Just that really. How the fuck did I get this big! I've always been on the chubby side, but at 5"9 I pulled it down off.

Fuck. Where do I even start

@ringlets thanks. I admit it's been a bit tough this half term especially as the weather has been awful!

I bought some size dresses and a size 14 top! I keep picking up 16 tips but they are too big looking. It takes a while to cotton on and actually grab the right size I can tell you! Smile

Couch25k · 20/02/2020 16:38

*size 16 dresses......

ringletsandtwiglets · 20/02/2020 16:42

@couch25k Size 14.... Shock You're amazing!

Couch25k · 20/02/2020 18:26

@ringletsandtwiglets I was 18 stone 2lbs in jan last year and a size 20.

I just keep plodding

Sweetooth92 · 20/02/2020 20:15

@ringletsandtwiglets thankyou. Fingers crossed you get the 17 too this weekend!
I’m enjoying the perks of the cutting everything out but concerned that it’s going to be really difficult to continue to ebf at this rate of loss. But little one is no longer screaming and rigid in pain constantly now so it’s a bit of a catch 22! Hopefully things won’t get difficult

TheReef · 20/02/2020 20:21

Oh I've just re found this thread. I started the first week in Jan and I've lost 11.5lbs so far. I'm hoping that my next weigh in will see my first stone off. Still a fair few to go but I'm managing to keep the motivation going. I wanted to lose 18lbs by the end of April (I have a weekend away then), so that still seems doable.

Well done to all the losers out there

snappycamper · 21/02/2020 05:48

Been lurking on this thread since it started but feeling ready to jump in now so I hope that's ok. I'm exactly the same weight as the title. Overweight for my entire adult life, although I have yo-yo'd between 13 and 21 stone since I was 21. I'm now 40 and need to get a grip.

Going to start today with low carb as that has worked for me in the past. Concentrating on not beating myself up when I fall off the wagon and just cracking on with it the next day.

I too weigh daily as I find it so demotivating to have what I've thought is a good week then end up putting on or not losing as much as I'd hoped. Weighing daily has made me see how much variation there is over a week. I also always see a couple of pounds increase the morning after a takeaway Sad

Good luck to all and week done so far. Thanks for motivating me to join you. Here's to a good weekend Grin

ringletsandtwiglets · 21/02/2020 16:35

@snappycamper, welcome to the thread! I'm glad you decided to delurk :) I totally get what you mean about daily weighing. I think I'd give up if I got to the end of a week, weighed and was disappointed. Daily weighing is so much less pressure.

@TheReef, you are SUCH a loser Grin You've done so well! Can you see a difference yet?

frustratedashell · 21/02/2020 21:19

It's funny how you say weighing every day is less pressure. I guess we are all different but to me that seems obsessive. I understand the reasons for doing so but I cant see it working for me.

CuriousCapricorn · 21/02/2020 21:22

Placemarking as off to sleep now but will be up at stupid o’clock with insomnia.

I’m also at my heaviest and fed up.

Bobsandbitz · 21/02/2020 21:25

Similar position here. Joining Slimming world tomorrow morning. I've tried doing the app, both SW and WW, but give up after a couple of weeks..... in the past, I've had best results when going to a group. Even though I rarely stay for the chat! It just keeps me accountable, I think.
We have a wider family holiday coming up in summer, and they're all size-ists, so I really need to get this weight shifted or I'll be feeling miserable cone family holiday.
I have about 3 stone to lose to get back to my pre baby weight, but even losing 2 would be a win at the moment.

ringletsandtwiglets · 21/02/2020 22:16

@frustratedashell, different strokes and all that :) I think I’d obsess more each day, not knowing and wondering whether my efforts were working.

Hello @CuriousCapricorn and @Bobsandbitz. Love that we keep having new posters joining our plod. Hope you get some sleep, Curious. Bobs, your family holiday sounds stressful! Even if you don’t manage to lose the weight you want, screw the sizeists and have a wonderful time anyway!

TheReef · 22/02/2020 11:24

1/2 lb off this week. I should be happy as I had an awful/great weekend as it was dd birthday so lots of cake - should be glad I've lost and not gained I guess

elliejjtiny · 22/02/2020 12:58

stayed the same this week. Not done anything bad but it's been half term and have definitely been drinking less water and snacking more in the evenings this week. Hopefully back in a better routine when the dc go back to school on monday.

ringletsandtwiglets · 22/02/2020 13:25

I’m down 2lb this week so far, and bang on 18 stone. I’ve also just put on a new pair of jeans in a size 20 that I bought at Christmas and couldn’t do up. ☺️☺️☺️ 17s tomorrow, I hope!

frustratedashell · 22/02/2020 21:22

Well done @ringletsandtwiglets

ringletsandtwiglets · 22/02/2020 22:18

Thank you, @frustratedashell ❤️

@elliejjtiny, I’m a childless teacher, so I’ve been able to do lots more exercise this half term! I’ll be urging you on next week when we’re all back at school. 😂

frustratedashell · 23/02/2020 11:59

Wohoo! Lost 1.75lbs this week!

ringletsandtwiglets · 25/02/2020 17:30

@frustratedashell, you bloody star :) So pleased to 'hear' you sounding so upbeat, too. Congratulations!

Not sure what's going on with me at the moment. I had a surprise gain yesterday, and then the scales today show I'm down 1kg from yesterday. Must have been water weight or something... but I'm now in the 17 stone bracket! Bloody thrilled, and amazed that it's actually working.

This time last year, I was barely sleeping, had load of aches and pains so took a couple of painkillers most days, must have been eating around 3000 calories on a standard day and doing no exercise, and averaging 3000 steps a day.

frustratedashell · 26/02/2020 02:00

Great to hear your progress @ringletsandtwiglets.

elliejjtiny · 29/02/2020 21:42

2lb on this week. I'm pleased with that though as my af is due and I usually put on 5lb then. Went to a party with a lovely buffet and I managed to stick to 5 bite sized snacks and some veg. Very impressed with my self control. Dh didn't eat anything which is why he's looking a lot thinner than me. Onwards and upwards.

ringletsandtwiglets · 01/03/2020 18:45

@elliejjtiny, such a great positive attitude! Well done for keeping your self-control, but also for allowing yourself a little taste of the snacks. Wouldn't life be miserable if we avoided all fattening foods?

frustratedashell · 01/03/2020 22:32

I lost half a pound. Bit disappointed

Couch25k · 02/03/2020 10:18

Keep going @frustratedashell. I've gone off plan a bit, lots of socials. I weighed this am and have put back on the 2lb I lost recently. I seem to he hovering and not really shifting. So, this week back in the zone. The sun is finally shining here, so walking and running and not eating cake!! Shoukd sort me out.

frustratedashell · 04/03/2020 23:54

Thanks @Couch25k
