Cambridge Diet / 1:1 diet, anyone? 2020 targets?

MrsHufflepuf · 06/01/2020 17:41

Hi all, does anybody want to buddy up through weight loss journey? I'm feeling really positive. I have 6 stone to loose in order to qualify for any fertility treatment.

I'm on sole source, step one. Sticking to shakes this week. Might have some "meals" next week. Might treat myself to a bar next month.

I feel like the bars could be a slippery slope
for me... I prefer cutting all solids out.

Yes I know, not the healthiest diet long term.. I have no intention of gaining it all back. It's not for everybody, please be nice :) I need a kick start.

Hi!

I am!

I'm on my 7th week today, I'd lost a stone in 6 weeks but gained some weight back during the holidays 🙈 I'm on the same mission as you to lose 3 stones for a wedding..

When do you start?

Well done! I’m only on day three so a way to go...but at least I’ve started. I did this once years ago when I was at college. I think I lost about 2 stone then and kept it off for ages but the weight has crept back on since then - too many years of wine, chocolate and not quite enough exercise.... I thought I might as well use this lock down to try and get rid of it rather than put on even more! How exciting you have a wedding to plan for - good luck!

I'm seriously considering it. How much issole source per week now? (4 prods, I'm 5.ft8.). Previously lost 6 stone on lighter life (10 yrs ago now). 50 in March so time for another go at chub club!

Hi everyone, im on week 6 and lost over a stone. My goal is to lose one more stone at least. Currently on step 2 of the programme. I am enjoying the diet in that you see results quickly but with all the chocolate in the house its temping. Good luck everyone and keep going

I'm doing Slimfast (two shakes, one healthy meal a day). Started a few days ago. Not really hungry, but I've had a brutal headache the past two days.

Anyone up for a combined thread of all the VLCDs since they are so similar? Cambridge/Exante/Slimfast etc?

@CJDoxon Go You!

I know you probably know how hard it is when you first start but everyone needs motivation so even though first week or two are the hardest, you'll adapt quickly and before you know it you'll have reached your goal!

I agree with @Alison1335 chocolates are my downfall and I just can't stop eating them!

Good luck to you ladies!

Thank you! You are right it’s tricky ... actually mainly in the middle of the night for me - we have a dog who barks at the moon (so annoying) so we wake up and I find it hard to go back to sleep hungry. Hey ho. Do have motivation tho and keen to get rid of my very wobbly tummy. Will be nice to find my waist again...Good luck everyone - nice to know people are out there giving support

@OnlineMadNess 10 stone since March is incredible. I managed 6 on lighter life 10 years ago, now trying again with Lighter Life (offer linked from another poster).

Hi can I join ... I’m starting my diet 2mrw but I have previously done this diet twice I tend to lose the weight but then fall off it so bad that I gain more weight then I started. I’m hoping to follow it through this time with the different steps 🙏🏽

First week is the toughest with potential side affects but keep yourself motivated to reach your goal

Hello - welcome ...to be honest found first week ok. Not loving week 2.5 - but have lost about 1/2 stone so that’s a positive and clothes feel a little bit looser. Im told you have to wait until you have lost about a stone before anyone really notices .... good luck ladiesSmile

I normally get awful side effects that are quite extreme. My Cambridge consultant says it’s because my body is addicted to sugar and carbs so it reacts like that. But I have awful migraines, I throw up and my body is shaking especially early morning. Has anyone else experienced this.

CJDoxon · 12/01/2021 07:33

oh my goodness @Sam2016 - that sounds a bit strange. I wonder if you ought to double check with a doctor before you continue? Perhaps also try drinking lots of water if you can? So sorry it makes you feel unwell - does sound like it might be a bit extreme for you - I suppose the other thing you could do is give up sugar/caffine for a couple of weeks before you begin so your body doesnt have to deal with too much shock.

Anyone up for doing a WhatsApp group?
Today is day 1 for me... I am hungry but just keep drinking water inbetween the shakes. Doing shakes for two weeks then Introducing food.
Have 4.5 stone to loose.

Hi everyone. Day 1 for me today. Excited about the journey but I do feel a little headachy and hungry. Just drinking lots of water in between. When does it get easier?

Anyone up for creating a WhatsApp group so we can support, cheer and celebrate each other whilst on this journey?

Report
Leah92x · 19/01/2021 12:10

I am on day 5 and yesterday it got easier for me. I have found that the shakes don't fill me at all. The hot meals, bites and bars are the best option for me. I would be up for a WhatsApp group to support. My consultant has set up one that I'm in and it's so much help. I would be happy to set one up if you feel you need support to stick to it 😊
