Any suggestions as to best format to achieve this?

I'm limited as to amount of exercise I can do, so it looks like dietary approach to begin with, then hope to add in some exercise when I can.

Just wondering if anyone has got advice and/or done similar themselves and can share.

All input gratefully received.Flowers

If you're feeling less bloated that's brilliant. I don't weigh (I just go by my jeans and what I look like in a full length mirror in them!! )

MockneyReject · 28/02/2020 11:01

'Wheat belly' is pretty much me. A giant, walking wheat belly 😕

Ineedaplan · 28/02/2020 14:12

@MockneyReject

Join the club! I feel like a saggy sack of 'bursting at the seams' fat cells. Blush

But - absorbing all the great advice on this thread, accepting I'm on a learning curve and making changes gradually but with determination, is giving me the motivation to say to myself....'Just carry on every day and don't get distracted by things not being perfect straight away'.

Some brilliant posters here and it's much appreciated you are taking the time to offer support and guidance. Flowers

TBH I think it's over ambitious.

You'll either get disheartened if it doesn't happen and give up, or if it does happen, it will end up going straight back on as quick as it came off.

Slow but sure is the best way.

ppeatfruit · 28/02/2020 14:45

I couldn't post a good reply to mockney anyway I said that she knows what she can do Grin Though it's a pain it can be done. It seems that there's wheat in every effing thing!!! But there are delicious wheat free pastas and breads in the Free From shelves and spelt and whole rye bread in Waitrose All nicer than the usual boring wheat.
Spidey It takes a bit of will power but Food Combining is a much better way to lose weight than VLCD's and easy to carry on with after the weight is lost.

ppeatfruit · 28/02/2020 14:48

ineed and Mockney BTW I have some amazingly easy belly busting exercises if you're interested !

Ineedaplan · 28/02/2020 14:54

I've ordered the wheat belly and Paul McKenna books today.😁

Spidey66, I may be over ambitious and/or unrealistic in my goal as originally posted, but Im settling for making every day count and whatever I lose will be gratefully accepted. Those bluddy awful hospital gowns are giving me nightmares! 😫

Ok . To be done on a firm surface (I use my firmish mattress)

  1. Lie flat with your arms by your side. To the count of 7 or 8 secs. raise your upper body for 7 cms. KEEPING YOUR HEAD IN LINE WITH YOUR SPINE do not poke it forward or leave it behind ! hold for 7 or 8 and SLOWLY replace for same number of secs .

Depending on your fitness level you can do this crunch making it more difficult. Of course. Bring in your arms and or put your legs up against a wall straight.

ppeatfruit · 28/02/2020 16:19

Another one for waist and ab definition. Lie flat with your hands on your solar plexus (where your ribs meet) . Staying flat, in your own time slowly ( you don't need to count for this one) Turn your head to your left and your hips to your right hold and return to the centre Then do the same the opposite way. Do this 3 times in the evening and morning, it helps you go back to sleep if you wake in the middle of the night too.

Don't force anything if you're not used to exces. just do them in your own time and work up to dong them more. That philosophy is good I can do sit ups now (which I never could as a young dance \keep fit teacher!!)

Ineedaplan · 28/02/2020 16:44

ppeatfruit

Thanks!!! Will try them out at weekend. 😁

I have my old food combining books boxed away, so may try to find them if I can get time.

I do remember pasta and tomato based sauces don't mix! I remembered that as I was having my pasta dinner last night. 🙄

@FATEdestiny
Took your advice too and got myself a basic step tracker.
I used to have fitbits and a garmin, but problems eventually with all, which was frustrating.

I gave up on all completely, but I agree, time to just become aware again of how little I'm doing these days.
3 years ago, I averaged 8 miles a day. Now, Im on my ass most of time and Im lucky to get 2 miles in twice a week. Sad

You're very welcome, Grin Tomato based sauces are nice with mashed cauliflour or steamed cabbage.

Oh blimey have you recently moved? I'm ashamed Blush because we moved 15 years ago and we've still got boxes to empty Blush Or recycle we obviously don't need the stuff!!!!]

ppeatfruit · 28/02/2020 17:15

You run 2 miles twice a week !!!!! That's more than I do (i don't like running so I don't do it) ,I dance about the kitchen quite a bit and do stretches and sit ups every (nearly every ) morning.

ppeatfruit · 28/02/2020 17:17

Oh I've just reread your post! You walk which is good too. Grin

Ineedaplan · 28/02/2020 17:39

Ha!! 'ppeatfruit* -redecorated 2 years ago and my books and ornaments still boxed up in the garage!

I've forgotten what I've got!!

Yes, just walking. Id occasionally break into a jog in the past.....but that was about it.

Ineedaplan · 28/02/2020 18:05

And if it makes you feel any better, @ppeatfruit, we moved 20 years ago and there was never a proper guest/spare room. Just a junk room, filled with all my stuff!

Day at an end.
Ive eaten, napped, waited patiently for email that I needed.....and it hasn't arrived.
Time zones are a killer!

The good news.....is I saw my fat jeans in a bag, ready to go to my sis who had said she could do with denim material for a project.

On a whim , I decided to try them on again, to remind myself how bad I'd got. You get the picture....

I remember squeezing myself into them and rolling my eyes.

Ineedaplan · 29/02/2020 01:17

Did it 3 times before I accepted that, yes, these were the jeans that I gave up wearing as too bluddy tight months ago......and they were comfortable!
