Cambridge Diet / 1:1 diet, anyone? 2020 targets?

Hi all, does anybody want to buddy up through weight loss journey? I'm feeling really positive. I have 6 stone to loose in order to qualify for any fertility treatment.

I'm on sole source, step one. Sticking to shakes this week. Might have some "meals" next week. Might treat myself to a bar next month.

I feel like the bars could be a slippery slope
for me... I prefer cutting all solids out.

Yes I know, not the healthiest diet long term.. I have no intention of gaining it all back. It's not for everybody, please be nice :) I need a kick start.

Wow, well done @MrsHufflepuf and @RedDhalia. I've managed day 1 ok and am pretty pleased! Wasn't too hungry at lunch but was ready for my tea! I'm on step 2 and planning to have my bar in a minute as an evening snack! Bit worried I'll have a headache tomorrow but only have to do half a day of work so will just deal with it.

RedDhalia · 16/01/2020 20:02

I'm just eating a mint crunch.. far better than I thought it would be!!

sunsetandcocktails · 16/01/2020 22:58

Eeek! I just had two glasses of wine with friends. Am only on day 4! Have I massively set myself back??

MrsHufflepuf · 17/01/2020 00:04

@sunsetandcocktails dont panic too much. It's not ideal, you've made it harder on yourself cos the first few days are always hardest and you'll be in them again. But fine that determination you had in the beginning and hopefully you'll still be on for a loss

So another day down. Day 10 today. This is when I need to keep my resolve as I don't look or feel any different. I will keep going though.

I'm having quite a bit of milk in brews, and as I'm on step 2 I shouldn't be having any.. I would deco fall of it if I couldn't have my brews.. I'm off work after my operations and it's the only bloody thing that gets me through the day!!

RedDhalia · 17/01/2020 22:56

Oh - actually it's day 12. Doing better than I though Confused

Soph168 · 18/01/2020 08:17

Keep going @RedDhalia, you are doing so well. My consultant said to have brews with milk if it keeps you on plan as the average cuppa has less than 20 cals in. Im trying to have one with milk only every other cup, to cut it out.
How long are most people going to stay on step 1 before moving onto step 2?

westhill11 · 18/01/2020 11:30

So day 15 today. Was away with work for 3 days and I stuck to plan!! Took my blender to crush ice in my smoothies.
I’m struggling with 3 products and sometimes only have 2!
Weigh in today! 🙈🙉👀!
Will let you all know how I have done!!

Soph168 · 18/01/2020 12:43

Good luck @westhill11 and well done for sticking to it. I'm on 4 products and I struggle to have them all. So strange that we just aren't hungry!

westhill11 · 18/01/2020 13:06

Thanks Soph!! Apparently week 2/3 say hardly any loss! 🙈🙉🤷🏽‍♀️Xx

Soph168 · 18/01/2020 14:51

I lost 3 in week 2 but I don't think I will loose any this week, my scales aren't showing a loss at all. Its to do with the woosh effect apparently, the fat cells are empty of fat so fill with water. The water wi then leave the cells and you will get a loss again in week 4/5.

2under2survivor · 18/01/2020 16:06

How did you get on today @westhill11? I'm on day 4 and already facing my first challenge - a meal out for my friend's birthday. Will be sticking to sparkling water and a small amount of salad without dressing.

westhill11 · 18/01/2020 16:33

She’s on her way !! 🙈🙉🙊

westhill11 · 18/01/2020 19:41

Disappointed- only 1lb! So I really think I should eat 3 and not 2 bars?? Did that have something to do with it xx

Soph168 · 18/01/2020 21:05

It's still a loss @westhill11, so still a step in the right direction. What did the consultant say about you not eating all 3? I'm sure you will have a bugger loss next week. Think I will only loose 1lb this week too.

Emma585 · 18/01/2020 22:21

Hey everyone I’m on day 17 and have lost 21lbs so far.
I have 7 stone to lose. So a long journey for me!!!!
How is everyone finding it so far? X

westhill11 · 19/01/2020 11:14

Hi Soph, my Cambridge Cons. says eat the three because the two may be stored as fat hun! 🙈🙉xx

Soph168 · 19/01/2020 19:34

Good to know @westhill11, I will eat them all.
Just looking at step 2, anyone know where you can buy 4% minced beef?

GU24Mum · 19/01/2020 20:09

Can I join too?! I did Cambridge in Summer 2016 and lost nearly 3 stone but then put it back on over the next 2 years and then extra in the past 18 months. I've tried to get back on it a few times over the past months but it's always been so much harder than the first time. Suspect it's because I never quite did a proper day (tried to do 3/4 products plus a glass of wine and some extra protein!). Did my first really proper day yesterday and am determined to make it work this time.

RedDhalia · 19/01/2020 23:02

Hi all. day 13 done, no water really at all this weekend. Many many brews though. Meh. Weigh in Tuesday. I hope I've lost a bit because apart from milk I've been a fucking angel!!!!

lozengeoflove · 20/01/2020 08:14

I did this at the end of last year and lost a stone in three weeks. Then my baby got ill and would only take breast milk for two days straight (he’s 13 months old and usually only feeds at night). So I had to stop.
Then I read that drastic weight loss releases toxins into breastmilk and so it was good bye to Cambridge diet for me.
It was working so well too Sad

westhill11 · 20/01/2020 13:57

We will all have a great week this week!! Think nice clothes and lots of lovely compliments!!
Let’s do it xxx

IndigoSkye · 20/01/2020 16:39

Hi All, hope your weigh in went ok @RedDhalia.
I am on day 5, struggling a bit today! Feeling really irritable and emotional which is when I would typically eat!! And it's taking a lot of willpower to hold myself back!
Good to hear how successful other have been though! Definitely helping me keep motivated!

RedDhalia · 20/01/2020 17:20

Thanks @IndigoSkye weigh in is tomorrow and I will report back. The way I see it is if I haven't lost weight I won't have put it on either, and given that my ass is on the couch from morning to night that can only be a good thing.

I think medication may slow it down for me? I'm on pregablin, codeine, lactulose etc.

RedDhalia · 20/01/2020 17:21

@westhill11

Yes! Nice clothes! It would be a joy to go clothes shopping and just buy what I actually like rather than thinking I would look awful.

Also I can only wear long tops due to thunder thighs.. a lovely short jumper in the winter with jeans and boots should be FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!

WE CAN DO IT LADIES!!!!
