pleased - three meals and no mindless snacking, and mostly healthy apart from Lunch which could have been more wholesome but hey ho! And I'm so full.

LaneBoy · 07/04/2020 19:43

Absolutely love “Lockdown Losers”. :o

WaterIsWide · 07/04/2020 20:44

B - Shredded Wheat, semi skilled milk, one sliced banana, one small box of raisins. Cup of tea.

L - Two granary rolls filled with grated cheddar cheese, low fat margarine, tomato, lettuce and reduced fat salad cream. Bag of Twiglets. Diet coke.

T - Two pork chops, 6oz dry roast potatoes, spring greens, beans, carrot and cauliflower. Instant gravy, apple sauce, English mustard, French mustard.

Sitting on the sofa with a cup of tea. I've had had some mini-eggs and two miniature Dairy Milk eggs.

I've done a seated exercise You Tube work out and a standing one. My husband and I walked to the park and dribbled and slalomed the ball between us and the tree all around the park then we walked home.

Crackers and a bit of Stilton.

Merename · 07/04/2020 22:05

Thank you @wombatsandaplant and @Yorkshiremum17 for sharing your turning point moments - think it’s been creeping up gradually for me seeing clothes not fitting and feeling gross like you say. Reading everyone else’s experiences has really helped me think ‘just go for it now’ - thank you. Not sure if I’m entirely ready to give up afternoon/evening treats entirely when I get kid free time, but I didn’t have much today, and dusted off the unused scales and put new batteries in, so know that I need to lose 2 stone. I previously had a spell of enjoying running so I’m hoping that a combo of starting that up and stopping snacks will be enough to lose the majority, without having to pay major attention to meals. Will keep checking in. Go everyone else!

Firsttimelottie · 07/04/2020 23:19

Hello! Another lockdown loser newbie here!

I'm 16.10 and want to reach 12.7 which puts me in the healthy BMI range.

My motivation in the past was always aesthetic and yet it was never enough!

And now with two children and a job at a GP surgery where talk of obesity and diabetes etc. is a regular thing, HEALTH has become my biggest motivator.

This may sound extreme and perhaps a little disordered but I have created an image that reads:

LIFE is more important that sugar and saturated fat

I made it look pretty and saved it as my phone background. It's only day 2 for me but it's my little dose of reality that I need to keep me going when I crave.

I am not excluding anything. Just watching portions and balancing out my nutrients.

I am having a little detox from processed foods right now though as I don't feel in control enough to introduce it as part of my day without binging!

Good luck all!

I'll list my two days worth of food next Smile

Firsttimelottie · 07/04/2020 23:20

Day 1

B: quaker oat sachet x2 cooked with water and topped with raspberries

L: smoothie (1/2 avocado, 1/2 banana, cup of spinach, cup of bluerries, 1tbsp almond butter, 1tbsp ground seed mix)

D: salmon with baked potato and asparagus

Snack: hot beverages with oat milk, black grapes, cucumber

Day 2

B: buckwheat pancakes with blueberries and 1tbsp maple syrup

L: potato and egg scramble with red pepper and hot sauce

D: wholewheat pasta with green pesto and some grated cheese

S: hot beverages with oat milk, black grapes and cucumber

I really enjoyed my grapes today! They actually felt like a little treat - I must have been desperate for something sweet!!

Firsttimelottie · 07/04/2020 23:22

Has anyone had any headaches?

I'm not sure if it's withdrawal from the mass of sugar I'd normally consume...

Or perhaps I've slashed off too many calories from my day?

myfuckingfreezer · 08/04/2020 08:34

Morning all,

Sorry for the delay - PPs asked me last week what plan I'd followed and I'm doing low carb, high fat with calorie counting on my fitness pal.
So far
1/1/20 - 16 stone
1/2/20 - 15 stone 3
1/3/20 - 14 stone 7
1/4/20 - 13 stone 10

So I losing 10 or 11 pounds a month. I'd like to get to 12 stone so another 2 or 3 months should see me hit that - very exciting!

I'm also doing couch to 5k and before lockdown was religious at hitting 10000 steps. Harder now but I make sure I get out for a walk everyday.

I've been on a few of the these weight loss threads in the last couple of months and the thing that always surprises me when people list their food is the lack of fruit and veg! Whatever diet you're doing, unless it's shakes etc I assumed would include lots of portions of fruit and veg but often doesn't. I've found filling up their so helpful.

So yesterday I ate:
B: Greek yoghurt with banana and weetabix
L: sausage cassoulet with butternut squash, tomatoes, spinach, carrots, onions and cheese
D: chicken salad with lettuce, red pepper, aubergine, courgette, red onion and sugar snap peas.

I had 10 full portions over the three meals which seems excessive but works for me. The amounts keep me mentally full and the high protein and fat keeps my physically full without the carbs.

NothingIsWrong · 08/04/2020 08:46

Weighed myself again this morning and another 0.2lbs off. Trying really hard not to get frustrated with such little losses - but then I have to remind myself I'm weighing every day and 0.2lbs/day is 70lbs in a year. Tiny losses add up to big losses.

Got up early this morning and did a fitness blender abs workout, hoping to do this most mornings so as I lose the fat, there might be some muscles underneath!

Went back through MyFitnessWanker, and my lowest recorded weight was 12st9. Today I am 13st11. Onwards and upwards!

catinb0oots · 08/04/2020 08:53

Morning Losers

Wow well done @forrasee on your losses so far. I'm like you I eat an absolute ton of veg but I love it so don't find it hard.

@nothing fitness blender is great isn't it? I like the fact you can pick workouts from 10mins upwards so can always squeeze something in no matter how long you have.

I'm still in bed but up in a minute to do a workout and walk jabba the mutt (he is on the lockdown diet too!)

Not sure about lunch and dinner today need to have a reccy in fridge/freezer.

Hope everyone had a good day x

katcha16 · 08/04/2020 09:18

Hi all,
Would also love to join in please. I have been trying to loose weight since this started off. I weighed in at 16.12Confused
Which gave me a BMI of over 40, I have a toddler so this virus has really scared me into action (ridiculous it took Covid 19, but it's given me the kick up the rear I needed)
I weigh on Thursday's as that was my shit I better do something day Blush. I was down to 16.2 on last weigh in (-10 in 3 weeks). Also hoping for a good loss this week.
I do seriously need to move more, but between working from home and caring for in-laws (live beside us) and entertaining a toddler ... I'm using ALL the excuses!!!

troppibambini · 08/04/2020 09:26

Hi can I join in too please?
I was fannying around with slimming world before lockdown but not really getting anywhere fast because I was eating too much chocolate
I've just completed my first week of trying to get the lard off.
I lost 2lbs.

Newyearnewarse · 08/04/2020 10:05

Can I join in please ?

I was fat before this started and this is not helping me at all.

I am snacking too much
I am drinking too much
I have put my fitbit away as it has made me sad to see how little I am managing.

I weighed this morning and I have put on another 5 pounds in the last 3 weeks.

I did the first day of the Joe Wicks thing yesterday and it was harder than I thought and my legs ache today.
My plan is to go for a walk soon for an hour .
Just hope my legs survive it after Joe has broken them.

YorkshireParentalPerson · 08/04/2020 10:59

Morning (I've changed name was Yorkshiremum)
I do weigh daily but only log it once a week on a Monday if that makes sense. It's interesting to see how much your weight varies on a daily basis up and down!

I ended up doing a 24 hour fast yesterday after my work announced I was being made redundant 😢. They are being a bit difficult and shitty about it, and so I couldn't eat. Great for the diet 😊. Anyway I forced some dinner down last night and will eat again at lunch today. I am so close to being under 40 BMI that I can taste it!

One great thing I have noticed is that my trousers are fitting me much better, so I'm getting the tape measure out on Monday to see if I have lost any inches

Mammyloveswine · 08/04/2020 11:01

Can I join? Just stepped on the scales and disgusted with myself.

Lost 9kg last October/November and maintained until Christmas... since then have just kept putting on.

Weighed in at 82kg today which is 16kg heavier than when I had my early pregnancy booking in appt with DS2 (who is now 2.5).

Have had a tough year but have been using wind as a crutch and eating too much shit. I know it's a funny day to start but none of my clothes fit and I just don't recognise myself. Hoping to emerge from lockdown like a butterfly!

My birthday is in 4 weeks so my first goal is to get down to 75 by then... after that I want to be 70 by mid June... then 66 by the time the summer holidays start!

So far so good, a banana and a coffee for breakfast!

Going to have salad for lunch then making homemade scotch eggs for tea (slimming world recipe).

Getting the weights out and doing a YouTube fitness class tonight! Will allow myself a glass of wine Friday night, have sat off then share a bottle with DH over Easter Sunday lunch!

Just going to be sensible and not deprive myself but not drink or eat to excess! If I cut back on the wine I know I'll have a good loss next week!

NothingIsWrong · 08/04/2020 12:37

Urgh. Just absolutely binged on macaroni cheese that I made the kids for lunch. Nice long walk for me this afternoon then!

Mammyloveswine · 08/04/2020 12:44

Back from a walk with the kids! Just down the street and round the block!

Feeling positive! Ended up having fresh fruit salad for lunch and a black coffee!

Decided to weigh in twice a week so I'm not tempted to "binge" and "starve"-Saturday Am then Weds AM. Saturday as it will keep me off the wine Friday and weds as then it'll be my weekly weigh in!

I'm so excited to fit back into clothes again!

supercee · 08/04/2020 12:56

I'm going to resist weighing for another week, going to weigh in fortnightly my body seems to take it's time 'letting go'.

2x oat milk latte.
2 veggie sausages, 1 egg and portion of baked beans.
Dinner with be leftover roasted vegetable couscous and salad. Had this last night and it was gorgeous. Might have a slice of sourdough too.

Going to stay off the wine until Sunday where I'll treat myself to that and an Easter egg. Wine is my downfall. Has anyone kept drinking wine and lost weight?!!

Have a great day all.

raisydenton · 08/04/2020 14:08

Feeling a little disheartened as the scales haven't budged.

B-All bran SS milk
L- egg roast lamb feta pepper, toms, cucumber. Ice lolly
T- pulled pork pitta with salad and home made oven chips. Yoghurt or creme caramel

I will keep trying.

Maydayredalert · 08/04/2020 14:11

Same for me @raisydenton. Just keep plodding on!

mrspepperpotty · 08/04/2020 14:50

Can I join you? I find that working from home is making me snack more. The fridge is too close to my working space! But really, this should be the perfect opportunity to lose weight. More free time than usual (no commute, no taking the DC to their after school activities) so I can go for a run every day (and try to drag the DC with me). No meals / drinks out. Just me and my willpower!

I need to lose approx 2 stone to get to the healthy BMI range, plus ideally another stone after that.

Today has been good so far!

raisydenton · 08/04/2020 15:10

@Maydayredalert thank you I appreciate that.

Zazu44 · 08/04/2020 18:08

Please can I join. Need to lose a good couple of stone, am signed up to WW so planning on tracking my food and exercising as from tomorrow. Just need to be accountable as I'm rubbish at sticking to anything.
You all sound lovely 🥰
