Morning, thought I would start a new thread for March as it has been such a good thread again in February. I think the supportive atmosphere really helps us all. I'm hoping to be dead on 9stone by the end of March, currently 9st3.25 (total loss of 8 pounds).

Hi! I'm starting today at 11stone, pre preg weight was 10, but I'd like to get to about 9 1/2!

Let's do it💪🏻

Porpoises · 01/03/2020 16:17

Hi octopus!

Weighed in this morning at just over 73kg. A mild improvement, about 1 to 2 kg, on last month. Batch cooking went really well, will do it again this month. Still struggling with high sugar intake but it could be worse.

Aims for March: keep batch cooking. Eat no snacks from the work snack table (except fruit). Slightly increase my activity levels, this hopefully will fill me with energy Grin. Keep sugar in general low, see it like alcohol, nice but not for every meal! Hoping to stay at 73 kgs or lower.

Patchworksack · 01/03/2020 16:46

HI! Place marking - currently 9st4 which is a 10lb loss since NYD. Aiming at 9 stone as a final target, and sticking with my 16:8 and no-sugar-Lent in the hope of being there by Easter.

Heygirlheyboy · 01/03/2020 17:04

Patchworksack thank you! Lots of us in or around the same. Octopus I'll go with same target, 9 stone end March.

Porpoises · 01/03/2020 18:11

Writing down the activity goal inspired me to go for a bike ride :) Now need to get off Mumsnet and do some chores.

DontFundHate · 01/03/2020 19:05

Thanks for the new thread! And wow well done everyone so far, it's lovely reading about how far we've come. I'm interested to weigh in tomorrow, I don't think I've lost weight this week but I'm getting back to being more on track so it's been a good week nonetheless. Will report tomorrow!

Welcome @coffeandcake30 love the username Grin

My aim this month is to avoid processed foods, instead of avoiding sweet stuff altogether I'll try to avoid ultra processed rubbish that I'd lean towards

Although my other aim contradicts this entirely! Usually AF totally details me so I'm making a big effort this month. All meals planned including 200kcal put aside each day for a big chocolate bar - I'm hoping with that to look forward to each evening it will stop me binging and using up way more calories. This is just for the "danger" week for me - which for me is about 5 days before period and 2 days following. After that I'll get back to much less sugar and less snacking. I've also booked a massage for a few days time to again help with these awful pms symptoms that I'm getting - not just massive cravings but hugely emotional too

Good luck everyone!

Heygirlheyboy · 01/03/2020 19:30

I've my period now, wondering will I not bother weighing tomorrow and wait till thurs/fri which is the 9 week mark..

DontFundHate · 01/03/2020 20:18

I would definitely say waiting would be best, though I know I couldn't follow that advice myself!

Heygirlheyboy · 01/03/2020 20:32

I'm going to take your advice!! It will be hard!

Heygirlheyboy · 01/03/2020 22:05

On theway weighing, I've been weighing dry weight eg rice, and it doesn't always specify on my tracking app, but I know it's obviously heavier cooked, hope I've not been fooling myself! Any nice dinner plans ahead this week?

DontFundHate · 02/03/2020 08:01

Weighed in this morn, STS. Disappointed even though I was expecting it! However considering February was such an awful time for me I've definitely made some positive changes this last week so that's all good. Slow and steady and all that

So weight today 9st 13. Total 5lb lost since beginning Jan. Goal is about 9st 4, possibly 9st to allow for wiggle room but we'll see

Heygirlheyboy · 02/03/2020 08:21

Put it behind you, a week or so and you'll turn it round.

DontFundHate · 02/03/2020 09:08

Thank you x

Today's plan

B - Ono - made a lovely raspberry one with water and stir through small amount of yog in the morn, very nice. Serve with half banana and some peanut butter (1tsp) - it's like pb and jelly! Happy to share recipe if anyone wants
L - maybe sweet potato chips and green beans, but depends if I can leave work, there's a cafe run later and not sure I can resist...!
D - chicken, small portion of chips (will weigh), gravy and loads of veg

Patchworksack · 02/03/2020 10:16

We must be on the same wavelength don'tfund - I bought sweet potatoes this morning to have for dinner. I'm going to do roast pork - I was at a kid's party yesterday and didn't have time to do roast dinner - but I'm doing heaps of roast veg (sweet pots, carrot, squash, pepper and tomatoes) and then steamed green veg instead of (white) potatoes.
Lunch is bol sauce with lots of veg added.
So lovely to finally have some sunshine - I am going to take the dog our for a long walk this morning.

Octopus37 · 02/03/2020 10:37

DontFund you have done really well. Weighed in at 9st1.75 but know that is a false reading cause I haven't eaten much over the weekend cause of my bug. Yesterday I ate two Nature Valley Bars and 3 oatcakes, all I feel like eating is really plain stuff. Know I will be ravenous in a couple of days though.

Morning! Thanks for starting a new thread! I’m back to 9 stone despite having a fairly full on weekend food wise (I was at a wedding on Friday) so pleased with that. I’m thinking of just sticking with 9 and shift my focus to just maintaining that? I’m pretty happy with how I look and feel now and thanks to all my spinning I’m looking very toned in my jeans.. Will see how I get on this week.

Well done everyone on your losses. Keep up the good work!

everycowandagain · 02/03/2020 11:48

Hi everyone, just checking in.

My coffee consumption has spiked with being so busy and tired. My skin is terrible! I am focusing on drinking more water.

TheHoundsofLove · 02/03/2020 12:00

I'm back from France and signing in for round 3! I might have accidentally or not consumed my own body weight in cake and cheese, but I don't care: it was worth it! Grin But, I'm back on track today and have been for a run and done a weights session.
I finished February at 9st2 which is a stone loss since 1st Jan and 3 stones lost in total. I'm aiming for 8 stone something by the end of March. Let's do this!

Heygirlheyboy · 02/03/2020 12:14

Wohooh! Great motivation from all thanks guys.

NotEvenTheKing · 02/03/2020 12:44

Can I join in?
Have about 5 stone to lose. But aiming for 2 by my wedding in June Shock

Been failing to lose it for about a year now and with 3 months to go, I'm feeling so sad that I won't recognise myself for something I've waited for long for (been with dp for well over a decade) so really need to sort myself out over these next few months.

Currently being quite restrictive during the week (soup for lunch, fruit if hungry, lots of water and family meal) and a bit less so at weekends. But still with the mind to not eat all the crisps Grin

Last week I lost around 3lb.

Heygirlheyboy · 02/03/2020 14:42

Welcome Noteven theking

Today
Ono with blueberries and strawberries
Veg frittata (no potato) with goat's cheese and large pile of salad
Snack: tblsp peanut butter and Apple slices, yum
Dinner: roast chicken, carrots, roast potato and gravy.
Four mile walk tonight and have already been pretty actibe today, 7000 steps in the bag. Going to ensure I don't get to even nine out of ten hungry this week to stave off any cravings or overeating in general. Hoping for 9stone 3.5 by end of week. Cramps are dreadful and a headache to match.

Twixes · 02/03/2020 15:18

Hello everyone, well done everyone for staying so focused. Things haven't been going well for me and I've been avoiding the thread. I'm stuck at the same weight now for about 3 weeks :( . I can blame the 'intuitive eating', which basically for me meant I ate what I wanted. Sigh. Time to be a bit more honest with myself.

So back on the wagon and back on the thread hopefully! I'm going to try to post all food here and get back to MFP.

Today:
2 bowls of cornflakes 415 (i ate this before my weigh in and deciding to focus again!)
coffee 85
rice vermicelli noodles with soy sauce, fish sauce, garlic, carrots and some cooked chicken 321
dinner: roast beef, potatoes gravy, veg, will keep it to a small portion and I vow to weigh my food 600
Exercise: spinning

Thanks for the new thread @Octopus37

Porpoises · 02/03/2020 15:51

Welcome @NotEvenTheKing!

Heygirlheyboy · 02/03/2020 16:29

Welcome back twixes! It's really bloody hard getting back on the horse well done! Food diary will probably be enough once you're back on track if you'd rather not track every bite. I like tge discipline of logging

Porpoises · 02/03/2020 17:20

@Twixes good to see you back.

I believe intuitive eating gets derailed by our unnatural food environment.

E.g. intuitively I'm happy with porridge for breakfast. It tastes good and feels filling. But on the days I walk past Sainsbury's local with its giant photo of croissants decaled onto the wall, I "intuitively" want croissants.

Or if I'm eating a sugary processed snack, I don't "intuitively" feel full because these snacks have been designed and tested to make you keep reaching for more. In their texture, their "snack pack" size etc.

I'm trying to do intuitive eating combined with noticing and aggressively deconstructing all the marketing I am exposed to each day.
