I'm sorting my self out, starting from tomorrow.

So fed up with mindlessly eating crap day after day. I'm getting fatter by the week and I've had enough.

I will be weighing myself tomorrow morning.

Please join me.

Well done @Forrandomposts fantastic results. Are you calorie counting?

magicrainbowbeans · 18/02/2020 19:10

A late joiner here. I lost nearly a stone since Xmas but slipping back into bad habits.

Was just thinking how habits I think I can't live without now, were once so normal. I mean, back when I was a kid I didn't 'need' caffeine to get up, didn't drink gallons of tea all day (so no extra calories from milk), used to walk and cycle for miles. I have a lot of mood imbalance and am wondering how much could be attributed to caffeine, sugar, alcohol, minimal activity.

Weight wise, would be happy to lose about 2 stone and amazing if 3. But more than that would like a less volatile mind.

Mummyto293 · 18/02/2020 21:20

Yep me too please I’ve so far lost 8-9kg but hit a bit of a plateau and lost motivation would like to get these extra few wobbles off!

twinkledag · 18/02/2020 21:33

Great day yesterday with food on cals and lots of walking.

Today no walking cause of the terrible weather and at a friends for dinner so not 100% good but not terrible either.

I too need to cut the carbs and I will once I'm in the swing of it.

Chops2017 · 18/02/2020 23:42

Does anyone have any links to a home workout that isn't too much but will get my heart pumping but is manageable for a beginner? I can only manage 5 minutes at the most at the moment

Chops2017 · 18/02/2020 23:43

And does walking on the spot actually work too?

xGAIAx · 19/02/2020 07:23

@Chops2017 I don't have any links sorry but I'm sure walking on the spot will work, anything that gets you moving and preferably out of breath will work and you can build up from there. Good luck.

I am utterly shocked that I seem to have lost 4 inches off my waist and chest and 2 inches off my hips. I don't know how that can happen in 2 weeks with a weight loss of roughly 6lbs.

I don't normally do measurements so maybe this is normal? Anyone have any experience in this?

Gothamgirl1970 · 19/02/2020 08:12

Can I be a late joiner? I have 4 stone to lose.

Welcome newcomers

Well I'm doing ok, been pretty good on the food front.

Just got back from a long dog walk which I timed really well as it's just started to rain.

Well done everyone for sticking with it. Let's all keep it up.

ZimZamZoom · 19/02/2020 13:32

I think I'll have a good day today, food wise because I can only eat what I brought with me in my bag.
Find it so much harder when I'm at home with my two DC. It was really hard making them crumpets with Nutella on yesterday. I hard boiled some eggs to take my mind off it though Grin

Hey all, so I made the mistake of weighing this morning and had ‘fluctuated’ -upwards - 1lb Hmm

I know it’s normal but ugh it felt like a kick in the pants.

Aaaanyway, stuck with the program, -I haven’t gone over my calories and have been healthy eating since last Monday- and I am determined to keep going. I know if I just stick with it, results will come.

Blankscreen · 20/02/2020 08:00

I have weighed myself this morning and I'm down 1.5 llbs.

We were looking through old photos last night and I almost don't recognise the person I am looking at. ..

Its been a bit of a shock but also the motivation I really need.

I've worked out I need to lose 13 1kg bags of sugar. I feel like that helps me visualise the amount that needs to go!

twinkledag · 20/02/2020 10:00

Attempting to cut the carbs today - wish me luck!

MillieMoodle · 20/02/2020 10:04

Morning all, I'm still here but haven't had a great few days, I worked late Monday and Tuesday and it all went a bit wrong Blush I'm off work til Monday now so hoping I can redeem myself a bit!

Monday
B - 2 x weetabix with semi skimmed milk
L - 4 x ryvita with cheddar cheese
D - Chinese takeaway (lemon chicken, egg fried rice and prawn crackers) and a whisky and Coke Zero. Oops.

Tuesday
B - none
L - sandwiches, fruit and a slice of cake (work meeting lunch)
D - McDonald's Big Mac, medium fries and a Coke Zero, and a whisky and Coke Zero. Oops again.

Wednesday
B - two slices of white toast with flora buttery
L - Prezzo salmon and chilli penne followed by a salted caramel tart
D - 2 slices of white bread with strawberry jam and some salt and vinegar crisps, a beer and some cashew nuts. Another oops, but lunch was delicious!

Today:
B - two slices of white toast with flora buttery

I am determined today will be better. Not expecting much of a loss (if anything) this week, will be pleased not to have put any weight on I think! There's still a few days though so I haven't lost hope entirely.

StegosaurusRex · 20/02/2020 10:54

This week has been a total bust 🤦🏽‍♀️ I'm not looking forward to weighing on Monday. I've eaten junk food and way too much food and gave in to my snack cravings 😭
I've got a study day today and we will have a healthy lunch, but there will be snacks! Hopefully get some more cooking done this evening and be able to get back on track for the rest of the week and if I can force myself to do some exercise, hopefully I can at least not gain this week

forevergreen · 20/02/2020 10:59

I will be watching a documentary on Chanel 5 tonight at 10pm called 'Addicted to food breaking the cycle' with therapist Mandy Saligari.

I hope it will help me. I really hate this dieting business, i spend a lot of time thinking about food and what I shouldn't be eating. It's actually quite depressing!

OP posts:
Doyoumind · 20/02/2020 17:57

I'm finally back. Been busy with half term and then this thread had completely disappeared from Watching and I'm On.

I'm 10 days in and I think I've lost 5lbs. I always start well and then trail off so I need to keep it up as I have a long way to go. Not found much time for exercise yet. Will try to stick to just a Monday weigh-in from now on.

Forrandomposts · 20/02/2020 18:58

i spend a lot of time thinking about food and what I shouldn't be eating. It's actually quite depressing!

This is exactly where I was 6 weeks ago. My diet was usually a sandwich or pastry for breakfast, a big sandwich or pasta for lunch, chocolate/crisps all afternoon at work then pizza/pasta/curry etc for dinner. Followed by cake/deserts/chocolate. I never thought ' I shouldn't eat that' and would regularly eat boxes of Krispy Kremes and when I went to McDonald's every week, would order two meals Blush

But now I barely think about food. They say that two weeks of changing makes something a habit. I sit and meal plan at the beginning of the week and eat that. If I have to eat out/on the go I chose healthy boring options.

Is it fun? No. But I've now stopped thinking about chocolate and bread and all the things I want because I know every meal has to be nutritious and not be 'something yummy on white bread' which was my go to. I honestly don't think about food now as it's become fuel.

Sorry to sound preachy Blush

xGAIAx · 21/02/2020 11:22

5lbs down this week woohoo, that's 10lbs in 2 weeks 2 days.

I totally feckin deserve it, I haven't gone off plan once Halo it's been so bloody hard sometimes (most times). I feel like celebrating with a slap up lunch Cake ...... I won't ...... but I want to ...... I won't ......

forevergreen · 21/02/2020 11:29

@xGAIAx that's bloody amazing. Well done, I'm so pleased for you.

How's everyone doing? I'm still being good.

OP posts:
StegosaurusRex · 21/02/2020 11:41

Amazing, @xGAIAx! Well done.

I need to take a leaf out of your book, @Forrandomposts. My plan for this weekend is to meal plan and batch cook everything to get me back on track. I like the idea of only having to get through 14 days to break the bad habits

mumoflittlemice · 21/02/2020 22:28

Hey all, Smile

I’m still being good but also feeling quite cheesed off and hungry a LOT Blush Mmm, cheese...
Got through another family movie/ pizza night tonight, while eating poached eggs, avocado, mange tout and baby plum tomatoes. Actually wasn’t fussed about pizza this time Wink

I checked out the NHS WeightLoss resources last night and it recommended that I consume slightly fewer calories still so I’ve reduced my goal intake on MFP to 1400 (just for fun Hmm) and I’m really hoping it will boost things a bit. I’m going to plan a little treat sometime soon though as it will be 2 weeks Monday that I’ve been 😇 without a single off-road moment and I really fancy one...

I have to confess to feeling a bit glum that I haven’t enjoyed the usual ‘first fast few’ pounds off phenomenon before a slow down. Getting my body to shift weight feels like turning a juggernaut around! I keep repeating to myself ‘it’s a marathon, not a sprint..’ but I’m at exactly the same weight now that I was a week ago... Confused

On the bright side I am eating really healthily and much more of veg, fruit, colours, 5 a day, good fats, fibre, no crap at all and all that jazz plus being strict above taking my vits & supplements, so that should all be good for my overall health which is the most important thing really..

Have a great weekend shit-sorter-outerers Grin
